Here is the problem:
I have tried all followings to root my device to install custom roms android martket, because I DONT HAVE ANDROID MARKET INSTALLED on my phone on original rom cause of the distributors idiot policy:
Goldcard Method (with different type 6 SD cards i.e.Kingston 2GB,San 2GB etc.)
Different 5 type rooting tutorials(xdaforum also included)
But I still cannot manage being a root
I'm a windows guy,so I tried these methods with my linux geek (they are really good on it) friends. Still nothing.
So I called HTC Turkey and Europe to unlock my phone because I didnt bought it with any contracts. They said that in April an update will come, so I already know that from the RSS's.
Any help is welcome. I really loved this phone but cannot use as much as I want to.

Hey everyone,
I have downloaded the ADB driver, the downgrade file and the stock 1.32 PD98IMG.zip . I've copied the Stock 1.32 zip file to my SD card and didn't put it in a folder. I've opened the cmd window and navigated to the downgrade file and had all commands written succesfully their and I've got the final # and typed the final 2 commands.
The problem is when I reboot my phone with volume held down. It opens the bootloader and then it says that an img is not available or wrong, then it continues to update and eventually says update has failed !
Where did I go wrong ? What do I need to do to correct it ?
My phone's Software is as follows :
Android version : 2.2.1
Baseband version : 12.28g.60140fU_26.05.27_M3
Kernel version : 2.6.32.21-g46445e7
Build Number : 1.84.720.3
Software Number : 1.84.720.3
Browser : WebKit 3.1

did you have problems with getting the # symbol? I only get failed to set prot mask
I think you cannot downgrade with this version (YET ANYWAY!!!! )
I have not heard any news about a downgrade from 1.84.720.3!!!!
So i think you maybe out of luck or you will just have to keep searching for a downgrade answer or just wait untill someone cracks it?

I rooted mine but when I tried to backup the rom so I can flash a new one

i'm on linux mint and my phone in on froyo.
I obviously tried to boot with the latest version of superoneclick. it opens properly etc BUT it keeps saying "waiting for device"

I am tempted not to upgrade so I don't get into trouble rooting.
I wanted to wait to make sure there is root available before upgrading it.
here is a nice (though elaborate) guide to downgrading your rom so you can root it: theunlockr.com/2011/10/25/how-to-downgrade-the-g2-desire-z-desire-hd-and-mytouch-4g-back-to-froyo/
it's not the easiest guide, but it works from my experience.

tried many tools, seems new HTC official 2.3.5 with sense 3.0 is patched against all available rooting methods, should wait a bit longer for a new tool to root
although there are some "HTC stock 2.3.5" that are rooted, but it requires removing the original os and replacing this one, such as:

Hi all. New to the forum and brand new at rooting android phones. After a lot of reading and searching and trying I managed too achieve root last night on my Desire hd running 2.3.5 using the Ace Advanced Hack Tool. It took a few attempts for the phone to accept the downgrade. I had to run the hack tool several times to achieve this. In the end as the effin manual says I had to turn off all anti virus and close non essential programs. I also removed any anti virus apps from my phone. I don't know if it was coincidence or not but I was about to give up and had unplugged the USB cable and was in the bootloader menu about to reboot when all of a sudden it read the zip file on the SD card and downgraded the ROM. After that ran the Hack tool again and Now rooted, S off and Custom ROM (CM7) installed. One other quick thing, after installing CM7 on boot up it went into a boot loop. After searching found out you have to clear/reset factory settings and clear cache in custom recovery before flashing a new ROM. Hope this helps.
edit - forgot to mention I had the bootloader unlocked from HTCdev site but re locked it just before the downgrade started working.

People it really works flawlessly...; just re-lock your bootloader if unlocked from HTCdev.com and use an empty, clean sd card... andof course read all the manual. Then you can let show begin They did such a BIG AND PERFECT work! i'm Amazed and impressed! thank's a lot people who made this possible.
some help needed to root, downgrade and then flash HTCDesireHD
hi guys - I am having incredible difficulty with this phone. I have rooted and flashed samsung galaxy and huawei mobiles in the past so im not totally oblivious. I bought this online and it came from singapore, its working absolutely fine as is but I want a custom ROM and total control over the phone etc...please help me with advice if you can id be very grateful. Thanks - Ben

this STILL is not working..i am trying to use the AAHK kit
i have read the manual
i am now using a computer that has nothing but winXPpro and the htc drivers installed that came from the AAHK, no anti virus, no anti-malware, no apple sh*t, NOTHING ELSE
all i can think of is that my phone IS running one of the build versions that requires a downgrade as mentioned in the manual (details listed in my original post)
or
i DO have a HTC Dev Bootloader and its not locked as mentioned in the manual
i know nothing about locking or unlocking bootloaders, but Ive been to HTCDev, registered, logged in and tried to follow that process as follows:
i select my phone HTC DESIRE HD* (there is an asterix because "* Indicates HBOOT update required.")
continue through disclaimer and agree etc
download PD9810000_Ace_Sense30_S_hboot_2.00.0029.exe
when i run PD9810000_Ace_Sense30_S_hboot_2.00.0029.exe i get error saying i need to upgrade to 3.13.707.3 (On your phone, go to Menu>Settings>About phone> Software updates> CCheck now.
After you have updated,please run the RUU again to upgrade your HBOOT to unlock

this is what i get in recovery mode.i used DFT_RSPL_WP7FG2..serial became USB".running the programme-Microsoft sync 4.5 installed-all is going well until i get error message.spl version max available was 3.14.failed anyway.next i ran the WP7FG1 programme and now i got no serial or usb showing up on recovery mode.
is it cause the bootloader has been screwed?i read somewhere downgrading is necessary to update to the new 7.8 roms(spl 5.12 not supported so..)
what can i do to fix the situation.is there any way to downgrade without y usb connector.advice from senior members please.

I shouldn't help you for being that lazy.
But... you must use goldcard method, that will fix your problem to downgrade the bootloader and install customs...
