[Q] Charge light while Xoom is on - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to get the charge light to be on while the Xoom is charging and on? I am running the Rooted Stock 3.2 and that so far would be the only improvement I would like to see.
I tried Tiamat's rom but I hated the extra problems at first. Is there a way or flashable zip that I can create to get that charge light on?

use rougue 1.3.1(kernel)
it has what you want.
i am using with rooted 3.2

[Q] Battery Life issues with 2.2

I had flashed the 2.2 EB11 rom then the EB16 rom. I have the Voodoo kernel installed as well...my battery life has been unbelievably bad (100% at 8am, 75% by 9:30, 50% by 11am, 25% by noon, dead by 1:30) with very minimal use - maybe 5 min of talk time, 10 min of screen time, very few processes running--wifi and gps are, however, enabled). Is anyone else having these issues? Is there any tweaks or tips out there to get better battery life, close to what I was getting with the stock 2.1 rom? Thanks!

Reflash. Some people find that this helps. Personally, I charge twice a day, but I'm flashing new stuff to it all day and use it heavily.

Yea, mine won't die halfway through the day but if I don't charge it while I'm at work I will be at about 50% when I get off (without using it much at all) and will die before I go to bed if I don't charge it.
As soon as we have official source I'm sure someone will whip up an undervolted kernel, which would give us the battery life we miss from 2.1
Sounds similar to the life I was getting on EA11. Reflashing didn't work for me, but switching to EB16 did and now battery life is similar to 2.1 before the undervolt kernel. Try reflashing EB16 and wiping dalvik and doing a factory reset.

BAMF (GB) 2.0-5 Charging Issues

My phone refuses to charge! What should I do?
Can you flash a different rom and radio? When I used the bamf rom, my charging light never came on but it was still charging.

Apparently turning off fast boot works, but I'm trying to figure out how to do that...
It's in settings>power. Uncheck fastboot, reboot and you should be charging just fine.
I rebooted while plugged in and it was good to go....had the same issue
Change kernel, mine is charging fine.
Alright I turned off fastboot. What kernel are you guys using?
I cleared the battery stats/data and rebooted and my thunderbolt recharged fine. Didn't uncheck fast boot option
I still can't get it to charge. It says its charging but it's actually losing power
What Kernel are you using? I'm using the modded Test 7 that Adrenelyn listed in the BAMF thread. I think Imo has a link up in his kernel thread as well. I haven't had any charging issues using this kernel.
2.5.3 test 7

I had plenty of charging issues using this kernel. My phone would take forever to charge. However the one that says "test4" is working fine for me.
Well after further usage I have to retract my last statement, Test4 acts the same as test7. I tried the suggestions mentioned here, (turning off fastboot and clearing battery stats and rebooting) and now all seems well. My feeling is that you can leave fastboot on but you have to clear the battery stats and reboot to solve the slow charging problem. Only thing I don't know is if we have to do it everytime we charge. Maybe someone who has tested more than myself can better answer this.

[Q] Nexus S freeze while charging battery

Hi,
I experienced this trouble in the last days:
while the nexus s is charging battery (I usually connect the phone to the charger during the night) frequently it freezes... the display become completely black and the softouch leds switch on, I need to remove battery...
Initially I think the problem is my modded rom (I use NSCollab 23), but yesterday I restore an old image (NSCollab 21) that is very stable (I used in the past for 3-4 weeks without problems) but same freeze happened last night...
I use original charger.

i also had this happen the other night running cm7. im back to a stock rom & kernel and all seems well.
Now I'm Triyng with SuperAOSP rom...

Thanks for your reply, NSCollab is a Cyanogen derivation.. But strange I experiencing this trouble all the night last 4 days after many weeks everything goes well..
I find discussion on this bug on Cyanogen forum now (can't post external url sorry)
have you been undervolting your phone? it happens to me when i uv too much.
if that's the case do the uv in steps.

No, I didn't touch cpu/voltage parameters.
Anyway yesterday I installed SuperAOSP rom and this night while charging no freeze.
stock roms & kernels seem to play the best with the ns4g atm.

Phone will not turn on?

I am running Weapon X 2.3.3 with faux 0.0.6 r2 oc to 1.4 ghz. My phone was in the holster and then i grabbed it to try an text someone and it was off. I tried to turn it on and it would not turn on. When it tried to turn on I had a battery icon with a red triangle with a exclamation point in the middle. Any one know what that means? I also put in my other battery out of my other G2x and the phone turned on fine. Any thoughts to what it could be?
Looks like it must have been a severely dead battery because it has been on the charger for over an hour and it just now started showing the battery meter like it is charging. I will see how it works after that.
That kernel messed up my phone as well. I had many random shutoffs and freezes. I had to wipe and reflash stock 2.3.3 OTA. Now I am running fine again.
Back do a batt pull and wipe and reflash stock 2.3.3 OTA and wait for the kernel to be more stable.

Dead battery. Simple as that.

[Q] unusual tf101 behaviour

i seem to be experincing a bit of an odd problem. its happened a couple times now. when i left for work yesterday morning i simply locked my transformer and left it on my desk. got home and it was off. when i locked it before work it was ~90% battery. turned it on and its at 65%?? after being off / sleeping for 10 hrs? also did it again last night . locked it and left it charging and again off this morning. anyone know whats going on? its rooted and running revolver 3.11.1 i also have it set to downclock when locked and wifi turns off after 3 min via revolver parts. running pandatest 1.2 kernel with an interactive daemon from 1.2 - 760 when unlocked and a conservative daemon when locked from 216 - 456
It's most likely the Kernel. Try running stock. that's what I use and really...the little over clocking doesn't help a great deal...and the little undervolting (which is most likely the culprit), doesn't help noticeably with the battery.
With stock kernel...my TF only loses ~1% in over 9 hours of idle.
ya thats what i was being to think and finally realised after it crashed in my hands. back to stock kernel for now. are the clemsyn kernels or the roach kernels any better?

I lost 26% over a 16 hour period yesterday. My transformer was fully charged at the beginning & sat idle for that entire time. I am rotted & Stock. I am at a loss as to what is going on. I should also note that airplane mode was also turned on & that I have tried the Auto Airplane mode app to resolve help remedy this.
(Just Read your other thread...you are stock stock)
Are you using any apps that are set to auto refresh at certain intervals? Is your Android OS one of the things listed in Battery stats that has a pretty high usage?
edit: try a custom ROM...

went back to stock kernel and my device was still on when i got home from work but i lost 20% battery in idle again. i made sure all apps were killed and cpu spy says it spent the the time i was at work in the 216mhz state, but the thing thats using all my battery seems to be wifi. on battery usage its at 80% of my battery life so im thinking the radio isnt turning off like i set it to. android os is only 2%. i have the wifi disconnect policy set to dc when the screen goes off and then via revolver parts set to turn off the radio at 3min after lock.

How about making a nandroid...then using the superwipe lite script...try a fresh flash of the whole rom...and not mess with any of the settings. That would be the only sure fire way to see if it's just your tablet that has gremlins or the ROM settings are causing it to go mad.
I use revolver the way it came except wifi was changed to 2 minutes after screen off...and I installed an ICS theme that I manually downloaded. I haven't used revolver parts to download and install anything.
ill give it a go tomorrow. got another 12hr shift toady

I my case when I looked at battery usage tablet idle was 76%
i actually think i found my gremlin. it was a combo of upnplayer and mxvideo. both were staying active and eating battery. softmedia and dice player with codecs seem a far better combo. thanks for all the help
