My rom is a mixed one that made by hellraiser beta6 + i9000 jvr.
Every thing is perfect, but there is no init.d floder in the "/system/etc".
Dose it mean this rom don't support init.d?
So much thanks.
and how to enable init.d?
I believe the rom has to have it pre-installed.

Don't know if any one cares but will give back were I can. I was a kernel dev for captivate and teamkomin before getting inspire. You can name your kernel what everyou want in init/version.c (i'll go into more detail if you want) when in about phone. Also would be nice for vpn users to enable tun support in .config. I haven't had time to really mess with my inspire(still stock other than swype) so don't know if I will carry over kernel deving to inspire but thought i'd share.
Glad to see one of the good guys from team Komin over here

After reading through everything it also seems to look like that maybe our audio hardware isn't different after all we just might have had upgraded kernel drivers and lib files. If the new source is indeed not for our phones but works seems to me that would be the case. I could be wrong though.
I still have tinny sound on every ROM I've installed except for stock.
If sound is clear on the new Team Revolution ROM you're probably right and I'll be psyched.
My kernel carrys support for both the EU Desire HD and the Inspire 4G (with roms with the correct libs).
You can find the src on my github here
Features i build into the kernel is EXT4 + CIFS + SLQB + BFQ and a tap/tub module (all compressed with LZMA)
Hope this helps ppl too
-- EDIT ---
The key to getting good working sound is the correct libs and CSV files for the device the kernel support is there ( i.e my kernels work 100% the same as stock on stock rooted Inspire 4G roms)
Do we have any GB kernels that support init.d? if so could we implement this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111145?
So far not much has been done to the ChargeGB kernel. The source isn't released yet.
There is the kernel in the NAMELESS ROM that says it does init.d and ext4 (lagfix), but it also doesn't completely work yet (bluetooth and the hardware buttons)
thanks, hopefully it'll completely work soon!

This looks pretty neat after reading the other thread, but is this any different from the values that Autokiller seems to modify? If so, how? Thanks!
Most custom kernels already have values similar to the one's that init.d script sets pre-configured
Hi all,
Anyone can post a Link for 5110 CUSTOM Kernel with UV/OC compatible stock rom 4.0.4 ?
Great thx :good:
The only kernel i know is Johnsel oc kernel and it is for cm10 and no undervolting
I think does not exist yet
Sent from Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Tab2
Kernel's have and use SmartReflex, so undervolting is pointless to have as the system does it by itself.

Unless you don't want SmartReflex jacking up your extra OPP's you've added for additional clock speeds.... But on a stock kernel or one with only one extra freq, your exactly right.
well
I understand for undervolting ...
And overclocking is possible on stock 4.0.4 rom?
It's a shame there is not more custom kernel ...
Up !?

Has it solved the swipe issue? Im pretty much sure that it is due to the kernel. We cant change the cpu but anyways its not that bad to have an issue like this
Hit thanks if I helped

No, I have not changed anything related to touchscreen. Cheatman will work on this related to touch issues.
Actually, when merging the changes from my kernel you also included the touch screen fix, but that's not a problem
Still, thanks a lot for your help with the kernel development work! It has enabled awesome stuff for the future!
Cheers,
C.
does it support the BLN features?

Maybe it's a good improovement for our S-DUOS. Could you considerer it?
Good job Vamshi&Cheatman.
Thanks a lot
Hello again,
I think that is not necessary to work in BLN suport because there was one app that we can use as well as BLN but wihtout modified kernel... Here is the link to the developer's page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958939
I've installed it two days ago and works really well. I only modifyed my mail apk because the old one "Stock" don't have any led indication option... (I've installed Maildroid)
@cheatman, Maybe you can add into your room If you are agree.
download links
hello poeple
i have one question: how can i download the kernal ? there is no links
Is there someone that can make a custom kernel for GB starting from Samsung sources?
For custom I mean with OC and configurable voltage and built with optimized toolchains.
I know this take time and GB is outdated, but I'll like to have a clean optimized and stable kernel to apply tweks on init.d
I've tried to do it by myself reading guides and using the tools I've find on XDA but without success. (I'm a mess).

broodkernel is good but there's no voltage control.
