[Q] HTC Sense Photo Gallery Favorites

Hello
for those of you running SENSE, if you noticed in the Photo gallery you can add photos to your favorites.
You then get a "my favorites" album.
Unfortunately, that favorite list is not stored on the sd card. because after reformating i lost my favorites
I've looked a bit where it saves that list, but I can't find it.
IF anyone could look into that, i'd be very gratefull to be able to backup that file !
favourite photos
Even more strange, I was able to add one or more photos to favourites, I had a favourites album then, and for some strange reason I do not have this, and I cannot add photos either...
????

[Q] polaris footprints and PC: how to?

sorry for a stupid question, looked all over the forum, and did not find any answer...
I have a Polaris wit ELITE VI LITE WWE ROM. this rom includes footprints 1.0 build 1911.2229.
I took some photos using this program, but now I cannot export these geotagged photos.
The only options I have in the footprints menu are import, export, about. the "export" creates a file called "footprints.fdb" on the storage card, and that's all.
Can anyone post some step-by-step guide for moving / extracting / viewing these photos? I want to import them to my photoalbum on the PC (I'm using Picasa to store the album, it would be really nice to put the geotagged photos there).
Thanks,
Simon.

[Q] How do you use old pic files for mms?

So I have about 200 emoticons, gif's, ect that i will want to trans to new phone that I use in texting. I did see the jpeg in Zune, but not any of the Gif files. Does wp7 not handle gif files even for messaging?
My question is when you hit the attach button in messaging what are the options it gives you besides camera? If it opens pics are there catagories it gives you to narrow down what you are looking for or do you end up searching thru your hundreds of pics plus all of your contacts facebook stuff too?
Thanks for answers in advance.

when you hit the attach in messaging you get camera roll, saved pictures, individual skydrive folders, individual facebook albums (every album has it's own tile in the picture hub and includes folders for mobile uploads, profile pictures, wall photos). So if you create a folder with emoticons on skydrive or on the phone you will see a tile just for your emoticons and you only need a couple taps to get to what you need.
Thanks, so any problems using gif files for mms? Those files didn't automatically load to Zune when everything else did.

haven't played with gif files. If I had a problem with gif, I'd just batch convert them to jpg or png (if you need transparency). I don't think ani(mated) gifs will work, but I could be wrong

[Q] How to backup local contacts with their high res pictures ?

Hello,
Since I got a android phone, I always had an issue when exporting/importing my phone contacts.
When I flash a new ROM, I'm used to export all phone contact to a .vcf file, then reimporting them after. I use the standard stock contact app feature.
BUT, after having re-importing the contacts, all the pictures contacts are systematically pixelated, and I have to set all the contacts photo again. It's very long, It takes ages.
Does somenone know the solution of that terribly boring problem ?
I know there is 2 pictures associated to each contact : one in lower resolution, used in the app, and the other in 720p resolution we can see when a contact calls us for example.
I've tried many ways to solve the problem : dump and paste the database contact in /data/data/com.contactsblablabla/databases (with, of course, reboot and chmod) and some other stuff like that.. I have explored the contacts database, but no way to find how to solve.
I'm tired of searching, 10 years android exists, there is at least one solution to this courant problem ! I've never found yet.
Any ideas ?
I asked myself the same question yesterday, did a search here and found your post.
Digged a little more, and found some app : Contacts Backup Ultimate
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=at.specsoft.contactsbackupultimate
Small, free, and it does indeed backup contacts as a XML file and a set of 720x720 (on my phone) pngs.
I haven't tried a restore yet.
Just tried another app that also does the job : Super Backup : SMS & Contacts
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.idea.backup.smscontacts
It exports a single .vcf file, with embedded 720x720 jpeg (unlike the standard Sony contact apps which exports a .vcf file with only 96x96), which can then be imported by the standard contact app.

Edited photos only appear in Xiaomi photo app

First of all, i googled for quite some time to find a solution, but I didnt even find other people with this problem. Anyway, I try my luck here.
Photos taken with the camera appear in the xiaomi app as well as in Google photos and in Whatsapp and Telegram, if you want to send a photo via this app. So far, so good.
BUT: If I edit a photo with the Xiaomi photo app, the edited photo only shows up in the Xiaomi app, not in Google photos nor in Whatsapp, TG,... When I browse to the DCIM-folder with a file manager, the original photo as well as the edited photo are in the same folder.
Anyone has a solution or at least an explanation for this?
