Very cheap extended battery - Galaxy S I9000 Accessories

I ordered this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320737196301?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 battery last week it arrived this morning and it works great i have used it all day and its still at 87% It only cost £4.52 and it actually makes the phone feel better in my hand. Just a heads up for anyone looking.

This battery type has been discussed many many times on this subforum.
It doesn't have 3500mAh ... maybe 2500 ... maybe.

i never said it did, just that it was cheap and has lasted a very long time.

Well, if you are comparing the beefed up battery to the original 1500mAh sure it will last longer. The main issue is for how long it will last longer?
The poor quality Li-Ion batteries have a reputation of quickly deprecating over time.
I personally bought the momax 2700mAh because I know it truly has 2700mAh and it will keep that capacity over time. The downsides are: poor cover quality and the price (which is quite high if you compare it with the one indicated by you).

I agree, the quality is probably questionable and eventually im going to buy the one you mentioned. I originally bought this as a cheap test to see if i could deal with the size of the phone but to my surprise it lasted a lot longer than i anticipated.

I have the same battery, it lasts pretty good

I suggest you not to charge the battery using your phone. Charging takes longer and device gets hot. Use an external charger.

It says the battery has 3500mAh which is more than double of the battery that comes with the phone...
I just wonder if that amount of mAh would be possible

Wow that back cover (and the battery) must be HUGE! the camera area is recessed below the surface where the stock one comes out.
I'm sure some kind soul will try it and report back here.

i ordered one from the uk on ebay, should be here around next week, also i ordered the 1900mah battery which is better than the one that comes with the phone
My experience with these extra-large batteries with alternative battery case, is that they last longer than the original battery for a few weeks/months then last much less to the original.. Soon enough wont even charge.. They have a very short life.
I had one for the N95 8gb years ago.. came also with the extra-space back-lid.. sticking with the official mAhs...
most are the same
i have bought many many batteries for my previous mobile phones
all of them had a good capacity for some weeks or little months
after 3 months last less than my original battery
that kind of capacity with that price is too good to be true
so even if you buy this one dont quckly say it is good
just wait for 2 months of use and then have a conclusion
hope it was helpful
I've had mine for over 6 months.... Still the best battery I own. Easily lasts a whole day of interneting and playing games. Only time it came to low battery was when I was using it to record several hours of 3D footage.
Only issue is the size and weight.....

I have the battery OP asks about. And your opinion is right. In the beginning it lasted a lot longer than the original. After a couple of months it was worse than the original and I have used the original battery since.

Generic 1800mah batteries from Ebay?

Anyone use these or had any experience with them? Are they really 1800mah? I've had mixed results in the past on various devices using generic(mugen included) extended life batteries...
Samsung MM-A700 - Battery worked great for a few months then one day the phone would just bootloop. Put stock battery in and no more problems...
Sanyo SCP-8100 - No problems
Sanyo SCP-8200 - No problems
Sanyo SCP-5300 - Standard generic battery no problems
LG Env - Awesome extended life no problems ever.
LG Env Touch - No problems ever
Audiovox PPC6600 - No problems ever
Audiovox PPC6700 - No problems ever
HTC Evo 4g - No problems
HTC HD2 - Tried multiple brands and generics...all lies, all garbage..including the one that came with the extended back cover with built in kickstand
HTC G2 - No problems
MyTouch 4G - No problems
Any info would be great as I just ordered one of those packages including 3 "1800mah" batteries plus the rapid wall charger.... I figure worse comes to worse they are just all standard life batteries so it's still a bonus over having just one battery. Thanks.

Buyer beware.
Sent from a message in a bottle.
Just bought and used an 1800mAh battery from ebay.
Says on the battery that it's meant for the Sensation and Evo 3D, which is fine. But the battery life is pretty terrible.
My Setup: Brightness full, wifi on 24/7, mobile data off. Profile is set to 192MHz when display is off and 1188MHz Conservative when screen is on. Running on 2G all the time and the screen is on for about an hour before the battery is completely gone. Fancy widget is pulling in weather and location every 15 mins via GPS and wifi. Pulse reader refreshes every hour on wifi. This is HALF the life that my G2 gave on stock battery with same setup. Overall battery lasted for 8-10 hours before complete dead. And my setup isn't even that power intensive.
I don't recommend buying those cheap eBay generic batteries. You get what you pay for. Go with the anker, like everyone else is saying

I bought a two pack of the "1800 mah" ebaytteries and not only do they get worse life than htc stick batt, but imo are running much hotter. Just bought anker, and going through the breaking in period (charging and uncharging fully...) Very cool running, obviously better life already.

Too expensive. I'm not ready to shell out $20+ for a new battery. Best part about the ebay battery is, the 1800mAh battery was only a few dollars, and I told the seller I didn't want it. He let me keep it anyway and refunded my money. The battery life is pretty bad, about 20% less than stock. Lasts about 8-10 hours. But having a spare battery at all is great. Just that little extra boost when days get long. Otherwise I'm getting 10-12 hours of runtime on the stock battery, which is mostly fine for me.
It could be that I got a bad battery as well. Feedback for the battery is mostly positive

It's $10 for each battery plus another $10 for a wall charger. And your phone must have been a fluke, since the average battery life of the OEM battery is upwards of 6 hours.
Expensive is spending good money on crap that doesn't work well and fails in a short amount of time. The Anker is a good value. Value being good quality & functionality at low or reasonable cost. Value costs more than junk.
For me a Mugen might be awesome but the price point is wrong for me. I personally don't see the value in buying one. The Anker is a good value to me. Ebay batteries are of questionable use and suspect build quality they are over priced especially if they could damage my $600+ phone.
You have to decide for yourselves what value is for you. I appreciate a well functioning product at a reasonable price.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement.

You misunderstood me. I was looking for ONE battery at $10.
Bulk multiple buying =/= good deal
What am I going to do with two Anker batteries or the charger? I would only ever use one at a time, so that deal is unnecessary to me.
By the way, I wanted to ask anyone how the battery cover fares after multiple battery swaps. Does it get loose or out of shape over time? I'm afraid that might happen when swapping the battery often...

Given that the OEM batteries are $50 each, I'd like to know how $30 for two batteries AND a wall charger COMBINED is "too expensive."

Aftermarket Batteries

has anyone tried any of the aftermarket batteries, whether it be from a store, ebay, amazon, etc.
I ordered a 2200mah battery for my Infuse off ebay for $8.
I am going to try that out and see if I get anymore life out of it.
I would have gotten the 3500mah battery, but I use an otterbox and I dont think it would fit since it has the bigger cover to hold the bigger battery.
I work in a metal forging plant, so I have to use an otterbox for my work... so it is a must have if I want my phone to last.
I did order a 3500mah battery for my wifes Samsung Captivate.. She doesn't really use/need a case. I got that off ebay as well.. for about the same price.
I hope her phone lasts longer, because she can't even get a day out of it... hers is rooted running MIUI.

I just got one of them 3500 batteries from amazon and its a solid battery, it wont fit on the case because i have the Otterbox case and cant use it with this, but you can definitely tell the difference in how long it lasts, and the case fits on the back of the phone great it has tabs and snaps right in. I use this battery when i am at home using wifi or alot of power on my phone and use the Samsung battery when i leave. Great investment for $10 but when you have the case on the phone it won't do you no good.

Getting a larger battery will help, but there's a lot of ways you can manage your phone's power consumption to dramatically increase your battery's life.
Take a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1510745
All I've done is use the power management program Juice Defender (on extreme setting, so data is off unless I toggle it on), not use a live wallpaper, and use a Gingerbread ROM (R3VELATION). With light to moderate use I get about a day of life, and if I took further steps I could even get more out of my battery than that.
EDIT: Whoops, you're the same poster as here, so it looks like the new larger capacity battery has solved your battery problems. I'll just leave this post up here anyway since it might help others.
Would the bigger battery cause it to overheat? or damage the phone in anyway?

Came in here to ask the same question about aftermarket batteries...was thinking about buying the OEM one off ATT site for $30 because I don't see an official aftermarket battery and i'm not sure I want to buy a $10 aftermarket off of amazon or ebay because of stories I hear about cheap China made batteries exploding or damaging the phone in some way
I just placed an order for this.....
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-SGH-i...BMJ8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1332809949&sr=8-2
The description doesn't say so but all the reviews say it comes with an OEM battery along with the charger...great deal for $30 in my opinion if it is all OEM
The thing I've read about these batteries is they don't have a shelf life. Meaning as soon as they are made they start to depreciate. Then they sell the old ones on e bay, amazon at reduced prices as they don't last as long as a freshly hot off the press battery.
I have never had any luck in buying a extra mha rating battery, having it last an extra long time. I got Chinese 2500mah it don't last that long, and then I went and got a high capacity gold 2430mah it only last as long as a 1750mah , rather I have no idea how long normal is, as I got my infuse at a pawn shop used, battery last about 5-6 hours, normal usage, but what is normal? What is the basis of comparison? I mostly use it for movies, and wifi and, angry birds which eat my battery up.
My theory is the more you pay the younger they are, a 4 dollar batter last less then a 10th dollar battery. But I don't have the monies to buy every battery in all the price ranges to test and do all that techy stuff. To me it is just a grip shoot. Hit or miss.

All batteries age during use.
Aging factors are temperature and also voltage.
I think temperature is well known but I don't hear as many people talk about voltage.
Charging your phone to 100% and leaving it on the charger encourages aging.
Some of the cheapo's are not as resistant to aging as the stock batteries. Common story is they work fine for the first day or two and then start to noticeably lose capacity. I noticed that when I tried out the Fujei battery.
Adding to the whole mess as you alluded... evaluating battery life quantitatively is not an easy deal. My usage varies every day.
I get a rough feeling when my battery life is fading but it's subtle.
Battery Monitor Widget has a feature where it estimates your actual 100% battery capacity in milli-Amp-hours (1750 = factory spec but actual will be different and will decrease over time as the battery ages). I think that if you use BMW and allow your phone an uninterrupted charge from low voltage like 20% up to 100% (without using the phone during that period), then it will develop a pretty good estimate of your battery 100% milli-amp-hour capacity (because our phone does have a charging current monitor which BMW accesses, but it does not have a battery discharge current monitor). That's a lot of work, but probably not a bad thing to do once a month to keep track of your capacity so you'd see a trend like 1750 one month, 1700 the next month, etc. I might start doing that some day..
3500mAh Battery
It's been a week, and my battery life is going UP. I plugged in today, and at 1931 hrs today, I still had 61% of my battery life left. I have not had any appreciable decline in battery life, nor reduction in longivity. With the stock battery, my phone is completely dead by 1715. I unplug daily at 0800. My battery life has easily doubled by purchasing a no-name battery from an Ebay seller. I'm quite impressed with it, and I spent $80 on an extended battery when I had my TP2.
Has anyone try those 2500 mah batteries from ebay? I am interest in buying those since they are only 4 USD each. What do you guys think?

Best aftermarket battery?

Hello
Im going to put a larger capacity battery in my Desire Z and I wanted some recommendations. Also, normal sizes (as in demensions); None that come with a additional cover to compensate for the normal size this making the phone bigger.

Hi,
I'll also went with the Anker. 2 Days without charging even when using custom roms... Definetely a good choice for this Price!
riahc3, if you ask for advice, don't argue about there being higher capacity batteries, if you want the mugen go get it, but if you asked advice in the first place then don't get annoyed when people don't give you the answer you want to hear. Sorry, that's just the way I see it.
If you're after numbers rather than advice, take both. Look at my screenies, yeah I know I'm a light user, under clocked and had a sneaky charge in between but this was on CM10.1 build 15 which supposedly has battery problems, and as you can see I listened to music for a couple of hours as well. Also everyone else here has gotten at least 2 days between charge with Ankers.

I am also thinking about buying a new battery but I think that it doesn't matter how much mAh of the battery has. I think that real question is how will be after 6 months of usage. Most of these aftermarket batteries are start good but after few weeks or months they become useless. So we need real user feedback. Is there anyone who uses any of the aftermarket battery more than few months?
I've started to use JellyBaby v1.5 ROM and I've decided to buy new battery instead of new device.

New battery for the S4

Hello guys,
I am only getting 2h SoT on my S4, the phone gets really hoooot and the battery got "bigger", so it's dying. Which one is probably the best one to get? Anker, Zerolemon, Ravpower or anything else? I used some Anker ones on my previous phone and was quite happy with them.
How much SoT/battery life could I expect on a battery like these?
Cheers!

Some people said that ZeroLemon fixed the stuffy audio problem on their batteries now it has a space above the speaker, so you'll not have problems with/about this.
Never bought an Anker battery, i cant say too much about it, there are another threads about this battery in this section. But comparing ZL and Anker both have similar results.
I dont Know RavPower.
I have an ZeroLemon myself, everyday i got 9-12h screen, even after 1 year.
I bought one of these.

I got a RAV Power battery for my S4 off of Amazon for 12 EUR and I've been using it for a week, on stock vanilla firmware (but this is another story).
I get out in the morning at 8.30am and I use my S4 in the car for navigation (Waze) and music (TuneIn Radio or Google Play Music) for 1h a day (30 mins in the morning and 30 mins in the evening), then some calls, emails, whatsapp, etc. (no games or exotic stuff) and I usually get back home with a 40% battery around 7pm.
A colleague at work bought a Duracell after market battery for 24.50 EUR and he's not satisfied as the new battery gets very hot during simple use and he have to charge it at least one time during the day.
It has been just a week, but I'm pretty satisfied with this RAV Power battery!
Zerolemon 7500mah user here nothing to complain about.
Music sounds good because it has a gap between the battery and the speaker it actually made the sound better or somewhat amplified because it has space inside the TPU case that comes with it.
Using this 7500mah for close to 2 years now and still gives me 10-12hrs SOT max per day.
I use iPhone charger 1A and charge it only when i sleep, upon waking up its full charge.
after inheriting a S4 im not very happy with battery life, its a replacement off the bay..ie fake..so which one should i go for,,im in the uk so i dont think all the battery makes are available to me easily..cheers
ZeroLemon and Anker seem to be popular replacements.

thanks, yep defo need a new one, 38% before bed time and 2% this morning, think ill go with anker over ravpower
im actually in two minds wheather the battery is knackered, i put it in safe mode last night and it drained 6%, maybe a app is causing it, gsam battery stats doesnt tell me anything is draining it, maybe im over thinking it and just need a new battery full stop, the last one was a cheapo off the bay
one thing i did notice is when i charge it to 100% gsam is telling me its at 1200mah, weird
If you're in Canada and want a cheap fix, the Source is clearing out some $0.96 CAD battery cases for the S4 (and S3). Lots of trade-offs with using a battery case, but it's the cheapest solution.

I bought a "NFC-compatible" Perfine battery and the NFC didn't work.
I'm a big fan of MPJ batteries - the standard size are maybe 10% better than stock, and I personally rock a 8,500mah battery all the time. Used on the S4, Note 3, Note 1, and others.

That's pretty good for a stock capacity battery
I bought a few days ago a 5.050mAh HSA battery the same size as Samsung, I'm waiting for the arrival. I had one on my Optimus G and it lasted a long time. Highly recommend!
