Hi.
If your are after something to monitor your 3g data allowance, 3G Watchdog is pretty good. You can set your limits and monthly renewell date, and it'll warn you if you get near your limit, and turn off 3g if you reach it.
On the other hand, Traffic Monitor logs all data, 3g and wifi, and very usefully logs which app is using what. Very useful if you suspect one app of chewing through more data than it should. You can also test network speeds with it.

i use netsentry. works nice, matches with what vodafone is telling me.

I use data counter widget https://market.android.com/details?id=com.roysolberg.android.datacounter&feature=search_result
Because i install new roms all the time and i 3g watch dog is useless if i change rom.
You can set to show daily traffic, but if you tap it it shows data used yesterday/2 days ago..last month...etc
LE: Didn't try to use titanium backup on 3G watchdog just before instaling new rom...that would be one idea. But i just like to have a live widget.

i think 3g watchdog is really the best
greetz

3G watchdog. There is a built-in counter in the new Sense 3.5 Rom

wow,it seems that you have flash that, how about it?

Htc you mean the bliss ROM 3.5sense ?

I hope I spelled the name correct.

The Built-in Data Counter available in MIUI ROM is working cool

"3G Watchdog" or "Call Meter" does the job.

does anyone know any time-based counter for data? thanks!

Traffic counter is the best imo, dunno if it's time based.

Call meter is OK

try
Try 3G Watchdog. This is what I am using for a long time with no problems.

Data Detective is a newish app that shows mobile and wifi traffic per application in addition to the totals. It also shows the costs of mobile data per app in your local currency.

Personally I use Call Meter NG (free on market) since I first got my DS.
Very simple and elegant, and also tells me the minutes and texts I used.

I'm using DroidStats. Works very fine for me.

Zdbox is great!!!!

xda wifi sharing: stealth mods included?

I have the xda wifi sharing cab installed on my phone, but I'm wondering:
are the *stealth* mods included (to avoid huge tethering bill), or do I need to install them as well?
(btw: stock USC/Tp2, wm6.5)
The answer
Well the thing is that the system does not know that you are teathering, except when you make it painfully obvious by downloading movies and such things that would consume soooooo much bandwidth that you stick out like a sore thumb. Do not worry about it unless you do ;-) P.S. the only reason for the 5 gig cap on air cards now is because the long term plan on VZW is LTE for data, which we will be deploying soon. That will be for data and the next generation of phones will be IP based on the EVDO network, 1xRTT and traditional 3G voice phones will be supported until reasonable end of life but then they will go away.

basically - nothing to do but use the app - VZW cannot tell the difference between this traffic and your mobile browser traffic - you are set.

[q] App like NoData for Android?

Hi guys!
I searched this Forum for NoData, but not a single thread turned up. :/
I want to test Android (SD Version) on my HD2 soon and need a App like NoData for it because I don't have a mobile internet flat.
If NoData doesn't ring a bell: It's a simple WinMo App that doesn't allow any app or system component to access mobile internet.
Is there a similar thing for Android? (I'm thinking of running a 2.2 Android version)

Put it in Airplane Mode
Just disable mobile data in settings.
DroidWall if you want to select certain applications.

And it works and stays off? That would be great! On WinMo you can only cancel a established connection with the stock software.
Try superpower from market and here on xda. 3gwatch turns your 3g off like nodata. There should be a simple cmd line for turning off 3g but don't remember it

Or you could just create an empty profile and select that as default...

I'm using apndroid. simple but affective
NoData like app for Android
A little late to post but for anyone who has been looking for a WinMo NoDATA like app then I've been successfully using APN on-off widget by Pedro Maicas.
i too looked for No Data, but then i found that going into the settings and just unchecking works all the same =)
Hello I am in the same situation
I upgrading from HTC HD windows mobile to Samsung Galaxy note this christmas , and probaly Nexus later...
On HTC HD i have the NODATA is very useful cause the flat internet i have is not good, have a prepay card and everytime a widget conect to internet company charge med 3 Euro a day even if i Surf internet or not ....aweful
So i installed NOdata on HTC the moments i not used internet and saved a lot of money
Now on Android i need a similar solution for Galaxy note and nexus
Reading this thread i understand there is not a NO-data version for android
but there is 4 options
1. Just disable mobile data in settings
2.DroidWall if you want to select certain applications
3.3gwatch
4. apndroid
Can anyone tell me how i disable mobile data in settings on a Galaxy note i just got it yesterday
What is the difference between Droidwall,3gwatch and apndroid
and which of theese perform most similar to Nodata.
What i want is simple ZERO transfer of widget updats without my permision
cause that means 3 euro and if i dont plan surf internet that day i am not going to pay those 3 euro
I might find it less useful when i move over to another company and better flat fee but for now i realy need a No data app

Use apndroid to block certain apps. Shutting off all mobile data will stop Mms from working

Calls Data and SMS counter apps

I'm currently using Call Meter NG to keep a track of Calls Data and SMS although it's good it does not take into account unlimited plans.
Is anyone using another app which is better or can offer more customisation?
i have tried Call Meter 3G Beta, Droidstats, Stats Free and Planalyze Free but none are quite right.
any ideas warmly received!!
Droidstats works perfect for me.
Mybe you need to play with the settings?
3g watchdog, the pro version, might be what you need. Though none of them are 100% accurate
Droid Stats
Call statistics
Hello, I'm using Callistics. Which has better graphics and is intuitive.

App usage tracking

I've been poking around on the market for a few days for an app that will keep track of how much time I'm using the device / what apps are in the foreground / which are getting the most use. Sort of like a data counter, but for eyeball time - so I can see, for example, that I'm spending way too much time in any given week / month in Tasker and Tapatalk, and that it's time to put down the damn phone and get some work done.
I found App Time Mini, but it's a little basic for this purpose. It puts a timer on each app you specify, but that's it. I'd like to be able to categorize apps and get a visual representation (graph) for their totals.
Anyone know of anything?
Hey actually your phone itself will have that information..atleast all HTC phones have it..however it is put behind some secret code or something..
Try elixir ..it's a widget app but will give this info..though you'll have to go deep inside that app...
However I don't know a app with graphs or other stuff..traffic widget or onavo gives you graphs about network usage...
Trying Elixir now, thanks.
I'd actually forgotten about the dial codes, but you are right, Usage under 4636 gives me a workable list. These dial codes work with more than just HTC too (using them on a Motorola Atrix). No go on a tablet tho.
For anyone unfamiliar, it's a pretty cool feature. There's a full list available here.

Extreme 3G data control?

Hello, I've been searching on this forum and on Google for a long time but nothing satisfies me so far. In fact, I am looking for an app that allows me to control the 3G data consummation for every single of my application in a detailed way so I can set a data threshold or limit which every single app can use and I am able to monitor the consumption of it in every so gle second (with graphs that shows the history of the consumption as well). And the most important is that it should allow me to choose rather an application can use data or not. Option: the ability to automatically adjust how the app use data in order to fulfill my everyday need without go beyond thr limit.I've been looked at the apps like 3G Watchdog and Onavo, but they're just to brief and simple. You may think that I am crazy, but if you live in Canada, you will absolutely agree with me. Thanks.
