Android Hp Touchpad firmware problem - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi guys,
Just bought my wife a CNM Touchpad II 7" and could not download apps from any android stores, so soon found out that i needed to flash to firmware 2.2 from cnm.
I have downloaded it and followed the instructions but for the love of god it wont work. I have unzipped the RK2818 android upgrade tool and on button 1. Followed the path to the upgrade 'image' then turn my touchpad on whilst holding the esc key and plug in with usb.
Apparently the device upgrade button should then light green and i let go of esc and click on upgrade...unfortunately this does just not happen. It did turn pink once apart from that zip.
Anyone pls help me as im close to sending it back.
many thanks

Cant post link as am nubie on forum, but basically its an HP Touchpad 2 Android Tablet

ok its not an Hp its made by CNM my mistake. Im trying to update the firmware to 2.2 but having problems

hi.
i have one of these too and was quite pleased with it for the price.
i did manage to upgrade my rom to the latest firmware from http://www.cnmlifestyle.com/
i had the same problem at first if i recall correctly. what i discovered was that the usb port you have to connect the touchpad to needs to be a powered one.
i have to usb ports on my laptop. one which is powered - even whilst the laptop is switched off. upgrade failed on the other usb port.
try connecting the touchpad directly to your pc. without any external hubs etc.
hope that works for you.
i thing i get since upgrading is that my pad behaves very strangely since. it switches itself on randomly but after a few seconds screen shuts off again.
it may turn on a few times in the space of 20 seconds.
after this, the device seems to die. i will not wake up no matter what key i press!
only way to wake it up is to connect it to either the powersupply or a usb cable.

Tablet Gpad 9.7 capacitive screen NO START!

I just got a tablet IMX51_BBG Gpad 9.7 capacitive screen. And since I no longer loaded it on if not plugged into the mains.
I think it is because I tried to connect a cable from my original Apple iphone, to check if it served, and since then not start.
The specific model is that of a single speaker with 30-pin to switch.
I wanted to know if there is any way to reset the entire system, since it seems that it is as if I did not recognize the battery, because with the cable plugged in and lights work perfectly.
Thanks and regards.

I need you help, please!
Nobody?
I also use an original apple cable, so this should be no problem. Be aware, that the connector is reversed, so don't use too much force to plug it in, try to turn the connector. If it works only if a power source is plugged in it sounds more like a battery problem. Does it still have warranty?

[Q] Xoom doesn't recongnize USB

I've been trying to update my Xoom to 3.2 using the non-root method. I have an OTG cable and USB flash drive. However, my Xoom tells me that E: is not there. For some reason it's not recognizing I have this thing connected. Any help would be appreciated.....
I updated this way no prob.......are you turning your xoom off completely then plugging in the cable and powering on, tapping the volume down button to get recovery option?

After much reading and angry outburst I've realized the cble sold to me at the MicroCenter was crap. It did have four & five shorted. Not a true host cable. Anyhow update came this morning.... Dallas, TX thanx

[Q] Using USB connection to console into devices on iRulu 10.1 tablet

I need help... I am new to Android tablets and operating systems so I apologize if I don't give enough information right from the start and if I am asking too simple of a question. I recently purchased an iRulu 10.1" tablet. I am very happy with it since it does what I purchased it for with one exception... I wanted to use one of the USB ports to connect my USB to 9 pin serial adapter so that I can console into different devices we use at my work. Both ports work since I am able to plug in a mouse or keyboard and both function, but the USB dongle I use on my laptop will not even be recognized on the tablet... Someone please tell me what I am missing. Is it a driver? New USB adapter? Some app? I've tried a few solutions and they have not yielded any positive results. I have installed a couple of apps and they don't even recognize the adapter as being connected. Thank you for any and all assistance!!

I wouldn't expect a usb dongle to work because I don't believe any of the Irulu devices have bluetooth capability from what I understand. I don't know for sure though since I am new to this device. I just got one (Model#: AN101 AllWinner A10 CPU) myself on Thursday and doing the research trying to flash JellyBean onto it for now.
Mine came with it's own USB keyboard/stand combo so I don't expect to need a BT keyboard but they are so nice you never can tell what I may want once I get JB on here.
I just figured I'd post to keep this thread alive for ya and input. Good luck

Hello everyone, I have a T95z Plus Amlogic S912 2g ram octa core 16 gb rom, it used to work fine, but one day suddenly it stopped booting, so i tried to reflash it with the burning tool, but then i realized that when i plug it to a computer, it works, it boots and everything is fine, it even works if i disconnect it from the power source, leaving it jus powered by the computer throught the usb cable, anyway, i did flashed the rom with the burning tol, and the problem continues, the box doesnt work while connected throught the power brick, but it works fine just connected to the pc with the usb port

I also have come across a T95X Plus with the same symptoms. It doesn't get any picture on the tv unless a usb cable is plugged in (along with the HDMI cable). I suspect that somehow someone blew up whatever power was being supplied through the HDMI and it now has to rely on power coming through the USB port.
Also, the blue ring around the circumference of the box alternates light blue/dark blue.
It is useable the way it is....but that's not the way it is supposed to be.
I can flash it so please, I don't need a guide on how to do that.
Any thoughts would be appreciated....thanks in advance
SOLVED: thanks to 08fordf250 in a related post... a new power supply fixed the issue.
What was the solution, not able to find the post referred to. I just gave a blue ring and not detected by the TV hdmi. Thanks

Sm-t580 usb otg?

Hello,
I have a SM-T580 with Android 7.0 that is working well. However I would like to connect a thumb drive or other peripherals.
I have tried with two different ONTG cables, but the device refuses to recognize or even power anything.
Am wondering if I am missing something here.
Anybody successfully using one of these in USB host mode?
Thanks,
Pete

I bought a SM-T580 this weekend and took it into work. My previous tablet as an Acer B3-A20 Iconia 10. I used an OTG cable from Best Buy to connect an HP wireless keyboard & mouse combo on the Acer. Today, I tried it with the SM-T580 and it worked.

Thanks for the info. In the meantime, I have discovered that this is actually a hardware problem, since the tablet does not connect to a PC, either. Now, Samsung Canada doesn't want to touch it since I bought it in the U.S. I opened up the tablet, and tried heating the USB connector contacts a bit, and that fixed it, for a while. Now it has gone bad again, so I sent it out to get the connector changed.
Thanks everyone,
Pete
work with cheap otg cable (amazon) here good.
