I've been using ADW EX and when I start up my TF there is this weird black bar that appears at the bottom of the screen like a dock....but my dock is hidden.
I have to swipe this down to get rid of it.
Is there some setting that I'm ignorant of?
It's a themed or skinned dock bar to hold your apps. You can disable it by going in the ADWLauncher EX settings and going to 'UI Settings' > 'Hidden Dockbar' and unchecking 'Use as Primary' and the very top one which just says 'Dockbar'.
Cheers...

thanks very much...that's been driving me crazy!
Yeah, I don't care to much for it either because it shrinks your icons down too small plus it hides any apps you have on the lower row.
Cheers...
A little OT, but this brings up a good point: documentation. Has anyone found any for ADW? There are a ton of options packed in there, but I have no idea what most of them do, nor is it easy to find the one or two options you may need because they're buried so deep.

Ander never wrote any. Maybe if I have time later I'll quickly write something. Cross your fingers and hope that I don't have practice.

I REALLY hate the placement of the SIP changer when the soft keyboard is up. There are so many times when I am typing that I accidently hit that tiny little *&^%$% triangle, and it slows whatever I'm doing down until the damn chooser opens.
I'm looking for a way to either eliminate it, and possibly put the chooser it's self under the settings menu.
Start > Settings > System > SIP changer.
Or is there a way to just hide the bottom bar all together while typing? I know this is possible, because the bottom bar is hidden while using Pocket CM.
Anybody... PLEASE help. I have looked at several apps (can't remember what they were called anymore) but none of them did what I am asking. Does ANYBODY know of a good solution, or ... ya know... is anybody willing to put one together?

Every time I search it brings me to things I'm not looking for. Which is why I initially posted this in D & H to begin with... I was hoping for a quick solution.
Hy Guys....
just a quick question to all Manilla Chefs out there....
i had the idea to edit the Manilla, when its possible, to get a Sliding Manilla...
i mean if you look at the iPhone, when you drag the Screnns to the side the next Screenwill smoothly slide in...
in Manilla, whipping with the finger on the screen just manilla jumps to the next page...
i think it shouldn't be the Problem to get the pages too slide, the bottom slider did the trick allready... just want this "goodie" on the hole manilla...
and i doenst need to get the greyed out and big tab Icons while sliding...
hope you understand what i mean...
just an idea but someone has some ideas or knowledge to did this trick!
I remember when the Diamond and Manila 1.0 first came out, there was an animation each time you changed tabs in Manila. It was deacticated later since it was way too slow and people wanted their TF3D experience fast and snappy.
its not very handy to have the slide function as per iphone as:
say you want to go to the second last page, the mannilla scroll bar allows to get there in a single controlled swype but if you had the page scroll like the iphone you would have to scroll through each page or scroll backwards (if its possible) to get to that page.
the point im trying to make is the iphone scroll may well look pretty but the single swipe manilla scroll bar is far more efficient! ask yoursel, is it usefull?
I understand that it wouldn't work very well if it were like the iPhone. Personally I would just like to see the animation back like it was when the diamond came out, I know it was slow then but surly out snapdragon should lap it up now?......
i can confirm that i had the multi swap idea earlier...
nothing to complain about that... this not as handy like now is...
but it looks more smooth...
i found a youtube video where you can see the "old" manilla style did this... its not just swipe the page... .. that was the cause because htc calls his interface 3D ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6TLqDcAJDo
look around 5:40 .... there the guy starts to use it...
maybe its still in the sense? only disabled as we did on tfl3d on diamond by our own? any one knows the keys anymore?? just searched the forum but didn't find something...
hey correct me if i'm wrong...
the 3d slide effects only happens on diamond when clicking a tab...
when sliding the figer over the tab bar it is like in sense 2.5 ... big curtain with big tab icon will apear??

I agree, i think it looks crap when you swipe and tap and a tab and there is no animation. If it faded or slide it would be much better. Even the old style was really nice. I think it actually makes it feel more responsive too because its doing a animation while the page loads

Have a try with MaxManila 2.5 v 2.7 Main beta: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551489
This gives you the possibility to swype from page to page (from left to right or vice versa).
what??? Where can i set this in MaxManila??? It´ll delete the animation for the shortcuts... but i cant see an option for a page sliding....

the only way to find this out is to install MaxManila 2.5 version 2.7 beta. After that you'll see that you're able to swype from left to right or vice versa without using the "bottom icons slider". It also will not delete your shortcut animations. It even will allow you to hide the shortcuts and bring them back with a swype of your finger from bottom to top of the screen. Read the post of the OP carefully to understand what this theme does.

i can also swipe without maxmanilla without using the tabslider from page to page!!
just wipe obe the main aera...
what we want to get is an animation between the page slides...
dooing this now just jumps from one page to the other... not nice, and it feels and looks like a bit rough ... not as smooth as iphone did this... and i think the smoothnes factor that many iphones users evertime despite is this sluggish hopping page changing in manilla....
Microsoft did it a way better in the new 6.5 Starmenu... just look great and give a good feel...
also the Tab Slides is "animated" like we wannt... why HTC didn't do that onthe "mainpages" ???

its a starting point to look into an old cab and looks what manilla files did there...
but i'm far away from knowing the manilla depths that we need to implement them...
maybe one of the manilla gurus out there do the trick for us poor people
it would be so nice... if we can slide to the half...hold...and back... like in Iphone Today or Mobile Shell....
I was using a theme on CM 5.0.4.1 and it allowed me to place shortcuts on the home screen in the lower left and lower right of the screen.
The shortcuts would appear in the location where the dots for navigating instead of swiping appear normally.
I wish I could add more detail, but that's all I remember. This feature was very convenient for me.
TIA for any help provided.

nexTheme has Dialer and Browser at the bottom.
Ideally I'd like to be able to choose what fills the 2 slots, but I'm good with the updated launcher of nexTheme
McFroger3 - Not exactly, but that would definitely work.
JJackson9995 - I think that's the one. And I think I was able to long press on the dialer and launcher and replace them, or maybe I just filled the spots they were occupying on the bottom row with other shortcuts that I needed.
Either way, both of you have provided assistance that is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!

Sounds more like a home replacement? Home++ or something maybe? Don't think it was a launcher mod as I've yet to see one where you can customize the buttons down there without modifying code.
Hi!
How can I change the hexagonal icons layout in the Start and Settings menu ("Honeycomb") back to the square layout? The hexagonal makes me feel dizzy.
Thanks
It's nearly impossible to do that, since the code for the hexagon layout is hidden deeply.

Yes, the Start Menu and Setting menu. Sorry for not being clear
OK, no problem. Well I'm surprised that Denko is saying that there are a lot of cabs for that, because as far as I know, it is not possible.
Will await his reply then.
OK, I'v found something. A small configurable application called XTask, download link here.
Btw, if you don't know where to start, just click on the taskbar and drag the line down. The XTask Settings allow you to configure its internal menu and also replace the Start Menu entirely with its own diagonal icon layout.
Alternatively in its settings set it so its file manager starts when clicking the Start Menu icon and browse to Windows\Start Menu\Programs directory. It is normally alphabetically sorted and you can arrange shortcuts to various subfolders. It can be even more easily done with Total Commander or from PC.
And for phone settings click on Control. It arranges icons by same strange order, probably like the original Start Menu, but maybe I'll find how to change that.
Just finished my latest app T9 Launcher, and it shaped up real well so I thought I'd share
Launch apps and contacts with predictive T9 dialing, much faster than your regular launcher and appdrawer.
It also learns your usage patterns thus giving you better results over time.

Does this launcher support cyrillic app names?
Here's what I posted in the Play Store reviews for this launcher:

Maybe even an FAB to launch the dialer would be nice.
Just something that lets me launch it without a home button press.
I went from Smart Launcher to Z Launcher and then Z Launcher to this.
Great work so far.
Orientation changing is important, too. I hope you implement that soon.
It would be much better to make it not a classic launcher, but a standalone start menu, or even a homescreen widget. Will it be possible? I do not want to lose Google Now on the leftmost page.
PS. Why only three columns on apps screen? Are the grids adjustable?

Thanks! I was thinking of a FAB, but wouldnt that just take up screen space? The home button is a nicer solution in my opinion In the next update I implemented gestures aswell (For swiping the dialpad up), you should try it out.

I finally got the update and tested it. It seems if I try to swipe up on that blank space under my widgets, it does not launch the dialer. I can, however, launch the dialer if I swipe in the widget area (as long as there isn't a scrollable widget there).
Well. I do like this launcher. It has rooms for improvement.
What I like.
1. Its fast.
2. The kind of launcher that I want.
3. Its beautiful. <-- This is important.
4. The app section and contact section. Really nice.
What I don't like
1. There's no setting to hide certain apps. <This does not mean Porn. It means Paypal and other banking apps.
2. I don't like pressing home button activate the dialer. I prefer to press home button just to go to home so I can see my widget. And no toggling either between Home and dialer. I prefer to use swipe up to call the dialer part. While I don't like this now, I may learn to like this.
4. Too little room for widgets, or home screen.
5. No shorcut dialling?
Suggestion:
1. Take a look at MiHome Launcher from Xiaomi, its my current launcher. Its a standard launcher with built in T9 app dialer. Swipe up from any screen to bring the dialler. No contact dialer like yours though. Seems like it was taken down from Play Store recently though. I use it because I like the launcher. Swipe up with two finger brings up the access to hidden apps (with password to access them as well).
2. If you want to keep 1 home screen, maybe make it scrollable? I have Gmail, calendar, Keep, and prayer time widget. I certainly would not like to go to those app just to see some current information.
3. Maybe the option of increasing the home screen?
4. The Home button situation. This is one of the core in your app. So, you got to polish the usage of this. I can also say, the user should learn to adapt to this new operation.
5. Maybe you can add dialing shortcut?
I guess lack of room for widget is weighting on me to use this launcher by default. If you look at my attachment, the wifi shorcut is something I use lots of times. I have four home screen, 1 for Keep, 1 for Gmail, 1 for calendar and prayer time and the main one, that includes my wife contact widget, and wifi shorcut.

Thanks for the feedback, Ill try to adress your points in the coming version(s).
Hidden apps: On the todo list but not currently a priority. Two finger swipe up to show sounds like a good idea.
I have speed dialing a bit higher on the list (Long pressing a dialbutton for a chosen app/contact)
And I am thinking of ways to add more widget space.. Scrolling might be a solution to this. I am also thinking about vertical paging. I do not however want to add more screens to the left or right, I think that will clutter the experience. What do you think?
Home button situation: I think that the home button to open the dialpad ads to the speed of the launcher. The back button does what you describe. I know that its not like other launchers but I dont want it to be just another launcher
And I added a Home-toggle-preference to the Settings menu on another users request, your welcome to try it out.
I try to represent two end states with the buttons, so that a stressed user can button mash to get to what they want;
Home: End state is dialpad, Search
Back: End state is widgets, Start
And really, I appreciate your feedback. I hope you will stick around for a few versions to come I have set of the weekend to adress bugs and users concerns.

I vote for vertical pages. That is something new. I agree adding them horizontally is not a good idea. Scrolling down and up isn't intuitive for me. Bonus if you can make the vertical page a loop, like some Samsung phone, I really like the loop mechanism.
I don't have any concern other than widget space. And the learning part is really cool.

It's Serbian cyrillics, the Russian T9 layout is slightly different.
1 .,;:!? (no letters)
2 АБВГ
3 ДЕЁЖЗ
4 ИЙКЛ
5 МНОП
6 РСТУ
7 ФХЦЧ
8 ШЩЪЫ
9 ЬЭЮЯ
PS, you can find all T9 layouts in TouchPal.
---------- Post added at 02:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:35 PM ----------
PPS, the launcher must support at least two layouts simultaneously, e. g. English and Russian, the second layout must be selectable in options.
My suggestions:
- Allow hide apps in drawer
- Ability to add shortcuts to desktop.
- When contact has no avatar set, Android uses placeholder - white letter on color background for it. When adding such avatarless contacts to Google Now Launcher or Nova they use this placeholder, maybe you can also make contacts page to use it?
- Lock desktop option, so widgets can't be moved/deleted
- I would also like to suggest redesigning of window that appears when longpress on app... It looks too cluttered and not material at all. More like something from early ICS era
+1 for vertical scrolling of center screen!
So far it's very unique I'm curious what direction it will take.
Here is some features you can add to make your launcher even better :good:
-Disable swipe down from anywhere to toggle notification bar.(toggle only if i swype down the not bar)
-Show contacts only from gmail or phone. Now there are contacts from G+
-Home button goes to HOMe and not in the dialer.
-My phone is in usa language and the number are in 123-456-7890 format. So dialpad dont find them.
EDIT: I cant find my stock dialer app in the app tab!
EDIT2: I added a widget clock( i have samsung with stock kitkat rom) and i cant delete it.When i press it, the screen for widget and wallpaper appears.

Oh, yeah. I have my nav bar disabled. When I enable it, the launcher looks fine.
I found a bug that will probably confuse a lot of users.
If you go to the Applications tab and press the home button, the dialer pops up. Press home again and it'll switch to the Home tab, but with the dialer still open (and the same application list as the Applications tab has). Pressing home a third time hides the dialer finally ("Home button toggles dialpad" is on).
There is no difference between the Home tab and Applications tab when the dialer is open.
Swiping up and down gets awkward, too, because it also scrolls widgets and the application drawer.
I think, if you still want to use home button to launch the dialer, it should switch to the Applications tab and then launch the dialer. Also, having the dialer open automatically when swiping to the Applications tab would be nice. As well as removing and reorganizing tabs (I want to remove the Home tab, since I don't use widgets).
Here's a video of the home button action bug.
http://1drv.ms/14J1FAa
Also, it seems that the scroll up and ripple animation lags when the dialer is called up on the Home tab, but not when it's called up in the Applications tab (Probably because it doesn't need to scroll up before rippling there). Just one more reason to switch the Home button behavior to launch the dialer in the Applications tab instead of the Home tab.
Sorry if this post seems like it's all over the place, I'm just exited about this launcher. It's so close to becoming perfect.
