I found a workaround for not seeing the icons on the right of the screen.
get a small piece of white label paper and match icons with pen. Cut and attach label to side of tablet than cover with scotch tape. works for me

When I attach a micro HDMI cord to my tablet a black bar appears over the action bar (Am I using the right word for it?). For some apps this will cut off the bottom portion of the display. Is there any reason for this? Is this just how it works?
Yes. I have it too. I think it's just corection from 16:10 to 16:9
In the attached pic you see the red line across the top of the phone for LED notifications
but when there is a notification a tiny faint almost impossible to see (ie pointless for a notification) dot is flashing just on the right side.
Is this red string of what looks like red lights spanning most of the width of the phone so it can flash using more or all of the width?

That image you have is of a sensation XE. The red colour is just paintwork on the speaker housing to compliment the other red highlights found on the XE. It's not a row of lights. The dot is all there is. If you take the cover off while you have a notification, you'll see there are no more led's on the phone for what you're looking for.
TL;DR: impossible.
ah ur right.
gaaaaaah.
<random complaining about stupid design of hard to see tiny LED>
thanks for the response
I can barely use the shape and equation recognition tools. I draw a shape or equation, it usually works fine to begin with, but after a moment it disappears. If I then draw it by hand instead, afters some time the shape I drew before will pop back on top of what I just drew or wrote. If I try to erase it and draw it by hand again, the original shape will still reaper again after some time. Even if i throw away the whole page and add a new one that shape still reapers.
I can't draw two or more shapes, when I finish drawing the second one the first one disappears (e.g. I cant draw a table like they do in the demo vids).
When changing between drawing tools they will sometimes keep the previous tools pressure sensitivity (e.g. changing from brush to the first pen will give me a very thick and pressure sensitive line. Changing the other way will give me a very thin and not pressure sensitive brush)
Are these common problems in S note or is there just something wrong with mine?
I prefer having my clock on the right side of the top bar. Doing that, all my status icons are pushed towards the center. I usually have enough of them that one gets obscured by the hole punch (on outside and inside display, in portrait mode). Usually it's the alarm or bluetooth icon that gets hidden. The hole punch is in the exact right position and size to perfectly hide an entire icon.
Is there a way for the icons to 'skip' the hole punch? Maybe a way to add an extra icon that will always appear on the 4th position, only in portrait mode?
I expect this issue to have come up on other phones as well (S20?), but this is my first phone with a center hole punch camera.
The picture in picture screen does not move anywhere.
o this is not a glitch. Samsung actually added borders that the picture in picture screen can't go in.
Is there anyway to unlock the edges of my screen? When watching videos I'm sure everyone would prefer it in the corner. Not middle of screen. So u can work and watch easily.
in my case, the floating window can be moved to any position to the sides, that is, it always stick to the left or right sides
