Ok, I'm told the GS3 is supposed to get global roaming support through a software update. My question is in remote areas of the US where service is only available through AT&T (Snowshoe, WV for example) is there some way to unlock the phone to roam on AT&T's network here in the US? Would putting an AT&T sim in work? Any other ideas of how to accomplish this? Any input is greatly appreciated.
Hi,
I'm with Verizon Wireless and have unlimited data plan, and want to keep that unlimited data, so a friend of mine, from Puerto Rico is selling me a Galaxy s3 from T-Mobile Puerto Rico and wanted to know if I can unlock that phone and make it work in US Verizon Wireless.
Any advica will be very apreciated,
Nope, not even close. T-Mobile operates a primarily GSM network whereas Verizon's base network is CDMA. There is no compatibility whatsoever between a T-Mobile GS3 and VZW.
I thought the galaxy s3 was supposed to work on an carrier. so, not even going to verizon, getting a micro sim card and activating it?
Is it possible to switch from StraightTalk to Tracfone (Prepaid) on a rooted LG Optimus Extreme? If so, how?
Straight Talk and Tracfone are basically the same company. The concern is the type of network the two phones are functioning on. I think Tracfone is GSM only, where Straight Talk provides both GSM and CDMA phones. If the phone needs to be unlocked that process could cause you to lose root. If the carrier on your Extreme is AT&T or T-Mobile you should be ok though.
Can anyone recommend someone to unlock this phone ? Most code providers only do gsm and the cdma people I've found that support the phone cannot unlock this phone. I need help before Page Plus quits accepting non Verizon phones. thanks
I have a friend with an unlocked but unrooted Galaxy S7 originally from Rogers (G930W8).
She has T-Mobile, and her phone has always worked fine. She has moved to a spot where T-Mobile service is essentially non-existent, and wants to know if she can use that phone with Verizon, which is apparently the only carrier with decent service where she is.
Does anyone know this?
Thanks.

Should work, as with all US carriers if you're not using a US model phone the band support and network speed won't be as good. But if T-Mobile works then Verizon should too.
