Hi all,
The past few weeks I've been working on a new live wallpaper for the Nexus One. Now that it's nearing completion, I figured I'd share it here and gather some feedback. It runs very smoothly for me, and has a ton of options. I put it in the Market a few days ago -- you can find it pretty easily by just searching for "clangen" or using the attached QR code.
Although I created my forum account some time ago, I apparently haven't been active enough and am permitted from adding URLs to my post -- maybe some friendly mod here can help me out?
At any rate, the screenshots don't really do it justice, so I uploaded a short demo video in ogg/theora format (should play out of the box in FF and Chrome):

Dudes not kidding, it is fast, very configurable, and most importantly looks pretty badass. Also comes with quite a few presets. Nice work man

Awesome wallpaper. My screen transitions seem a lot smoother now with this running.
This wallpaper is simply ingenious! No other wallpaper has that much options. And the best thing: favorite settings can be saved!

I installed it, but it's really hard to see unless you have your screen brightness jacked up, which means it's going to kill your battery even more. Don't think I'll use it day to day.

It took this long before someone put out an honest 'first impression'
Personally, the live wallpaper has great potential - but it also is a battery hog. While most wallpapers eat about 2% of power this once takes at least 3%.

9/13/10 - New update!
The Max version now supports album art! You can choose to skin the cubes with your album art. It will automatically cycle through all of the album art on your SD storage. I'm working on an update to support those of you with internal storage.

I've removed the apk from here. If you already have one of the test versions installed, please uninstall it and get it from the market. That way you'll be able to get automatic updates.
To Do List
Short term:
Possibly implement some sort of color cycling so that the cubes change colors while it's running.
Long term:
User selectable textures
Pulsing when music is playing
Custom models - imagine instead of simple cubes, it was a bunch of Android robots

Instructions:
If you've clicked on the about bar in the settings, then you've already seen these but I should include them here as well.
The tilting motion works best when the phone is in a relatively horizontal position.
Double tap the screen to re-center the tunnel.
Try tapping the cubes multiple times to change their rotation.
After watching the clip.. my mind in a daze haha. It looks reallyy good and i'm gonna try it out right now. How is it on the battery?
LOL, the 3D effect actually looks better in the video than in real life, I think.
As far as battery, I'm sure it takes quite a toll while it's on because the motion sensors are pretty power-hungry but you can turn them off in the settings if you wish.
I know this is the nexus one forum. But just as an FYI it doesn't work on my stock 2.1 telus milestone. All the cubes and the tunnel are white, regardless of the settings selected.
hmm, ok. Is the Milestone is the same as the Motorola Droid? If so, I can think of a few things to try for the next release...

Yeah their real close, cdma (droid) vs gsm (milestone) but I'm pretty sure it's the same gpu.

You have managed to get a '3D' style live wallpaper to work! I think the more people that find out about this the more popular you will become. I would pay for this in the market! Watch how many people kang this from you! I look forward to more from you in the future.

It's one of the first type of Live wallpapers I've searched (bokeh lights) in the Store when I've got my phone, and since I couldn't find one, I made it myself (I hated the lack of a simple one without a billion ads and tricks).

Thanks! I got it from a friend, but I'm pretty sure it was on Imgur/ Reddit/ one of those! Just loved the design, especially since I usually use "No Wallpaper" so the solid color design is perfect.

This app is great, thanks! But i am wondering, could you make a hardcore mode for your app? Like you cant exit from app, you cant do anything, there is only the timer? Aah! I know, a lockscreen mod? Until the time ends, you cant unlock your phone, even if your work finished... that would be fun! Also like a desk clock mode, zero brightness etc? have nice day, good job :3

I think having this option would be a great idea, for us with really poor self discipline.
I´ve been actually thinking about looking for an app that would do just this. I´ll try it right away!
Does anybody know if there is a similar freeware program for PC? Say, you can block certain urls so they can´t be accessed during a period of time etc...
This app is exactly what I need. In addition it is really simple and have nice UI. Thank you!

I think cizkek have a loot of good ideas.
My own propositions: lookscreen mod with timer on it (just one touch to check it) and option to hide notification bar while timer is going.
Did not think it would, but this alternating work-break really helps me concentrate on studies. Thanks a lot.

Dont know if it was meant to be that way, but the divider between green and red line isnt centered (could be my eye too ). Nice icon BTW

Use Abstruct. It is a awesome Wallpaper App.
I know it's not exactly what you asked for but look up maxelus on the playstore, he has several really good live wallpapers for AMOLED and they look so good on my op7pro
Personally right now I'm using demon with most of the options on random timers. Try them out, his pro unlocks are nice too he gives you the option to spend .99, 1.99, or 2.99 and all 3 unlock the same features it's pay how you feel it's worth and I love others of his too.
Demon is my current favorite
AMOLED is a good one
Motion and neonline are alright
And before he was making these for AMOLED he made really nice ones for space ones that still look nice
I have used the maxelus livewallpapers and when applied the scrolling in the app drawer is no longer smooth as in it lags.
