Hi! I've had my Vibrant since February and I rooted it about a month ago when the crapware got too annoying. I've been playing around with root-only programs and Tasker and reading xda and I think I'm ready to flash a custom ROM rather than wait forever for T-Mobile to deliver Gingerbread.
What are the best custom ROMs for Vibrant? I've looked myself but most of the posts are pretty old and I don't know if the information remains current.
Thanks for your answers.

Hey,
I'm relatively new to the android scene but after researching phones for the last few days and looking into the apps and the projected path of the system I've decided to go with an android phone.
I currently live in the USA and would like some guidance as to what I phone I should get. I am on T-Mobile's service as well. What I'm looking for is a phone that will last me for about 2 years, or a year and a half at least. I'm not a huge fan of the G1's keyboard so I'm thinking of stay away from it but if it's immensely better then I'll reconsider.
I'm definitely a huge texter and web browser. I was originally thinking of getting the HTC Hero however I learned that it only supports 2g networking and that is too slow to be of use. Is there any way to get a flash rom or application of the mytouch as of now? I know there are Hero rom's but I'm unsure if they can also view flash in the browser.
My main question is, is there a phone which is flash enabled and could be projected as working for the next 2 years?
Thank you,
Evervoid
That's what I'm currently looking at, however I'm unsure if it will last 2 years. Do you know if the HTC Hero Rom works well with it? or is even compatable?
Hey sorry if this is in the wrong section but i couldn't decide what section would be most appropriate. I am new to rooting and have only had my rooted G1 for about 2 months. I am looking to get a new android phone and I would like to know what T-mobile or ATT (if it can be unlocked for use on T-mobile) android phone has alot of roms to flash like the G1 (I love being able to change the feeling of my phone every few days) and with better hardware than the G1.
I was thinking of waiting for the MyTouch Slide but not sure if it would be worth the wait.
The Nexus One has a great ROM community and in my opinion the best ROMs out there. I use Cyanogen's ROM as my primary ROM.
As well as a great ROM community, the Nexus One can be purchased unlocked from the factory for use on T-Mobile or AT&T 3G.
hey everyone, im new to xda forums so i would like to say hello, anyway, i was wondering how the 2.3 gingerbread for the samsung captivate runs, is it laggy? does it have any defects, cause i have seen videos that have shown some of the buttons not working on the phone but then again that was only the beta version of the 2.3 update, also i have been looking for i dont know how long but i cant seem to find a root for my captivate, and i have been looking for a while, my phone is on 2.2 right now, and i would like to update it and root it for optimal usage, thanks for your help, and im looking forward to being a part of xda
Recently purchased the Galaxy precedent for straight talk and absolutely love it. especially with straight talks 45 dollar unlimited plan. BUT, im being driven insane only running froyo. I mean its great functional, but i find my self heavily modding it to get it to do things that gingerbread does natively and would love support for even more future applications! If anyone would help im sure I wouldnt be the only one to embrace it!
Here is a forum on Rooting the Precedent as well as some do's and don't's.

I had an iPod touch and loved experimenting with the jailbrake and now I have upgraded to the Droid phone and I want to experiment with Modding now. Can you help? Cyanogenmod doesn't have a mod for the m828c as far as I know.. please respond lol

Thanks a lot for the info. It is great that there is smart guys in the world. I purchased my precedent a while ago. Unfortunately i bricked it and fortunately i had warranty on it so got a new phone. I loved the areaRom that i was running. Made great space for many apps with the partion making thru CWM. I think that if i would have brincked it i would have stayed with it for a very long time. Thanks for the info.

Forgot... since im new (about 2 or 3 months) learing about how root works... what would be the first step into learning how to actually be able to root or create a mod or ROM for one?? any ideas and direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Regards, Pryma
I'm astonished these bricks are so old that dev communities weren't already used to meet here on xda.

Hi... I've been using a DInc for almost a year and a half; running rooted and CM7. I love the phone, love Cyanogenmod. I am in the market for a 4G phone - will probably give the DInc to my son. I am looking for a 4G Verizon phone with stable Gingerbread or ICS ROM's available. I would like to be able to root it and run an alternative ROM, preferably Cyanogenmod. I'm not seeing much that meets my needs in the CM supported devices area. Does anyone have any suggestions for Verizon 4G phones that are root/mod friendly? Thanks in advance!
