[Live Wallpaper] Plasma

Hi all,
The past few weeks I've been working on a new live wallpaper for the Nexus One. Now that it's nearing completion, I figured I'd share it here and gather some feedback. It runs very smoothly for me, and has a ton of options. I put it in the Market a few days ago -- you can find it pretty easily by just searching for "clangen" or using the attached QR code.
Although I created my forum account some time ago, I apparently haven't been active enough and am permitted from adding URLs to my post -- maybe some friendly mod here can help me out?
At any rate, the screenshots don't really do it justice, so I uploaded a short demo video in ogg/theora format (should play out of the box in FF and Chrome):

Dudes not kidding, it is fast, very configurable, and most importantly looks pretty badass. Also comes with quite a few presets. Nice work man

Awesome wallpaper. My screen transitions seem a lot smoother now with this running.

This wallpaper is simply ingenious! No other wallpaper has that much options. And the best thing: favorite settings can be saved!

This is great. It looks fabulous and the saving of effects is a great option to have. Good job man!

I installed it, but it's really hard to see unless you have your screen brightness jacked up, which means it's going to kill your battery even more. Don't think I'll use it day to day.
Great job on it though.

It took this long before someone put out an honest 'first impression'
Personally, the live wallpaper has great potential - but it also is a battery hog. While most wallpapers eat about 2% of power this once takes at least 3%.

Stumbled upon this website today. Lots of VERY high quality wallpapers.
Obviously, they need to be re-sized to 640X480 as they are HUGE, but damn these look NICE.
I haven't looked at all of them, so there MAY be some that are not safe for work... You have been warned.

Ok, so there are DEFINITELY some wallpapers that are NSFW... however there is a filter at the top.

I love new wallpapers. Sometimes I get a strong urge to flash a rom for no reason at all, and then I find a cool new wallpaper to suppress that urge. Thanks! lol... really though, they look nice

Just make sure you only have the GREEN "SFW" button pressed, NOT the yellow/red and you'll be fine.
Then when you get home make sure to click the red one Some goodies haha.

Ok I'm hearing mixed views now so I'm confused.
All the tech sites say the evo resolution is 800x480 so I sized my wallpapers accordingly.
But I have someone say the resolution is 960x800. Which is true? I really didn't think the later is true because the official sites aren't saying it's that res.

Anyways.. why is such a pain to set wallpapers. You shouldnt need to resize the wallpaper. Everytime i try to set a picture as wallpaper.. it makes me crop it and It never looks right.

I've also been wondering why of makes me resize. I'm wondering if that's a sense thing instead of an Android thing. Can anyone comment on that?

Hello all. I have compared the two sizes on a few evos by making wallpaper in both sizes. When you resize wallpapers at 960x800 it will look/be hi-res no questions asked. OTOH 800x480 is display resolution this DOES NOT equate to wallpaper size. Its definitely not wallpaper size.

I kinda like the argyle ones, but they're a bit too much for me personally.
I am trying out the following though.

It is 960x480 because there are the additional home screens

Thanks a bunch! Found a handful of them I like.

I'm glad people are liking them even though I guess they are the wrong resolution.
When I find some more that I like I'll make some in a better resolution and put more up.
I found these on deviant art. So if anyone sees any they like let me know and I'll check em out and add them to the list for you guys.

I'm looking for the Dock Icons in this picture, I had them on CM6 but now I can't find them anywhere....been searching forever!
Also, if anyone has any kind of LP icons they would like to share, please do!

No clue where they are at, but with text icons I usually make them myself if I can't find them. If you have photoshop, just play with some fonts until you find one you like, find the proper size for an icon (think its 72 x 72 pixels), save them as png's and put them on your memory card. Makes for some awesome icons. Hope that helps a little.

It does look like that, the ones I had looks like some of the letters are slightly offset... I like it because It kind of made the bubbles on my dock look like it was distorting them a bit.
Thanks for the tips, unfortunately I don't have the knowledge/software to make them myself! lol

Find the font you want, the words you want (please keep it to a minimum) and I'll put some together for you. Or at least do my best.

The font that guy linked in here will work fine.
I would like each icon to have 2 words if possible, kinda like PHONE with DIALER underneath it in smaller print. If not, then just the word Phone. Then MRKT with market underneath, TEXT with handcent underneath and WEB with browser underneath.
If the 2 word icons aren't possible then just the first word will work! Maybe in White or light gray if you can!
This would be greatly greatly appreciated

Alright. Try this. I tried them out on my own screen. Both sets have no background so they'll be hard to see until you place them on a dark dock background or dark wallpaper. If they don't work, holler at me. It only took about 10 minutes to do so any changes are pretty easy. You'll obviously have to unzip first before you put them on the sdcard. Good luck. Cheers.

Actually yea they are really hard to see on my bubble dock but not sure you can do anything about that...I'll try to find a different dock cause they are some kickass icons!

Yea I thought about that and wondered how it would look. I could have put a solid background on them but it would have hid the bubbles. Let me know if it works out. And no worries, my pleasure...that's what the forum is here for. Plenty of people have stepped up to help me out. Have a good one.

[APP] FX UI

It's pretty good looking, but it seems like TAT Home, a really good UI that will never be published.

Always good to have another UI. Looks intersting...but might be just too much for me.
