I have moded other phones but the Infuse is giving me heartburn. I am attempting to load Serendipity 7 from stock out of the box straight from the store Samsung Infuse. I used Odin, put the files in the coresponding boxes (pda, phone, pit, csc) and hit start. I get to a point and it freezes:

I assumed you rooted it and loaded CWM as per the DEVs instructions and flashed it from CWM?

yes I have done that. I used Rom Manager to flash CWM, booted to recovery but once I get there I don't see the install from zip option. The recovery mode looks like the stock recovery mode

OK...I got it to work and I am now up and running with the best ROM on the market S7.
For those stuck in the same situation here is what i did.
I installed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092021&highlight=root+mod+3e
Then I downloaded Rom Manager from the App Market and flashed CWM. Used the button inside the app to reboot to CWM recovery mode.
Once rebooted you will be in the Android 3e recovery mode. I clicked one of the options (I forget which one and since i am moded now I can't see the original recovery screen) I think it was the 3rd or 4th option. after clicking this it let me into the CWM recovery mode and I could select to mount storage, put my S7 download on my SD card, choose install .zip from SD card and I was off and running.
Thanks for the replys and I hope this helps someone.

Unplug
restart Odin
Reboot tab to download mode
plug in tablet
run Odin again
Happens from time to time
Also may want to redownload the file if it happens again just to be sure
Also, do you own an 8010? Just checking since you're flashing an 8010 file
What's that bit about "Get PIT for Mapping"
That shouldn't be there. You might have to give us some more info
ODIN always runs "get pit for mapping"... Don"t scare the poor guy...
If you don't know something don't answer, you could be the cause of another person's brick...
You don't need to worry about that.
Most bad flashes through ODIN are done because of user error. A lot of times the rom being flashed is corrupt. If it has an MD5 sum, you should get an MD5 checker and make sure the rom file isn't corrupt..... Try a different edition of ODIN, I've used 3.07 where 3.03 didn't work, same file, same cable and same tab... Worked fine...
Unless you've checked re-partition when you flashed, it looks like a bad sector on your NAND. You may need a pit file to correct but be VERY careful if you flash one of these as this is a definate brick if it is corrupt or for the wrong device....
I dont know how to add a pit file

I downloaded the firmware 2 times it give the same error for both of them
I tried two version of Odin 3.04 and 3.07
i didnt try MD5 checker but i will try it if it is needed
I want to try a pit file but I don't know how to do it ,
Also I own a GT-N8013 which is the US version of Galaxy Note 10.1 i think this shouldnt be a problem to Flash United Kingdom Version since they are same device .
Thanks a lot for your help
Honestly, you DON'T want to try a pit file... Fastest way to brick your device...
Did you try using Mobile ODIN?
This means you do need to root your device but I found it seems to work a hell of a lot better than PC ODIN....
What I would do is restock original firmware then root device. This will raise the flash counter but then run triangleaway....
Load the rom file you are trying to flash onto an sd card and put it into the Note.
Make sure you use Mobile ODIN PRO as you can now flash the new OS and remove root if you want to going back to stock UK rom...
Flash away...
You should be "Official" in all statuses, both bootloader and settings with no flash count...
And trust me, if you start playing around with a pit file you are going to regret it....
I'm trying to follow this thread to root my tab but something is going wrong. I have downloaded the latest for my tab, load the philz_touch_5.0.5-p1143.tar.md5 in odin and have put the zip on my external sd card. The issue is the firmware never seems to load correctly in the first stage to get me to the point that I can continue on to step two which is flashing the zip file from the sd card. I start odin and load the tar file with pda selected, boot the tab into download mode and connect it to the computer. Odin shows it connected and i click start...after a few seconds and showing progress of it uploading the file it says passed with a green box and reboots the tab for me. Now I'm suppose to go to step two and use the new recovery that should have been uploaded to flash the philz_touch zip file but it's the same old factory recovery and not the new one that odin was suppose to upload so i can flash from the sd card.
Hardware: P5113
Ver: 4.1.1
This is the thread i'm following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1657056
These are the files i'm using ..the tar and zip for p5113
http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=16057#files
Any help would be appreciated. I'd like to root this tab, take a nandroid backup and flash a new rom like CM to it.

As you can see it seems successful, the box turns green and says passed but booting into recovery mode for step two still has the factory one and does not have an option to install zip from sdcard ..just the usual upgrade.
Use CF-Auto Root

So i recently rooted my i925 with this universal method...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2403230
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCBLOhWavT0
Then I decided to try and run the casuall "Jailbreak" software to get a custom recovery and unlocked bootloader and i just checked "I did it" during the root portion since I already was... and now I'm soft bricked. I can only get into the download mode and tried flashing with odin but no luck might be doing something wrong... Also tried following the cyanogen instructions which involve flashing a cwm recovery in download mode but still no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! If I hold power the screen will just flash the download mode screen on and off. I pulled the back off and pulled power. No difference.
Any ideas guys? This is the first time I've bricked anything since I've been here and it's got me pretty worried...
Still stuck is anyone has any ideas.

I would retry ODIN with the original VRAMK1 firmware available from sammobile.com. If that doesn't work tell us what error you are getting.

I'm just going to warranty it out with verizon. Ive warrantied phones before with no issue. usually for amoled screens that get shadows before the year warranty is up. Hoping all goes well.
im having this same issue, device keeps starting and then fails out, is there a solution to this?
Just tried to flash my SM-G920X It's a demo version of the S6.
( No calling. I'm ok with this it's not my problem)
Because it had the retail mode software installed that is a nuisance. I tried to flash over it many times. The retail mode locks the bootloader and can't be removed, its an administrator. wiping with android device manager just returns to stock+retailmode. retailmode documentation now says it can never be removed.
recovery mode wipe is forbidden.
cfautoroot and twrp both fail - its the retailmode lock
I tried flashing with G920FXXU1AOE3_G920FXEU1AODQ_XEU.zip with the *Phone bootloader update* ticked. It's a full unbranded rom from sammobile. It should have a bootloader?
It replaced the bootloader!!!!
Then hung. reboot phone.
"An error has occurred while updating device software. Use Emergency recovery function in Smart Switch PC software."
I can't. it demands a code from the programs last try when the update failed. Or you can try to use the sim registration serial number online check. But I no have sim! It's not registered. (it is not stolen I've already had a back and forth with samsung email serial number check. I got it from ebay)
Cannot power off! stuck on either download mode or emergency warning. Both bright blue/green whole screen. left it plugged in last night so it didn't drain the battery flat. Was very very hot this morning. I put it in the freezer for half an hour.
Think I can still use odin. It says added. I can still get it into download mode.
Just need to totally reflash the thing. But with what???
when I try to reflash bootloader I get...

I just copied out the recovery.img file from the stock rom I've been trying to flash. Copied it over the one in here twrp-2.8.6.0-zeroflte.img.tar as suggested by this post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/solved-stuck-download-mode-failed-odin-t3104736/page2

Once you've rooted that phone and caused your Knox counter to say 0x1 then it becomes extremely difficult to get a stock rom to flash through odin.. Right now the only thing you can do at this point is to reflash TWRP Recovery and then after that boot into the recovery and flash another rom that the devs on here have made to at least get you up and running.

If you've flashed it correctly then holding the volume down button the home button and the power button should be able to get you into twrp.. From what I read it's kind of tricky since you also have to push the volume down button again right after the screen turns on.. There really isn't a whole lot else you can do except to download whichever version firmware you were using the very last time you'll have to use the same one again and as I recall you need to unzip the file and place them in the correct spots in Odin. There should be 4 to flash.. If I were you the first thing I would do is flash the correct boot image since you have the root kernel on the phone and it's not going to let you use stock recovery with that kernel.
