There are guides everywhere including the first page of the dev thread.

And yes there is always a chance you will brick your device and it will never work again. The guides work for every version except the B80 and some B70s.

what are the chances? and why its happen ?
thanks for the help

The chances are different for everyone. Depends on how well you follow directions and still there is no guarantee. Either do or don't do

Rooting any phone can come with a risk, but it is a risk worth taking, also you could void your warranty when you root your phone. I used cf-root and for me it's the best root method.

It would not spoil you phone if you follow the instruction carefully.
Probably you will only get an annoying "Yellow Triangle" warning sign after rooting.

Is there anyway to root w/o unlocking the bootloader?

As the title says. I don't want to unlock it yet because it will void the warranty and i'm not sure i'm going to keep this tablet to use in the long term. So any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What android version is your tablet? If you have ICS you can just do what _that posted. If you have JB then you have to follow the directions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925230&highlight=without+unlocking+bootloader
After you do that, you can just go to the thread _that just posted a link to.

Also, I'd REALLY recommend learning what the prerequisites are AND what the differences are between rooting and unlocking. Those are two totally different animals, and if you are so confused, you should REALLY red up to prevent yourself from ending up with an expensive brick.

Wouldn't it be enough to flash a stock rom which is not pre-rooted?
Anyways you can't re-lock the bootloader so it'll never be "like brand new"
But neither I have an idea of how to do it
Just wanted to let you know, what my thoughts are and see, if you knew, that bootloader can't be re-locked
But I was thinking I could do something like this: (Can´t post website....) Anyway I searched for "How To Unroot and Remove CWM Recovery on Asus Transformer". He unroots his transformer tf100 with two files.
The problem is that I need other files than he uses. Where can I find these files?
There are unroot tools in the play store

+1
Flash stock rom with twrp and it will remove root and replace twrp with stock recovery.
Select your stock rom based on your bootloader. JB rom for JB bootloader and ICS rom for ICS bootloader.

[Q] About tablet - model

Hello everyone.
I wanted to root my tablet and have a few questions.
i was reading: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1689193 and wanted to know if when hes talking about numbers right next to the model, is that the Kernel version?
I have a B70K serial number tablet and wanted to be very sure about everything im doing before attempting to root my device.
So, what do I have to keep in mind when rooting my device?
Thanks in advance for the help guys.
Much simpler option and doesn't care if you are SBK1 or SBK2

Detection's advice above is great. In my first tf101 I used Frederuco's method which uses Easyflasher and it worked a charm. I got my other half a TF101 for Christmas and for whatever reason Easyflasher didn't work so I googled and tried PERI and it worked.
Please note that if you intend using TimDuru's ROMs 4.3 or 4.4 etc to use the TWRP recovery, and to flash the newest version of it once you are rooted. Frederuco's guidelines talk you through how to do that.
I was very hesitant before I rooted the TF101 - being a noob, but it wasn't as daunting than I imagined and the rewards of the much quicker ROM are well worth the 15 minutes that the rooting and flashing ROM take.

[Q] Root help needed. sch i545 kit kat 4.4.2

I bought a verizon galaxy s4 a few weeks ago and foolishly updated it. I now want to root it and i havent rooted anything in months but i wasnt to worried until i cant seem to find if you can root with version VRUFNK1. I found 1 thread where someone said they bricked there phone trying on this version. If it possible please let me know and what method to use.
you can actually root it safely only if you downgrade back to the VRUFNC5 bootloader , the use the vroot method.

I done some research and am very lost as to what to do. there are no clear instuructions on how to downgrade from vrufnk1 to vrufnc5 at all that I can find. can someone elaborate on this and give me a little more detailed instuctions and possibly links to the files ill need or websites where to find them. And is it possible to even downgrade without first being rooted? Sorry its been years since i have done this and it was way simpler on the kindle fire.
I have a buddy thats in the same boat, he's got a newer s4 and wants to rom it for his first time.
I am also in this predicament. I had a galaxy nexus that I would flash different roms to every week but I upgraded via Verizon to the S4 a few months ago -- bloatware is awful and is taking up over 7GB of my 16... Would love to get a jump on rooting, but I can't find anything on this build aside from this thread and another few posts that were also unanswered. Any help or direction would be great -- do y'all think there will have to be another way to root this build, or can downgrading be okay?
Same boat
I too am in the same boat, for some reason with i545vrufnk1, I can't root so want to downgrade the firmware to a firmware that allows me to root, tried all the various methods to root but for some reason I can't, think it might be the firmware or the knox software package.
I believe you could root with Towelroot.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using XDA Free mobile app
towel root won't work
I tried it with the latest official update and it won't work. I'm looking to root as well.
[How-To] Root I545VRUFNK1 4.4.2 (12-1-2014)
Look for this thread on xda search tab. It worked for me. Just follow closely.
I followed the downgrade instructions and got root back. Is it Verizon that makes it a pain in the ass? I don't know what I would do without this place and helpful people
