some of the bloatware can not be unistalled throug the application. you need a 3rd party app like titanium back up to do that

just ODIN whitehawks rom and youll get root access with CWM recovery too .

I I actually tried Odin first and it didn't work and I tried the forum link that was posted that did not work either

you probably do not have the correct drivers. unistall the current ones. reboot the computer. reinstall the ones posted on the bible. plug the phone into the computer, but on a different usb port. let it install. unplug the phone. start odin. shut the phone off. go into download mode. odin whitehawks rom with cwm.

No Root

Hello All: I am heping my daughter put a custom ROM on her sidekick but I am really stuck in step 1. Shemessed it up and I did the ODIN recovery method to restore it back to usable. Now I am trying to use superoneclick to root it...I put the drivers on like 4 times and I have triple checked that there is USB debugging turned on. Plugged in the phone, launched surperoneclick 2.2 and click root. The program gives me " killing ADB server" then "starting ADB server" and then nothing...
Its not rooted, but nothing else is happening. Any guesses as to what I did wrong. Thanks in advance!
What your going to want to do is ODIN to KG2 , there are thread's in this section to help you . Once you do that reboot your PC & phone then enable usb-debugging then open up superOneClick & select psneutar exploit then it'l do it for you .

kj2 no longer exists
Anyone have kj2 odin tar file that I can use. The link on the dev page takes you to a dead link.
http://www.multiupload.com/0JGFMKW8CQ
enjoy , just uploaded it , it include's updated superoneclick for root also .
Sorry to be a pest
except the file I really need is kj2.tar.md5 or kj2.tar I have all the other compoenents.
Go get Kies from Samsung and update your device yourself. After that, root your phone.
Use Google to solve the where and how questions.
That saves us all time and trouble.
GPM Odin to KG2 then root & cwm then flash a rom .

good
Downgrade SuperOneClick
I had the same problem, and I fixed it by using an older version of SuperOneClick, It also made it so that clockwork recovery couldn't recognize the file system, and to fix that I just booted into the forced (red) mode of clockwork and it all worked from there.

SuperoneClick

I can't unroot my phone!! I have version 2.3.3. Whenever i try to unroot, the program goes not responding at ADB Command: Pushfile. Help please!!
1. Check samsung drivers installed on your computer
2. Try latest version of SuperoneClick
3. In worst scenario use odin to go to stock.
Yeah, I was gonna tell you to screw it and use odin.

Odin is very easy to use.
Here are the links. Use either one. The directions are included on the very first post of each thread.
[ODIN][UCKD5] Odin - Stock (100% or Root+3e) - (Update 06/05/11)
[ODIN][UCKD5] GTG's Ultimate Unbrick - Return to stock - Working PIT included
(Post 391 has the link for GTG's Unbrick)
You're golden as long as the Samsung drivers are installed and the ID:COM field populates a COM port when you plug your phone in while it's in Download Mode.
What can I do if the COM port doesn't populate?
I thought I had my phone bricked, couldn't use Odin because I didn't have a COM port recognized. I ended up using SGH-i997-UCKJ4-One-Click to get my phone bootable, but now I have cannot make or receive calls. I can txt and use WiFi, but no calls. I also found (not sure what made this window come up) that I have an error " Invalid MCC/MNC. What does this mean and can this be fixed?
At this point I have FW 2.3.6, Baseband Ver. I997UCKJ4, Kernel 2.6.35.7-I997UCKJ4-CL694350, Gingerbread.UCKJ4. Also trying to flash back to an older ROM, it failed because I have some 3e permissions thing that is denying me. I see there is a way to have it not ask for permission, but because I don't have a COM port recognized, I can't use Odin to revert back to an earlier ROM.
Anyone have a solution?
Ok, I did a factory reset (again), but this time I cleared everything from my USB storage. Now when I go into Odin, I have a com port there...!!
Hopefully I can get it from here. Thanks anyway.

help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was on ics but I planned to go back to gb my usb port had some problems so I had to put usb wire tightly to flash 2.3.6 firware from odin but it did not boot because it could not mount data that is I could not factory reset now the phne is not being recognized by the computer please is there a way of rooting from Samsung recovery so that I can go back to ics

phone is not being recognised by the pc so how can i use heimdall
So can you not get into download mode?
I can get into the download mode but when I connect the phone there is no response from the computer
I've been trying to get people here to download mobile Odin lite and run it...send their file to chainfire so our device could get the support for it but....I guess they just don't understand what we are missing out on.
I've sent him what was asked for but if others wont jump in and do their part....I give up.
All he asks for is a .pit,a kernal, and the mobileodin.txt that is generated from the mobile Odin program
I think you need to connect your phone in download mode go into device manager and delete all the drivers under the USB section and try these steps
TwitchyEye said:
1. Go here and download heimdall suite.
https://github.com/Benjamin-Dobell/Heimdall/downloads
2. Extract and open drivers folder.
3. Connect your phone in download mode.
4. Run zadig and click show all devices, your phone should then show up in the list.
5. Click install drivers, it should say drivers successfully installed.
6. Try running the heimdall one-click of your choice.
7. Go back to step 3 and flash it again this time with bootloaders.
If it still fails, uninstall whatever USB drivers you have (one guy says he had to uninstall all of them, usually just the phone will do) reboot the pc and try again.
Actually you should go ahead and do this last thing first.
Godspeed

No its in magda623 thread in general where he claims it works on his phone .
Its basically Odin on your phone so you can flash back to stock for what ever reason....whether returning back to bml from mtd or a soft brick etc. Without having to hook up to your computer.
Lol no it won't brick you it simply creates a txt file that you send to chain fire so he can see what he needs to do to make our device compatable.

[Q] Are there any drivers for the LG Optimus Net on XP??

I have an LG Optimus Net LGL45c which I had installed CWM recovery on and flashed to stock using these instructions. Due to the way the /system/app/mover app works ( No second chances ) and my fat fingers I had to flash it again because I broke bluetooth and can't see the apps once they are moved into /data/app with the Root Browser Lite app even though I can get into the folder. Anyway, so this time it said completed and I selected back and then reboot system in CWM recovery, but it's hung on the LG screen. I can't seem to get Odin to see the phone or find any drivers that Windows XP recognizes to install for the phone. I've ran the file LGAndroidDriver_Ver_1.0_All.exe and installed those to no avail apparently, though unlock root was able to root it before, so I'm a little confused as to why Odin can't detect it, if I can't flash it without using CWM recovery it looks like it's reached it's end of life, as a phone anyway. Please, does anyone know how to flash this phone using Odin from a XP PC that would be willing to point me in the right direction? I have Odin and the stock rom from the link above but I can't get Odin to see the phone.
Thanks for any help.

List of problems im having that i cant fix

Im looking for help on fixing my SGS4G.
Here is the current list of problems:
1. Phone isnt recognized when i plug it into any computer (i download all the drivers, Kies and Odin both cant find it, and 1 out of every 10 tries my computer will recognize the microsd card and treat it like a normal sd card)
2. My Dialer and Messages will open for 3-4 seconds and close without a force close screen or anything. Obviously this is really annoying :|
3. Im rooted but trying to go back to stock to redo this whole process over is becoming a pain.
4. When trying to flash a custom rom from ROM manager i get the signature verification failed message.
Im about to try the heimdall one-click package to get back to stock and see if that works...idk if it will find my phone though.
My system info:
Firmware: 2.3.6
Baseband: T959VUVKJ6
Kernal: 2.6.35.7-T959VUVKJ6-CL694130
Build: GINGERBREAD.VUVKJ6
If i manage to get back to stock/unrooted where do you guys suggest i go from there? im kind of out of the loop as far as where we are with ICS or jellybean or any of that :|
Thanks a bunch in advance and sorry if this is nooby
Also:
adb devices shows nothing :\
USBDview shows nothing for my phone...i plug it in with debugging on and all it does is charge my phone
First problem. Do not use ROM manager. Download ROM zips and flash through CWM/TWRP.
Have you tried using a different cable when connecting to PC? Some cheaper cables do not work well, or at all. I have a blackberry cable that I only use for this.
Have you tried alternate USB ports. Sometimes that may be this issue as well. Also, some people have better luck with Odin, while others have better luck with heimdall. You may want to try the alternate and see if you have the same issue.
I would follow the guides on going back to stock. You may have old conflicting drivers so you may need to completely remove old ones first.

I use the cable that came with it and the one that comes with my girlfriends phone which is a different phone with no problems. You might want to mess with the usb configuration on your computer

As far as the dialer and messenger app backing out automatically that was an issue with all bml gingerbread roms. I think there was a fix but I'm not sure. Cm7 is mtd based gingerbread and it doesn't have that problem.

Jiggly,
Ive tried every USB port on my desktop and my laptop. Both of them im reinstalled the drivers on. On my desktop the moment I plug it in it says the device malfunctioned.
Usbdview didn't show anything like the guides said it should. (HTC something...there was.nothing)
ROM manager is just on my phone ive never actually used it other than to boot to recovery

The phone goes into download mode but heimdall still doesnt detect it, windows still tells me the device cant be recognized and im out of ideas.
i went into regedit and deleted all the samsung folders and reinstalled the drivers fresh but im still not getting anywhere...
flash the blastoff kernel, or some custom GB kernel.
Let it convert to ext4, it'll take 10 minutes,
flash a rom through CWM which you will now have.
Im missing something here...but i cant flash anything as everything is unsigned and i cant get out of 3e recovery. ODIN, heimdall etc still wont find my phone from my computer(s) and everything i attempt to flash is unsigned.
Can you boot into your ROM?
boot into my rom as in use my phone? yes the phone functions fine with the exception of not being able to plug it into my computer to tether it/use mass storage and these darn auto close problems with my dialer/messages
Well i was able to flash a new kernel with CWM then upgraded to cm9.
didnt realize contact sync didnt work so i lost all that info :\ computer still says the device malfunctioned but my messaging and dialer apps dont auto close now lol
