Wizard Love ROM - What is it anyway?

Hello,
I've been trying to grab some background on ROM Wizard Love and so far I can't find any detailed information about it at all.
The Readme.doc that comes enclosed in it contains detailed instructions on how to install, but no information about the ROM itself.
I'd really like to know:
1. Who made this ROM?
2. What does it contain (I know it's specially suited to fix bad upgrade problems and so)
3. Is it WM5 or WM6?
4. Can I use it normally on a daily basis or is it just for fixing problems prior to intalling another ROM?
Any info appreciated

This is a WM5 Rom that was made a while back. It is a very stable base rom. you can install it and use it on a daily basis. When you upgrade to a newer version of WM5 or WM6, you always need a good base rom to build off of. This provides that base. That is why a lot of the developers suggest to downgrade to this rom before upgrading to their rom so as to avoid any problems that could be caused because of not having a good base rom. The link to the file is given below. Hope this helps and answers your questions. Also, searching around this site will give you a lot more information about the Wizard Love rom.

[Q] Updating ROM from Epic Experience 1.0.1

Hi, I've recently bought a Samsung Epic 4G with Schizopunk Epic Experience ROM verson 1.0.1
I've noticed that there has been many updates since this version but I'm completely dumbfounded as to updating this ROM. I didn't install the ROM myself so I can't really go into detail but I was hoping maybe someone here can help me update from version 1.0.1 to 2.0.08
There are plenty of sites explaining how to install ROMs, including this one, but I can find a thread on just updating the existing ROM to a more current version.
Step-By-Step would be great because I don't even know where to start.
Thanks in Advance.
Well my friend I'm glad you decided on an epic. If its got epic experience 1.01 yes you are behind on updates, but you honestly need to read up on all the details of flashing roms and using cwm recovery first. There is many great devs and lots of tweaks and as you learn you will find its not very easy to really "brick" these phones. As far as a step by step guide, your probably not going to get one, but there are a lot of guides on how to accomplish steps to get you there. Good luck and have fun.

I am not familiar with that particular rom but chances are the base rom has been changed so I would do a full wipe through clockwork mod recovery, you should definitely download titanium backup to backup anything you don't wanna lose. There are tons of threads about this. I would install the newest version of the rom just like if you were coming from stock. So find a guide for installing a rom and start from there.

Have you taken a look at this forum?

I believe the file you are looking for is

Rooting can be risky, so please make sure you reed the instructions on the first link carefully and follow them to the letter.
Head to the SGS 2 forum and read around a lot about rooting. It's the only way to be sure you're doing it properly.
You may either need to just flash a rooted kernel, which will leave your phones ROM (the OS of the phone) as it is but now gives your phone root capabilities.
Or perhaps flash a rom such as Darky's ROM which will root your phone and install a brand new rom (Darky's ROM) all in one go, complete with tweaks and other great features. I'd recommend going through this way as Darky and his crew make flashing a new rom and rooting a painful one step process and once done, you can either stick with his rom, or upgrade to a different rom found on XDA that has more tweaks and improvements. But Darky's is a great one to start on, it's fast stable, has great battery life and while there are other roms out there that improve the SGS2 more, you will not be dissapointed if you stick with Darky's .
It depends what you're after which you do. rooting your current stock rom is great because your phone stays exactly as it is but now has root capabilities so you can look around and pick odd tweaks here and there and install them, and install other apps and such that benefit your phone but need root, but custom roms are usually more tweaked than the stock roms, and can have other tweaks built in already, which can improve battery life, speed, stability, 3g/wifi speeds, and provide useful tweaks to the general experience.
I'd definitely recommend going for a custom ROM.
Read around the SGS2 forum and find one that fits your needs

[Q] Galaxy 7.7 (P-6810) & Jelly Bean …

Hi all,
I have a Galaxy 7.7 (P-6810) and was wondering if it is possible to install a working version of Jelly Bean?
I use the device mainly for travelling and really enjoy the battery life and screen quality but am not too happy with the OS when compared to my friend’s tablets with Jelly Bean installed … I have been waiting, in hope that Samsung would release an official update (following the 6800), but it would appear this is never going to happen
This is my only Android device, I am used to IOS, Jailbreaking etc but have no experience of rooting, installing custom ROMs and have no idea where to start.
If someone could give information or provide clear instructions on how to do this safely, so as not to brick the device, it would be much appreciated!
Many thanks in advance.

Here are some links to study that will assist you in performing the tasks.
For basic background this link gives you some concepts and other useful information it is a little old but I think the concepts are valid. [GUIDE | READ ME | DISCONTINUED-28/06/12 ] A Newbie Guide for your Galaxy Tab 7.7 ▓░░ [ 1 2 ]
I think you said you had a P6810 here is a link to root and install CWM. Again this guide may not show the latest versions but gets you started on the process. [ROM&GUIDE] Official Firmwares SGT 7.7 P6800 + P6810 Download Here is another thread that might be helpful: [FAQ] Common Issues and Solutions for SGT7.7, now with JB (12 May 2013+)
For example the latest CWM is 6.0.3.0.
This is a start by following the instructions and cautions you should be ok. As discussed before the dainel_hk ROMs are what I use and I've been very happy with his efforts. Happy flashing. Lots of research (part of the fun in having this device) and paying attention to what you are doing should keep you from bricking your device. Again good luck and have fun. Your other option would be to find someone close to you and get tem to help you through the steps.:fingers-crossed:

[Completed] [Q] Help with finding information on lean rom building

Hello,
I'm a newbie here.
looking for information on how to build very lean ROM.
under "lean" i mean the following:
is it possible to build Android ROM which has only one app - caller ?
yes, i know it may sound strange but i'm looking into this option.
it would be also good if someone could point at some custom ROM project stripped of Dalvik completely
with some apps in native code (if such does exist...)
i have experience of building Android from source but investigating
this problem made me seeking for community help.
any help appreciated.
thanks for your time.
Hi there,
You must read some guides and tutorials for that. Starting from:
1. This guide about how to port different ROMs to your device.
2. This guide about how to port AOSP ROMs to your device.
3. This guide about how to port a ROM to your device.
4. This guide about how to create a new ROM for your device.
5. This guide for ROM development beginners.
6. This guide in xda university for building your own android rom.
7. This guide in xda university for porting an aosp rom from source.
There are also instructions on the cyanogen mod wiki site about it.
A good place to ask if you have questions about it or need help, is Chef Central - Android. Many devs are watching this forum and can help quickly.
Good luck
Thanks for your answer.
