new hboot 2.00.2002 - HTC Desire S

Do I really need the new hboot 2.00.2002, when I already have 6.98.1002 on my S-Off device?

u hboot need to run new 3.0 kernel but seem that proxuser make solution to run new kernel on old hboot too

But you are able to run the new one and any old ROM as well as the new ones
I figure that newer might be be better
No problems so far

ENG S-OFF and Ship S-OFF?

Hi,
I want to flash a new radio to my Sensation as I currently have a really bad battery life and thought it could maybe be the result of an non-matched radio. (Updated to Android Revolution HD 3.0.0 yesterday)
My bootloader tells me I'm Ship S-OFF, but I've read that I'd need ENG S-OFF to flash a new radio, but could not find any guide telling me how to "do that".
Do I need ENG S-OFF? If so, how can I get it?
Thanks for your help.
Find Bin4ry's thread in dev section (it's a little hard to find, old thread but still) and inside that thread you can download PG58IMG.zip file. Then just flash that file and that's it
Edit: Here is the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122053

Btw, I'm not sure if you need ENG S-OFF to flash a radio

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone else know if I really need ENG S-OFF to flash a new Radio? I don't want to do it if I don't need it..

I've already installed one PG58IMG.zip file a few weeks ago, which was a bit "bigger". Am I supposed to just install the "new" one "over" the old one? Or will there be problems?

Installing a new ROM does not override the radio, installing a new radio does. If you don't know what ENG hboot does, don't flash it. You don't need it, and if you don't know what youre doing you can brick your phone.

I do know what I'm doing (I think xD). I just mixed up all the information I got, so I wanted things to be cleared up a bit.
What I just want to know is, what is the difference between Ship S-Off and Eng S-Off? What is responsible for giving acces to Nand making me able to install a custom ROM? Ship S-Off, right?
I'm really confused right now xD

Ship S-OFF is enough to flash a recovery so you can flash a ROM. If your ROM needs a different radio the chef will let you know and will likely provide instructions to upgrade. ENG s-off opens up more commands that can potentially break a phone if you do the wrong things.

Thanks for the share. I got a few questions though. Is this from the ROM that was leaked two months ago (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1281040)?
The version number are the same but i'm curious on why the radio/hboot come out now instead of two months ago when the ROM as leaked.

It looks like the Radio is not stable with previous firmware (hboot 1.17/hboot 1.18). As my advise don't flash this radio with hboot 1.17/ hboot 1.18, you will face too many stability problems
You should not use it with hboot 1.17

I agree with you, did in same way, and working without any issue!
I think Hboot 1.19 is included in his bootloader zip and it will be updated when flashing that zip via bootloader.

What's the advantage of doing this? Does it make 2.08 base more stable? If I update to hb1.19 will that bugger things up if i go back to older radio for a sense 3 rom? Let's face it 2.08 is not stable as 2.3.4. After I restore all my apps I get force close on system process and reboots

how do i change the splash1 to my own can you change a file in PG58IMG, as it wont let me change it via adb/fastboot now just says failed?

Is it true? and any change log?
Or just the radio upgrade?
could someone upload a rooted version pls?
Wouldn't this be part of HTC removing the patents they lost against apple? HTC are ment to be releasing new updates for all phones.
And then again.. Why would they release a new update of froyo when Gingerbread was released?
This makes no sense?

in fact it makes sense kinda cos they never did release ota ginger. the last official for the desire its still the froyo and the ginger ruu was only for developers and not officialy supported.

Bravo Oxygen r2.
Website has two confusing explanation:
1. "Downgrade protection, these HBOOTs cannot be overwritten by an OTA or RUU, unless you flash a downgrader HBOOT first."
2. "Will my phone stay S-OFF forever?
Yes and no. As soon as you decide to flash a stock RUU that has a HBOOT update in it, this hacked HBOOT will be overwritten."

Q - Virtuos Saga v1.0

because of some funny forum regulations I have to ask here...
Does
[ROM][May 23]Virtuous Saga v.1.0.0 [3.04.401.1][Sense 3.6 Android 4.0.4]
support 2WCR(two way call recording) as his older brother Virtuos Affinity which I am using since december??
If not then when expected to implement that?
Hope some developers of this ROM will read and answer
No. This is a kernel feature and the source for the 3.0 kernel isn't available so it can't be added to the ROM.

If you don't have a problem with your current radio, then it's not necessary to flash the new one. It's really completely up to you.
Edit: I just saw your hboot; if you're S-on, you won't be able to flash a new radio anyway.

Awesome, well, then you can decide whether you want to flash the radio, or not I, personally, have seen a huge improvement with the latest radio, but that could be the total opposite for you. So try the radio out for a day or two, and if you have any problems, you can always just flash your old radio again.

[Question] Best way to downgrade Hboot now that we have s-off?

any tip, help would be apreciated.
im a old semi-dev (like semi-god lol just a joke) but mostly for samsung and motorola devices.
this is mmm, lets say my semi first HTC device, i briked accidentaly a HTC Sensation 4g, resiving an ota, i forget to change my cid.
There is no best way, there are many ways.
If you are s-off, just run a ruu of your choice with the hboot you want.
Check what cid you need for the ruu (HTC__xxx) (because a ruu will still do checks). I prefer a og HTCcid over supercid anyday, you have experienced that already.
cid is now easy to change with a fastboot command (or leave the supercid).
