well... i was trying to get ext4 to work on my phone and i followed all the guides to no avail... i was trying to get it to work on the audio... FTW rom. then i thought i would try a different rom... so i wiped, factory reset and tried ICBINB kh2... when i did that... it went into a bootloop... so then i accidentally installed the stock+Voodoo-T959VKG4 kernel file, and it fixed the bootloop... kinda... so i said.. well let me try to get the phone completely to stock... so i go and odin the stock file with root. i am now in a never ending bootloop on the stock rom with root.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated...
NVM: Got it working... had to soft brick with KC1 file... the re-odined stock with root. Booted just fine

I was trying to flash my epic into a custom the Frankenstein Froyo. I followed all the steps. I put the .pit which victory_8G_100528.pit into the .pit section and i put SPH-D700-DI18-8Gb-REL.tar.md5 in the PDA section just like it says in you all walk-throughThe problem is it keeps failing on "param.lfs" part. I tried the fix for that several and several times but it just keeps failing. I'm sorry for a newb. But do I have to take the phone back to sprint?
Neverming the odin flashed finally worked. Now i'm stuck on flashing the phone. I had CMW3 on before the flash cause my phone was rooted. Now the CMW3 is all weird. Do I have to reroot the phone and reinstall CMW3 after the flash?
Well I was able to reinstall CWM3 after the odin flash and install the frankenstein zip, but now it's hanging at the samsung screen. What to do now....
I flashed back to stock 2.1 on my samsung vibrant.

the phone is continuously rebooting for the past half and hour. and i have no idea what to do now.
PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS.
im posting a photo of the "wierd" screen below. the quality is crappy, but i cant help it.
Were you coming from a GB rom? Be sure your not mixing bootloaders...Not sure what that is but if you flash just the stock kernel in ODIN, with the phone off (pull the battery)and using the button combo try and get into DOWNLOAD mode. you might recover it....or flash the Bali kernel and then try going back to stock again.

yes i did try flashing a 2.3 ROM,but it didnt work properly, so i tried flashing the stock 2.1 again using ODIN...it got installed, but later all these things started happening.
i even flashed the 512 PIT file that came along with the stock 2.1, but still no use.
can u please post the link to the kernel you are talking about and also how should i flash the kernel?
thanks for your reply.
hey the problem is solved. i installed eugene's 2.2 leaked build and my phone is back to normal now...!!!!
thanks for all your help. i really appreciate it...!!!
Glad to hear you got it...just be careful to know which bootloaders you are on, GB or FROYO... unless you have alot of problems with a ROM its not really necessary to ever flash back to stock...I flash rom to rom without any issue as long as you:
1. wipe cache partition,
2. then wipe dalvik cache and then
3. factory reset all from CWM...
4.then flash whatever .zip ROM you like.
Flashing back to stock FROYO/ECLAIR from GB with an odin rom you must be sure the stock rom either includes both PBL and SBL or no bootloaders at all and then your good.
Alright so just got the skyrocket and i've been really good with the galaxy s vibrant in the tmobile section so I understand the basics but I messed up.. I flashed the CMW in odin and that went fine then I tried to flash superlite 5.1 via CMW and I formatted everything except the emmc(external sd) and continued flashing the ROM. it got stuck in a bootloop... i tried the normal thing and pulled the battery and reflashed the ROM but same thing...I did have a backup but my dumb @$$ didn't think about it when i formatted the internal that it would wipe the backup I can still get into download mode but the computer won't recognize the phone nor will odin so I can't get back to stock. I can also get into recovery still but I can't get it to boot normal all it does is stay stuck in the bootloop not going past the samsung flash screen..can someone make a backup zip that i can flash or will this not work? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Just follow the process again and reflash it.
I've tried multiple times and continue to get stuck in the bootloop it almost sounds like it shorts before the phone goes back into the loop each time

wipe and flash the ics radio and then the rom
alright I will dig around and find the radio unless you have a quick link for me
modem can be found here
http://hive11.com/android/ics/ICSradio.zip
i would first do a darkside wipe
http://hive11.com/android/DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE_EXT4.zip
first flash the darkside wipe. then flash the modem. then flash superlite. hopefully this fixes your bootloop.
thanks for the help I will try the above steps and report back when i can
download the rom again, you probably got a bad file

You all fixed up? was it a bad download or bad flash?
Trying to help out my friend. He rooted his Galaxy S 4G and was trying out different roms and now it's stuck in recovery. He brought it to me--I can pretty much fix anything Android--I've helped a lot of people on XDA, but this one has completely stumped me.
I've Odin'd several different Official Stock restore packages, recovery packages, etc. Everything has the same effect, no matter the rom or the recovery, the phone will always (re)boot back into recovery. Selecting reboot system reboots it back into recovery. No matter what. I must have flashed Stock via Odin about 10 times today. Same results every time.
Right now it's stuck in the 3e recovery screen. But I can flash a Voodoo recovery, but it still gives the same effect.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a bootloader sequence anyone knows about, that he may have changed? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks everyone!
Follow the guide in the second link of my signature to fix.
Awesome! That worked! Followed the guide. I had already flashed stock, but I didn't know you could flash the bootloaders using a .jar package. It worked. I guess he jacked with his bootloaders.
actually, bootloaders would corrupt boot period. You'd be stuck in a "FIRMWARE UPGRADE FLASH FAILED" screen, or phone won't boot period. So, I think I know what the problem was.
When hopping from roms to other roms, specially on Kxx Based Touchwiz roms, your cache tends to get corrupted. Had you reflashed cache.rfs and a stock zImage using heimdall, it'd fix the issue, and data wouldn't vanish.
Please Help.
was running hyperdrive rls12 on a verizon sg3.. switched to baked. after that i cant get into recovery. i went all the way back to stock. unrooted and all.than i rooted again and unlocked bootloader i can boot into odin download. i can restart phone into rom. back to stock jellybean.. but every time i try to boot into recovery it says cant boot and puts me back in odin download. i tried through buttons and through rom manager. always the same outcome. phone is usable but i cant flash any new roms if i cant get into recovery. and i always to a clean flash. any ideas
