oh, and trinity does too. it supports voodoo and all the other nexus s goodies available. plus, its by far the fastest kernel(or most battery efficient, depending on which trinity kernel you chose).

its ok to flash a 2.3.4 kernel onto 2.3.5, provided that your phone boots it. and if it doesnt, just flash another. heres where the trinity kernels are. they come in many flavors, from 1ghz and up. there is also a "teuv" kernel, trinity extra undervolted. its at 880mhz, and made for battery saving. dont let the 880mhz scare you, its faster than many 1.2ghz kernels and much more battery efficient http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12931657&postcount=1

[Q] Kernel suggestions for i9020T running MIUI 1.6.3?

Just flashed latest MIUI rom onto my i9020T. Curious about custom kernels. Any suggestions?
Netarchy's kernel. Find it on Dev forums
Use the universal one.
I like netarchy kernel also with the added under volting. BE CAREFUL DOING THIS. I'm 40 mv lower then the default values. I get great battery life, almost 30 heavy use.
I've read through that and from the jist of it Netarchy universal 2.3.3 seems the most stable. But MIUI 1.6 is 2.4 based so how does that stand with/against the 2.3.3 kernel?

whats the best combo

whats the best combo for rom and kernal for the g2x.
im about to install the eagleblood 2.3.3bg (since it has the stock camera) and was looking for a kernal so i could oc it. thanks for the help
also whats best 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 or 2.3.5????
For the most part, rom choice is going to come down to personal preference. As for kernels, faux's is pretty popular. Personally, I'm running eagleblood 2.3.3 and stock kernel.

I am running Triggers 2.3.5 with Fauxs 0.3.5-sv OC to 1.4Ghz and it is awesome. No reboots or issues at all.
There is no kernel made for the ota (2.3.3) roms only 2.2.2 froyo, 2.3.5 cm, eb2.3.5 so basically any rom that is based off the new 2.3.3 ota will not have a oc kernel for it yet LG didn't release source, and best rom kernel combo is definitely cm, and fauxs latest or morfics it a toss up, but honestly the newest nightly runs so nice u wont need one and it has voodoo built in and boot up time is super quick, idk IMO oc kernels are not needed with this phone it is already sick quick I get 3100 quadrant with cm stock kernel, now if u want to save battery life grab a UV kernel
blondie or brunette?? LOL its all up to ur taste for roms and kernels! Im having a great time using the rom and kernel on my sig! But all depends on you and your phone... (some phones dont like oc/uv), the only way to know is to flash, flash flash and flash (watch out not to become a flashaholic...)
Any rooted 2.3.3 ROM, with the Stock Kernel, and LG Camera App.

Best rom for nexus s

hello
what's the best kernel?
what's the best rom ICS for this devise?
Regards
Hard to say which ROM is the best because they all have their pluses and minuses. Same can be said for kernels; each kernel will perform differently according to which ROM you choose. I'd suggest reading through the ROM ops and selecting the one you like based on features and theme. Once you've found a ROM you like, flash several different kernels to find one that is most compatible (also doesn't hurt to read kernel ops as well for feature details). This process, although a little more time consuming, will likely give you better results than relying on the objective opinion of others. Also, bedalas compiled some awesome reference guides on on rom and kernel performance that's a must read for anyone looking to get the most out of their device
You without me is like Harold Melvin without the Blue Notes
ok i understand your point of view
but
wicth do you recomend ?
kernel and rom ?
I prefer cm9, stock kernel.
plenty of other options though.... get experimenting is the advice, find out for yourself which one you like.
till date, CM9 with stock kernel is smoothest Rom. But it not fastest (based on benchmarking scores).
I am running nuhetri's v 3.0.1 with AirKernel (with voodoo colors), and running awesome!!
CM9 and CNA ROM + matr1x kernel
or
Bugleast Beast + Thalamus kernel

Is this cm9 that is the best rom with matrix kernel. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399035
Running the 4.0.3 OTA on i9020a (with all the fun radio experimentation to make it work) and AirKernel 3.45. Runs beautifully.
Cm9 + matrix

AOKP / Milestone. And Air Kernel has been the best for me
Nexus S (GSM i9020a)
AOKP (Build 28)
Air Kernel (3.45)
OC 800/100 (Lionheart)
Live OC (100 - Noop)
v6 Supercharged
running bug less beast. Rock stable and pretty fast too

I quite liked pixel-rom and cyberg v9 but right now im on nuhetris 3.0.1 because of the battery-life...
I also prefer matr1x kernel! It has the best performance/battery ratio imho!
But as stated before: try for yourself!

I flash roms therefore i am!
As someone mentioned, get experimenting, because you know better than us what suits you the best.Me as flashoholic I tried many and so far for me the best is CM9 and MIUI.Atm I´m running MIUI4 with T132 muenchhausen and it is really great. In the matter of kernel I like Trinity´s T132 muenchhausen and the Matr1x kernels and CM stock ones.CM9 also comes with great kernel which is running pretty smooth. If you like to try GB rom than I would recommend CM7,MIUI 2.3.7c,Oxygen.I runned MIUI with Trinity´s 1,5GHz kernel and it was rocket..But it is on you to decide what suits you the most.Don´t worry and try it is awesome to dicover new roms Happy hunting.

fast stable great menu and awesome colors , i try all the roms and i stay with this for 2 days ...
I tried CNA + Air Kernel.. but battery life was suffering.. currently trying out Pixel Rom 1.6 Fully Touched.. seems decent, is giving decent battery backup.. and i liked the Notification toggles also..

[Q] Anyone using an older Kernel on ICS ROM and have stability ?

I keep flashing and flashing kernels.
Air
Matrix
Steve Garon
Trinity
Franco
etc
etc
Does anyone use an older dated kernel of any of these on any ICS ROMS and have such stability and good battery life that they are unwilling to upgrade to anything else ?
If so, what is your combination and setup ?
Thanks
Griff
airkernel 3.0 is what I use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21935053&postcount=1 its been good to me

I'm quite happy with the stock CM9 kernel. What ROM are you using? Have you tried sticking with it's stock kernel? There's generally a reason the ROM dev chooses the kernel they do.
I have had good results with CM9's stock kernel and the Air kernel for ICS. I had instability with matr1x and trinity.
Im using franco's 1.1 and while it's very bare bones (no bln/bld/voodoo/oc etc) the kernel performs amazingly well and I couldn't be more pleased. I got tired of reboots with other kernels and haven't suffered even a single one yet.

[NS4G] - Kernels for Gingerbread?

Where can I find gingerbread kernels for the NS4G? All i can find is ICS.
I'm using Matrix 11.5 on Gingerbread with BLN & voodoo. I believe that was the last version he made for GB however someone correct me if i'm wrong. Runs flawlessly. Here's the downloads for all matrix kernels
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/matr1x/NexusSandNexusS4G
Here's a few that I use ...
Nexus S
Netarchy
Jame Bond
Lucid Nexus
GLaDoS (downloads not available anymore)
Trinity
franco.Kernel
Steve Garon kernel
Matrix
Apocalypse-Talon
Lynx
Nexus S 4G
Netarchy
Trinity
Yennob-Base
Lucid Nexus
Apocalypse-Talon
franco.Kernel
GLaDoS (downloads not available anymore)
Matrix
Here's the full list AFAIK.
Big fan of franco's work. Speedy. Trinity is another awesome one imho.
Wow thanks guys! I'm suprised we don't have a sticky for this..
There is a sticky, but it hasn't been updated in forever. And since GB is considered as the past by many, I doubt this would be VERY useful.
