today me and pavethem released qb.
qb is a free 3d puzzle game for android, windows, mac and linux.
market: https://market.android.com/details?id=de.redlion.qb
website (with a pc version): http://bompo.github.com/mgcube
Guide the sphere to the exit. Only a block can stop it once the sphere moves. So use the blocks wisely to reach the exit. But it won't be as easy as that! Portals, switches and even movable blocks will challenge your brain. The game features 24 mind-bending levels along with local highscores and a time attack mode. Create your own levels with the ingame editor. Enjoy the 3d graphics and a soundtrack written by bitbof.

Free? Oh, going to try, thanks.
Thanks I will try it out also.
So, what did you think of the game? Any recommendations for future updates?
Thanks, I really like the game, performs good on my galaxy 3.
Maybe the sphere could be a little faster sometimes.
I actually downloaded this last night without seeing this thread. I liked the game, the only frustrating part was once in a while I'd launch a ball to its death and I'd have to start over from the beginning.
Any reason why you couldn't start from where you last were? Did you guys try that and decide it was too easy?

Could be that the game runs to slow on your phone. The sphere moves slower if you don't reach 30fps (Otherwise it would fly through blocks because our collision detection isn't good :/). Disabling the bloom effect in the options should help to increase the fps.

If you take a wrong path, the level could become impossible to solve. That's why it always starts from the beginning.
Cool, I will try
thanks thanks thanks
Sounds awesome, I'll give it a spin on my PC for a while and will download it on my phone later.
I love it!!
Thanks, rate if you like it!
Is anyone using the level editor?
Looks like a fun game
Anyone interested to get their custom levels included into the next update? If so then we could add a option into the next update to share your custom levels.
If anyone wants to have a look at the source code, the code is available here. It's cowboy coded so don't take it as a starting point if you are a beginner...
Cool game reminds me of the old dos game with the snake, was in dos editor i think. brain fart cant remember the name of it. Oh well thanks

Hi xda,
I'm new here, but wanted to post my first game to get some more feedback.
Android Market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rickboerebach.android.binarysudoku
The game is free, has no ads, requires no permissions and currently has 100 puzzles, which guarantee about 8-12 hours of puzzle time
The Binary Puzzle:
The binary puzzle is a new and challenging logic puzzle that you can solve by
reasoning. Only zeros and ones occur in the puzzle, but this turns out to be
more complicated than it seems to be. This app offers binary puzzles of various
sizes and levels. A last warning: The binary puzzle is quite addictive.
Rules:
Each cell should contain a zero or a one. No more than two similar numbers
below or next to each other are allowed. Each row and each column is unique
and contains as many zeros as ones.
Version 1.0.9 released.
Updates:
-Bug fixes
will definitely check this out later. Two of my favorite things

Great Feel free to suggest features / changes.
I've been waiting for a binary sudoku app for literally months. Thank you, sir, for bringing this awesome puzzle game to my phone at last!
Will install immediately, and report back on how I like it.
Great idea!
Here's a link for the lazy people:

Thanks for the replies. If you have any feedback or suggestions, feel free to post
Just updated to version 1.2.0 with OpenFeint highscores & achievements (suggestions for achievements are welcome)!
Nice game!
Good job man.
Thanks for creating this app! I love puzzle apps that rely more on the puzzle and less on the graphics & sounds!
Installing it now & will let you know.
EDIT: Going through the easy levels & loving the simple logic used (so far, simple
Questions
Each row & each column is unique - I presume that you can have the same sequence of numbers in a row & a column (just not 2 rows with the same sequence)? I haven't hit it yet, but want to know for when I hit them.
Are the solutions unique? Can each one be solved strictly with logic (ie, no guess needed to go on)?
Is this your own puzzle idea? I can't say I've heard of it before (will google shortly)
Thanks again!
Nice game -- just played through some easy levels. Definitely a fun little game.
Cool! You can add "easy" or "beginner" level
I'm really bad at sudoku, but I'm willing to give this one a shot since it's binary
Looks like a very solid app. However, would it be possible to add the functionality of adding your own puzzles? Like in OpenSudoku, where you can create your own sudoku from a blank grid; that way you can copy a puzzle from the newspaper that someone else has already filled in, for example, and still do it yourself.
That, and more puzzles, would be awesome.

Yeah, you can have the same sequence of numbers in a row and column and solutions are unique and can be solved strictly with logic.
Sadly, it's not my own puzzle idea i saw a puzzlebook with this type of puzzles at the local magazine store and pretty much got addicted. Tho, a puzzlebook is not convenient in the train etc, and there was no app for it. I'm a developer myself and decided to invest a day of work in making my personal traveling more fun, and introducing this puzzle to the rest of the Android world

This apps looks great. I'm going to download this and review it on my blog (Android Cowboy) as soon as I can. I'll put the link once it's posted. Hopefully it will help get you more downloads .
Thanks for writing a post on the frontpage, didn't expect it to be reviewed This will definitely boost downloads!
Also, thanks to everybody who downloaded (and rated/reviewed) the game

Yeah, great idea. I want to implement more community aspects, but I first want to see how things turn out. If the game gets popular, I can get a dedicated server and write an API backend for these kind of things

Hey, rickboerebach
Thanks a lot for your efforts. Your game is very amusing. It's, indeed, pretty addictive!
Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that the harder the level, it gets easier to reach more than one solution, but your application accepts one of them only.
Thanks again, anyway.
Best regards,
Carlos

Glad you like it. Each puzzle only has one solution People tend to forget the row/column uniqueness rule, maybe you overlooked that one? Each row has to be unique and each column has to be unique. Tho, you can have the same sequence of numbers in a row and a column.
Oops, you're right! Had forgotten that rule!
Thanks, again.
I downloaded your game and played a few levels, it's simple but challenging.
I really like it, I'm going to spend some more time with it at the university tomorrow.
Hello XDA!
I'm Bobbyloujo and I made a game called Plane Popper! You can get it on the Play Store. This game adds some fun new twists on the old Flash game Helicopter Game. Touch the right side of the screen to go up, release to fall down. Touch the left side of the screen for a speed boost. Pop as many balloons as you can while dodging fireworks and blimps! The game gets progressively harder as you pop more balloons.
Here's a gameplay video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNvl1UJ53Rg
Story time:
I made this all on my own. The programming, the graphics, the sound effects, I did it all. It started in November 2012 when I started to teach myself Java. I developed a simple game engine and then moved on to Android. Taught myself Android development using many online resources (including XDA!). Plane Popper started off using the Canvas drawing system but I realized that was too slow for this type of game. So, I learned OpenGL ES 1. That was probably the hardest thing. Most of the time spent programming Plane Popper was spent on writing my own game engine that uses OpenGL. I've started separating the engine from the game and I'm planning on releasing it when I have something presentable put together.
My only previous programming experience includes some Nintendo DS homebrew development using DS Game Maker. The DS homebrew scene has pretty much died off and I think Android is a great next step. I'm also a sophomore in college trying to get into Computer Science (part of engineering at my university) but I might end up switching to IST. Engineering is hard and stressful and I can always just keep teaching myself what I want to know.
As I said, I also did the artwork. I like making graphics just about as much as I like programming so a lot of time spent making Plane Popper was also spent making graphics. I'm not so good with sound effects though. Most of the effects in Plane Popper are just edited claps and fan noises haha.
So tell me what you think! I'm pretty proud of my little game as you can probably already tell . Initially there were some glitches causing the game to crash on startup. I'm pretty sure I fixed it but please tell me if it happens to you or if you find any other bugs. Also tell if the graphics look pixelated on your device. That may be a side effect of my fix.
My website is www.bobbyloujo.com and you can find some screenshots and videos on there as well as my DS work and a whopping 2 blog posts
Finally: many people have told me that the game is too hard. I'm planning on adding different difficulty setting when I get the time. Tell my what you think and if you have any other feedback let me know! Also, don't forget to rate and review it on Google Play if you like it
Any comments? I posted this late at night so I think it may have gotten overlooked.
Great game, I like the graphics keep it up!
Good game!
Haha, this game is pretty fun! And challenging in the same time! Good for killing time.
Thanks everyone! Soon I'll release an update with ability to change the difficulty.
This is awesome!
It's really funny game
Good job, the game is well-done !
Hello everyone, I've just released a new FREE game on the Google play market called "Bad Fin", it's a high score casual game.
The aim of the game is to stay away from the shark whilst avoiding moving obstacles.
I've had a few friends to try it out and tell me what they think but I don't know if I can trust their opinions.

I would love to keep improving this game, so please criticise away

The game looks very nice. The graphics are funny and the movement is smooth. I think an increasing difficulty would make newcomers less frustrated. I played it and liked it but I was unable to get trough more that 10 columns

Thanks, was trying to follow in the footsteps of games such as stick hero and flappy bird where the game is really difficult at first, but with enough practice you can get a really high score.
Such a hardcore game my highest scrore is 9. I think the player should get rewarded for not touching pillars. Big shark is acting like freaking Neo, dodging everything, loving life. IMO just slow shark a bit every pillar with crash/shake effect so good player can get away.
I really like how smooth it is and how it well it runs.
Here are my issues:
No explanation on how to control the fish
Tapping right should lower the fish instead of making it rise
Tapping left should raise the fish
Maybe these are just personal preferences but that's how it was intuitively for me.
Quite interesting app

Hi, thanks for playing the game.
1) Their is a "How to play" button on the first menu
2) I thought right would be more synonymous with going up, but I can understand your preference.
I may add text on the main game to help users remember the controls and I'll see what I can do about giving the user the option to change controls.

Great feedback, I'll see what I can do about balancing the game a bit more, at the moment the shark swims at the same speed as the fish. and if you don't hit any obstacles you wont slow down.
I was thinking of incorporating some sort of shatter effect when the shark hits a pillar but flying pillar particles may end up hitting the fish in the back, making the game much harder XD
By the way what kind of reward did you have in mind? a tiny speed boost perhaps?

Giving the option to customize controls would be too much hassle in my opinion. Just go for a simple text or graphic when the game starts that illustrates that pressing right will make the fish down and viceversa for left.

I was thinking about "hidden" distance reset. "The shark swims at the same speed as the fish", but let's imagine little fish got some acceleration, every time player face tanking obstacle - you just reset current velocity to initial value.
onLittleFishSwimming(dt):
t+=dt
Vf = Vi + a*t
onLittleFishCollision():
t = 0; // Vf == Vi (reset)

Nice graphics!
Hi everyone!
For reasons I don't fully understand (well, anti-spam policy), I couldn't post any link or pictures, so thanks a lot @kirito9 for adding the link.
About the 9gags comments, well, I'm an avid 9gagger (it ruins 1 hour of my sleep every night...), so I decided to show off my game to the community and ask them for update's material suggestion. And I got a LOT of ideas coming from it:
9gag.com/gag/agNjPGw/this-is-airmadness-a-little-game-i-made-i-d-like-your-suggestions-for-next-planes-environments-please
Feel free to do the same and suggest planes and/or environments ideas!
Cheers!
Julien
I must say the idea is a bit overused, but I really liked the graphics. A lot.
When I played it I failed to see some type of qualitative progression. A great improvement would be to change the scenes dynamically as if they were levels (sky then sea then land then volcanoes then...) but it might take you a lot to add many scenarios with other objects than rocks. Maybe with other landscapes you can add moving objects and increase the variety.
Meanwhile, if Unity supports tilt movement you can add it.
Hope you find it useful!
@randomlabs Thanks. For sure, the concept isn't new. It's really really close to a "Race the Sun" for example, but I wanted the environments a bit more real, less etheric.
I plan on adding more environments and planes. A "story" mode, where you have to finish all levels in a row with at least 2000 points is a very good idea. I'll consider that kind of udpate.
Julien
You play as special elite forces Sena on a deadly mission. Earth has sent you down to Planet Exis to find out the mystery disappearance of HammerCrew. Explore various caverns and find upgrades to your suit. Cutscenes between levels let the story unfold and epic boss fights keep you glued to the action.

I saw some downloads and if you have time any feedback will be appreciated.
To the person who downvotes every game thread I make and goes to googleplay to 1 star my game your a punk because you never reveal yourself.
Any feedback from people who have played Planet Exis can help me figure out what I did right and what I did wrong.
Hi!
Why so many permissions?
Hello, @Mr.HB, thanks for posting it in the Operation Undead thread, that's the only way I can come to know about your amazing work.
The feedback you wished,
The game is kinda reminiscent of the style, but I'm really an arse to say this about someone's hardwork, but the game's a lil monotonous after a while and the green kinda is overwhelming.
Its a lot of fun to play. The game is really enjoyable!
Thank you for your work!
I hope this helps.
And keep up the work man, I've been a following your work for quite sometime :good::good:
PS: I think the reason why you're having less downloads is cuz of the preview video in the 1st post. I guess it'd help if it showed more short previews of other levels.

Its the AD networks that require more permission. The only permissions I need are is media and file, the media to play music and file to save the game on the device.

Thanks for the feedback I been hoping that at least one of my games gets popular, so I can afford an artist. I can get a artist for free if its a casual game that doesn't have as much artwork, but for a game like this artist want to get paid. I hope this catches on so I can have an artist in the future.

I'd like to pitch in some advise,
The game displays just one ad, and that too is dismissable. Rather than that, why not display a fullscreen ad on launch and exit of the game, I know it's not too help full, but the time complexity decreases (if u know what I mean)
In some time, it could help you afford an artist, I believe.

I have to check on this because there supposed be 1 fullscreen AD on launch and 1 banner both of them dissmissable easily. I can't do exit ADs because google doesn't allow it anymore. AD revenue's are low so in order to make any money you have to get around 10,000-50,000 downloads to make pocket change ($20-50 a month).
Plus I don't like to fill the game with ADs I want the game to be enjoyable, I could have the game display video ADs but that would be annoying to users. I can use your help if you rate the game in the store that can help the game move up on charts.

I guess, you could show one video ad when the game is launched or rather, just one throughout the session the game runs. So no dissmissable ads, just a vid. That might help a lil with the revenues I guess.

Gameplay wise I tried to make it not too easy and not too hard how did the game feel to you? How far were you able to get before you felt it was tough?

Ok I tried to make the gae with fewer enemies but not too tough but in the future I will tone down difficulty. I will make a playthrough series within 24 hours to help . I really want people to get into the storyline and characters. Yes Operation undead had more humor than this one. The next game I am working on wil have humor plus be a bit easier.

Yes, that'd be great. Varied and more colorful levels with a lil more variety would just do the trick.
I don't think a playthrough is necessary. Just a trailer with the various levels
