Hi there,
Having watched your fear-inspiring n00b video I feel that first an apology is necessary, however I was unable to post this in the relevent thread because I don't have enough posts, and someone else has asked the same question (so i don't feel dumb) but it didn't get an anwser so perhaps it was overlooked among other questions... So i do apologise, don't flame me, i'm a n00b, 'k...
So, I read your warnings, and I have NOOOO( B! ) idea what "HSPL" means, I am not a hacker or coder sans an A-level in computing... A VB if statement is about all i know
However, before my MS wp7 dev account was validated (I'm an impatient guy, having had my lego taken away as a kid and having bad feelings about it ever since) I used one of the hacks to flash Mango B1 onto my HD7. It is now restoring from the B2 to pre-mango-state (NoDo).
I have no idea wether or not the tool that i used is what is meant by HSPL, and so i really want to know wether or not I can safetly use Schubert, or if my phone will become an unholy breezeblock of sorts...
Fire extinguisher on stand-by incase i breached any rules that may get me flamed....
Danny
EDIT : Gah, the tool didn't work for me anyway, even in the bootloader mode.... never mind haha
HSPL/RSPL are hacked bootloaders that allow you to flash any ROM to your device. They are basically "unlocked" in that they don't perform the security checks.
Your stock SPL they refer to OSPL, O = original. The way to check if you have HSPL is to power down your device & than turn it back on by holding down Volume Down & pressing Power. Keep holding Volume Down till you see the Tri-Color screen (Red/Green/Blue/White). The second line will give your SPL version. If is says SPL, you have the stock SPL. If it says HSPL, than you have HSPL flashed.
Hope this helps.
PS: To get out of the Boatloader, pull your battery.

wat does SPL mean?
Silly thing to ask...
Wow 35 views and nobody could answer him.
IPL = Initial Program Loader
SPL = Secondary Program Loader
and what do they use for ?
IMHO, it's pretty self-explanitory.
IPL is short start up sequence code (initial) which will run certain function tests and call SPL - which should contain information to run OS/ROM.
IPL is like the key to your car, SPL is like the starter and OS/ROM is like the engine; turn your key (call IPL), starter will roll (SPL runs) and the engine will crank over and catch (OS/ROM).
thanks, that would help...
maybe it wasnt that silly to ask... googled it, didnt get anything...
Not silly at all, I was just surprised nobody else would answer you. That's what the forums are for! Post any other question you have if you can't find the answer and we'll be happy to respond.
Hi,
I recently upgraded to Vodafone's v1415, and there's one feature I dearly miss from my old phone. That's having it beep or vibrate every 5 minutes or so if it has a new notification (such as a text message, a missed call, etc) until I respond. Is there a way to set that up with this phone?
Thanks.
You can do this with mortscript. Use the search function. It should be somewhere on the forum!
Thanks for the quick reply. I looked around a bit on the forum but couldn't find anything that didn't involve upgrading Windows or some other dramatic change. Did I miss something, or is that the only way?
I have to admit to being very new to the whole scene; this is my first smartphone, so I'm not familiar with most of what's written on the forum. I'm usually good with technology though, so if upgrading Windows is indeed the only way, I wouldn't need a guide for *complete* idiots
It is very simple to flash a rom (upgrade windows as you put it). I would suggest doing that anyway, if you arent completely against it. Check the Vox Wiki, which is located in my sig and read about flashing roms and decide if you want to go that route.
Hello, I'm new here.. actually the previous owner of the phone sent me here. Well in summary, I brought a HTC Tilt from someone and they had PDA Corner Ultimate with this on it (R 1.70.19.09 G25.83.40.02 h D 3. Abusalza). Now I have no clue what that all means but I like the phone. First off once I get the IE homepage and type anything in the search part, the website is tiny (unable to read). i tried adjusting the text size and still the same thing. Then it will not allow me to select what I'm searching for (i.e. search- yahoo messenger, bring up the site but I can not select it or go to the page). Next it started acting weird by putting 5s in the address bar (on its own). I've been looking throught this site, trying and hoping that I will find something to help. I may have bypast it (too tired now). Can someone help me figure this out? I also would like to flash WM6.5 on here. i read the tut for that but was wondering do I have to remove the stuff thats on here first? Thank you and feel free to ask me more about this.
Hello my friend.
First, read up a bit on your device, visit the xda wiki, search for tilt and do some reading before you do anything daft.
You arent ready to flash yet. Understand your device a bit and how it works, then when your ready have a play
Visit the wiki here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TiltSpecificWikiPage
Have fun
I had to step away and take a break. No offence but I'm still lost. On the other hand I'm still reading up on this. i think i might just start from scratch. I'm looking inthe phone to see what programs like and post it on the thread where I can get a custom ROM.
the att tilt is the att variant of the htc kaiser (the only difference is the keyboard layout which may need to be fixed depending on the rom source.. you will just need to install a cab), check the kaiser rom section. As for a recommended 6.5 rom, its a person opinion, but i use anryls Roms.. and for you i would recommend the 21500 rev6 build (i have been having corruption problems with all the 21501 versions) To warn you though, 6.5 is not finished and there for not completly stable.... for example the camera does not work with htc menu enhancement (its a driver issue)
Like i said if you wanna look around for yourself sheck the kaiser rom section.
hope that helps,
Joel
A Good New Year for everyone.
I'm very frustrated with a HTC TRIN100 my daughter offered me recently. I've posted a question about how should i proceed as to flash the rom WM5 into WM6 (maybe to Mary 37) via Memory Card, once i do not know how to Sync the damned thing with M$ Active Sync, unfortunately untill now nobody cared to feed me back on this issue.
Meanwhile i've been trying to install some applications (lately: Xplore for WM...) and the .cab just wheels and wheels around and no joy -- nothing.
I'm so enraged with this piece of gadget that if it was my own acquisition, i swear i would through it into the garbage tin, but once it was a gift from my girlie, i feel i must restrain my aggressive ticks.
Anyway: would some 'simpatico' kind expert explain what can i do to mend this stupid situation: as long as i leave it the sails logo continue to wheel around and produce nothing in the stupid object and i will remain thankfuly obliged.
Would thank any objective help, of course.

You flash the ROM with an RUU file. The RUU is an application you run on your PC with the phone connected.
Typically flashing from a memory card involves entering the bootloader and a few other unnecessary steps (if it can even be done with WM devices)
The only time I ever flash using a memory card is typically if I'm working on an Android device. Other than that it's RUU for me. Much simpler process.
ok, first off all I have to say that I have explore this forum searching for this answer, and yes there is some things that are very useful. but, since I'm new in these things (I have some knowledge, but I'm little afraid to do something in which I'm not to familiar), I would love to see best and the simplest way to do with tutorials or reference that is compact (or at least what to do first, second...). So how to jailbreak it to use windows device manager so I can install other apps besides market apps?
here is my sys info:
Model: HTC HD7 T9292
OS version: 7.10.8107
Hardware version: 0002
.NET CLR version: 3.7.11140.0
In the end I must say that I'm glad to be a part of XDA forum among the best devolopers in the world, and I hope so that I will be able to help someone in the future after I get more knowledge and expirience in this area.
There's no working "jailbreak" for an up-to-date HTC phone right now. All you need, though, is a developer unlock; "jailbreak" is usually used to describe something that bypasses or modifies the phone's security settings; developer unlock is a feature built into the phone by design.
Until recently, you could use ChevronWP7 Labs (http://labs.chevronwp7.com) for a cheap dev-unlock, but apparently Microsoft has limited the number of uses of that tool, nd they sold out a month ago. No word yet on if/when they'll get more. In the meantime, there are two official ways to get dev-unlocked:
1: Purchase an AppHub (marketplace developer) account from http://create.msdn.com. $99/year, 10 unsigned apps at once, lets you submit to the marketplace.
2: Get a free student AppHub account through http://dreamspark.com. Requires a student email address and only allows 3 unsigned apps at once, but no cost and also lets you submit to the marketplace (if you're into that; please remember that this is a developer forum, not a "make my phone cool" forum).
Alternatively, you could downgrade your phone to pre-NoDo (build 7004 or 7008), set your computer's and phone's clocks back a year, and use ChevronWP7 Unlocker (not the ChevronWP7 Labs, the original one). Then, look for instructions on staying "chevron unlocked" as you install the upgrades on your phone. It's a mess but it's possible.
To try and increase the number of apps you can install (to an effectively unlimited number), and allow installing apps that use the capability ID_CAP_INTEROPSERVICES (which can be used to get an app more permissions than its sandbox allows) on Mango, you can look up "interop unlock" as well. If you use the legacy ChevronWP7 Unlocker and then carry that forward, you'll almost certainly get interop-unlock included for free (one way to simplify this would be to install the Htc Interop Unlock XAP in NoDo, then upgrade to Mango and follow the unlock instructions after updating).
Maybe it's the best option for downgrade, and than again update on mango. I just want to know is it gonna effect my phone in any way (I mean on bad effect). I'm gonna search here for that options.
Thank you for your answer and for your time. I appreciate it!
@mailman78
Let me know how this all goes for you, as I have the exact same phone (in Australia). I'm wanting to try the downgrade/jailbreak/update route, but would love to know how someone else went about it. Cheers!
I've done it without problem!
1. downgrade bootloader from 5.xx to in my case 1.69 (or other 3.xx, 2.xx, 1.xx)
2. install RSPL and HSPL
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18244911)
3. install custom ROM
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1476058)
Step 2. is VERY IMPORTANT, otherwise you CAN DAMAGE your phone device.
You must consult guys from thread-s that I gave you for Australia, I haven't spot anything about Australia! Before you doing anything, first take a time to read very carefully posts, comments and other things, BECAUSE I live in Europe, and here it's working (it's says europe htc hd7 devices)! In this threads it's explained very smooth and great!
I hope so that you will find something for you.
