You may have better luck if you leave a short description here of what you want done so devs know what they're getting into.

What I need is kinda like c:geo. To be able to mark spots on a map and when you click on that mark there will be a page to rate for example a restaurant. I'd be glad to go into more detail if someone could help.

How is that Google Maps any different? You want to create your own spots?

[Q] HELP!!! Tutorials On Application Development

So I want to make an app but have NO experience...are there any tutorials? I want to make simple and advanced apps(maybe for some extra cash? Lol) any help?

Why don't you go to the official android developers page?

Not everyone knows how to find the pages they need. Perhaps provide a link? I assume he hasn't come across that yet since he's asking.

Programming is always hard. I suggest starting with a simple app that has 3 screens and a couple of buttons for interaction and maybe some images.

Do you have any suggestions for staring apps for this

First of all, do you know how to write in Java? Because none of the tutorials I have found include that part. You will find it very hard if you don't! Pick up a book on Java, and read all the way through it first. I found books better than online for some reason. It doesn't matter if the book is a few years old, many of the concepts will be the same.
Then find some beginning tutorials for developing Android apps. I've found a few, and I will update this if I find any more, but here are some:
http://hackaday.com/2010/07/12/android-development-101-–-a-tutorial-series/
http://www.vogella.de/articles/Android/article.html
http://androidwizard.net/ -- Make sure you have a look at the beginner ones first, because there are many tutorials here.
Then if you require more detail, move on to the info at developer.android.com/ as it is more advanced (well its aimed at users who already know a bit).
I would also learn just some basics on how a program flows. It is essential since most programmers know several languages or are able to know how to read code without knowing the syntax. After you get the basics down, look through all the examples given with the SDK and see if you understand it. Hope that helps. Good luck!

I read "Sams Teach Yourself Android Application Development in 24 Hours". It was pretty cheap and they also have a java one. It was a nice start, pretty good explanation of code and space out each part so not overwhelmed.

Should I read the java one first? And where would I get this book? Im just wanting to learn this.
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
I only read the android one. I would say read the android one and if you are lost after the second or third chapter, read it again (they are short) and if still not understanding then get the java one. It all depends on you're background and current knowledge...also remember Google is you're friend for words/statements that you don't recognize. Hope that helps, and.you can get book at barnes and noble or borders. It seems to be a common book.

Recent Apps In Status Bar.

I'm just wondering how I put this back into a ROM if it's been removed by the Dev out of personal preference towards dislike. I happen to like this feature and was wondering how I might put it back into Bolted ROM? Any information would be helpful
just hold "Home" button to bring up the recent app list
I feel as though you underestimate my intelligence as well as don't understand my post. I know how to hold the home button to bring up the recently used apps pop-up, I was stating that I preferred them in the notification panel. If you could try reading the post in its entirety next time and provide useful information that would be phenomenal, otherwise keep snide remarks to yourself

I can't argue with your intelligence, as all you can do is beg for someone else to make customizations for you, that takes a lot of intellect... GFY

Beg for someone to make customizations for me? Really now. Last I checked my last post asked to be pointed towards a do it yourself guide. Also the hostility is unnecessary. Why resort to such ill mannered forms of conversation because I rebuked your unhelpful and unnecessary post.
Also, if I might ask what do you do? Do you develop roms? Kernels? Anything? Or do you just download a rom and kernel developed by one of our very talented Devs like the rest of us? If that's the case you're no better than myself, because you can't make your own modifications either.

Did you ever get help on this? If not what ROM are you running and I can throw something together for you.
No help as of yet, I'm running bolted rom. If it wouldn't be too much to ask it would be greatly appreciated. I don't have much but I could donate two dollars and more when I get paid.

I would be interested in this as well. I think its a cool UI feature. And I don't get why people decide because they don't like it personally they should be vocal about others not being able to get it.

Same here. I have yet to see a dev give us the option. I guess most are like sheep and simply follow what seems popular. When we first got our Tbolt display units (I'm a VZW sales rep) this feature was one of my favorites.
I'd also be willing to donate to a good solution.

I think incubus had a flashover for warm z on the incredible that worked. Doubt it will work on this though.
Also ihtfp69 ported the feature from new sense to old so maybe asking him would help.

Require Password To Remove Application?

Hello everyone.
As the title states, I'm looking for an application/mod that'll prompt me (or an individual who find/steals my phone) for a password when they attempt to remove my GPS tracking software.
I am running a Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 that's rooted and running sensation rom 1.9 and the hardcore speed mod kernel.
Is there already a mod/application out there that does this?
Thank you very much in advance for your time.
Ps, I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I searched both google and the forums here and found nothing. I didn't spend an hour looking, but a valiant effort was made.

Can't be donenunless your GPS stuff is baked in enough to survive a factory reset; hopefully it is .
Idk about removing it but there are suppossed to be apps that can kock it when launching it, I believe; if I remembered the name(s) I would write it here.

Thank you Spidey01. I appreciate the response. Shame it wasn't the news I wanted to hear though lol.
I wonder if there'd be a developer willing to create something that would function in this way. If only I knew how to make apps.

With Google no matter what you do it will not be fool proof. A simple reset will wipe anything that you can do to prevent it.

Hunt4r not be rude buddy but Xda is place that is made you to learn how to do it on you own also. there are many tutorials just requesting not many people are willing to take the time out of there day to do it just to please one person. my best answer dude would be to find which launcher your gonna and start making a theme.
i simply theme my phone using Ninjamorph and Rom toolboox.. IM not a Dev but its best to learn instead of being on a MAYBE waiting list... best of luck
I'd be willing to bet this is the wall in question...
They're right though dude, you'll have a much greater chance at getting it if you learn and make it yourself than getting it made for you for free.

What, you want me to post all 1,729,022 wallpapers? I can't even begin to guess everyone's taste... It's much easier for everyone involved to post the website, as opposed to images which get downscaled so far they're unusable on this tablet anyhow.
Also, just how much of this entire thread was because you needed to get 10 posts?
Use the multiquote option if you want to quote multiple people, and don't doublepost.

I am just wondering about your rambling, specifically you comment about 10 posts. What in the blazes do you mean about that? Do post come in 10 pack or something? Common sense would imply that if I needed to get 10 post for some reason that I am unaware of, I would have probably posted each background or wallpaper individually. hmm
