[Q] PTP With Tiamat 3.2 (hammerhead) - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I have a Xoom Wifi (Aussie) which I've flashed with Tiamat Hammerhead and Tachi Kernel. Wierdly I couldn't get the 3.2 OTA update but that's another story...
Anyway I'm having trouble getting PTP working with my Nikon. It worked with 3.1 stock, but as soon as I flashed Tiamat it stopped working. I have tried USBOTG with a flash drive, and that worked fine, but no PTP. Its kind of a pain because I use the Xoom with my camera a lot.
Anyone have any ideas? I don't know where to start!
Thanks in advance

Just an update to this: I re-flashed with the US version of the stock ROM, and updated to 3.2, then flashed the latest Tiamat kernel.
Now PTP will work to a point... Like, for the first few seconds of plugging in it will work perfectly, then it'll abruptly stop and not display any images any more. Which kinda sucks.
I'm gonna try flashing the stock kernel and trying again.

Hello,
I have the same problem with Tiamat 2.2.1.
Have you resolved the problem? I don't know what else to do :-\

[Q] Problem with 1.6 Kernel

I Know this should be in the Developer section, but I don't have enough posts. (Since you have to have at least 10 to do so...)
BUT, I installed a kernel from Blades which is the 1.6ghz with the latest version of CWM. The problem is that whenever I try to boot up the device it just stays on the first startup screen, and it also makes a weird popping noise from the speakers about every 10 seconds. I did wipe Dalvik Cache and I also made a back up before installing the new kernel. I've tried restoring but it does the same thing every time. Before installing the kernel I was running PRIMEORDIAL! v3.1...
Any help would be greatly appreciated....
Thanks

Hi Mate, You are not the only one. Unfortuantely 3.0.1 kernels don't work too well with 3.1 roms as you have discovered.
Not to worry though as this is an easy fix.
Simply flash the 3.1 stock kernel and you're up and running again. You can get it from here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14283676&postcount=94
Wow, I didn't even realize that kernel was only for 3.0.1 lol. THANK YOU! Flashed it and it started right up! C:
You may now have wifi problems, since the kernel update will have installed a different module to the one you need, if this is the case just reflash whatever rom you are using.
Okay cool, I'm on wifi now and it seems to be working fine. So thanks again! :]

[Q] Development Overlay Problems

I installed bigrushdog's development overlay (from here) on my Wingray 1.0.0 and now when I connect my Xoom to my PC via usb, it is not detected. When I disconnect it, the Xoom locks up and reboots.
Flash the Tiamat kernel on top of it. I think maybe a test kernel slipped in the boot image. Ill check it tonight and update if need be.
It works! I had to reflash BT5 though.
I had the same issues, and I just had to flash the kernel - thanks to both of you!!

[Q] Cannot enable WiFi on TF101

Odd thing happened today. I was testing out the EOS cornerstone new rom and was having issues with WiFi so I restored my Stock ICS setup but now I can not enable the WiFi.
The WiFi icon is greyed out on the settings tab and I can not swipe the WiFi to on in the settings app.
Has anyone seen this before? Did the WiFi die?
Just flash the ROM you were using again without any wipe. (Flash the ROM that your backup is base upon)
It seems the backup has the HC version of the wifi. I flashed the other rom again and the wifi is working fine.
Thanks.
Same Problem

Just flash Revolver ROM again, no wipe needed
I installed the AOSP test build of ICS, now I too am having wifi issues. I saw the ROM had it listed that there was a bug with the wifi so I didn't think much of it at first. I then installed Android Revolution but now the wifi still doesn't work.
I accidentally deleted my backup ROM..
Tablet says no MAC address found, and wifi settings app just hangs when trying to turn on.. I've re-flashed numerous times.. I've formatted all the partitions, re-flashed again....
Any ideas?
I had to flash the rom again (EOS cornerstone) and the wifi started working. I just ended up flashing the stock ICS from the asus site to start freh again.
It seems like the backup in CWM does something strange with the wifi driver.
I'm start a new thread here.

I reflashed EOS, wifi works, but i now have a different MAC address than I did before.

[Q]

Hello, i recently bought an asus transformer and ive rooted it and installed a custom rom well today i had problems with it bootlooping into recovery well i fixed that now for some reason my wifi wont turn on it just says turning on wifi and doesnt do anything so what im wanting to do is fastory restore and unroot the device so i can start fresh can anyone point me into the right direction to do so? Thanks.

You can Nvflash a stock ROM, but Guevor's kernel will also fix your wifi issues. Don't use ROM manager, it causes bootloops. Also try a different ROM (which did you flash), and you must get the CM9/AOKP based kernel to get wifi to work on an AOSP ROM. (See megatron version in guevor's thread)

Can't turn on wifi

Hi guys,
As the title stated, I couldn't get the wifi to work at all. I tried flashing both stock and custom roms, but I still couldn't make it work. When I slide the wifi "on", it immediately slides back to "off". It didn't even scan for networks. Does anyone know what is the cause of this problem and how can I fix it? The last working custom rom I used was the Infusion rom. Right after I install the stock firmware, the wifi no longer works anymore.
Thanks.

I got the same exact problem after I flashed the faux kernel. :/ Were you able to find a solution yet?
