Anyone know of a way to disable those silly excuse messages? Sometimes my pocket sends them before i can answer the call and its really annoying.
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA Premium App
Applications>Settings>Call Setings>Excuse Messages then delete all excuse messages.
Thanks. Totally didnt think of looking there.

I did what suggested and deleted a message, but this message continue to be in the list of excuses message when I got a call and slide-up the "excuse feature".
Is there a way to permanently eliminate the message?
Thanks in advance.

I removed all messages stored, Now when I receive a call I still have the excuse icon when I click on it though there are no messages only the reject option. Have you removed all the messages or just 1?

I did the same thing (god, I'm glad to have found out about this, I was so sick of my fingers hitting one of the excuse messages as I fumbled to get my phone out of my pocket).
I think the thing that is still there is the little slide-up option titled "Excuse Messages" that you cannot delete. At least, that's how it is on mine after I deleted all of the Excuse Messages. But at least you can't accidentally hit one of the messages anymore and unintentionally end an incoming call.

Currently i recieve lots of texts, i've noticed that I can not reply straight away when my text messages are set to show like a conversation because my htc hd 2 has to load all the texts. I was wondering if someone could make a tweak where it only showed the last 5 or 10 messages so i can reply instantly
Yes. 2nd that. That is the only problem with HD2 now for me
would appreciate this too
I've had a quick look at the registry, but couldnt find anything useful.
I dunno if its set in a manila-file or in the messagingapplication itself.
Would be nice to tweak this...
+1 to this feature,
with my HTC P3600 I had sms routing and it only showed the 10 last messages,
if you wanna see older messages you could press, 'see history',
+1 . will be great that tweak
Awesome, glad to see some people agree! I have no idea how to do it so...

One way to overcome the delay until a fix comes out, is as soon as you open the conversation, click 'send' and a warning window pops up asking if you want to send a blank text, select 'no' and there you have the whole conversation loaded instantly. Plus I noticed last night when I disabled the sense ui and installed Spbmobile shell 3.5.2, the Htc messaging app will still take a while to load the conversation but at least you can type out your reply while its doing it.

Oh i see, thanks! I will try the blank text thing for now
I tend to read my sms from manila then click the "new sms" icon and basically write a new sms rather than clicking reply. Until a fix is found I have found this the quicker way to reply to sms.
Just as soon as you open the conversation, click 'tap here to compose' and you'll be able to compose. But be quick

Ok, so everynow and then, My text message fails. So I have to hold it until the menu pops up and i click resend.
Can Someone build a simply little auto resend in the event the text fails to send?
That would be greatly appreciated.

not the point. When you try to send a message, you want it to actually be sent. I dont want to do it manually(im lazy). i want it to be done automatically. and how do i move this to general?

When your message fails, what is the reason? I get failures for not using a 10 digit number just for one of my contacts. The contact is stored using a 10 digit number though. I can't seem to get it fixed and it is actually a very big problem for me since the contact is my wife!
Does anyone here use GO SMS PRO? Im having an issue where if a text comes in and the popup shows the message, and I dont touch the phone and the screen turns off, GOSMS PRO will mark the message as read as the notification is removed and when you go to the app, it shows that the message was read when it was not. Also if I just close the popup window it also marks the message read and there should be an option to mark it read or not. anyone know how to resolve?
If I can not, I will have to remove the program as I am missing text messags because the come in and later when I look at the phone, and go into the program, I find text messages I didnt know I had.
Hmm thats really wierd ive been using go sms pro for a while now and i havent had that problem at all. what rom are you running

SPRINT LOVERS ROM. I tested it several times. I receive a text message and as soon as the screen goes off, the notification is gone and the message is market read. I switched to a program called SMS POPUP that works with the standard text messaging app that comes with the phone and it doesnt dismiss the notification or mark the message read. I think there is a GOSMS PRO error.. also if yo just close the popup, the notification goes away.. whats funny is later I went into the GO SMS APP and I saw the popup window still open in there..

I used handcent for awhile, I really like it. I just went with gosms for a change. I like to switch it up a bit to keep my brain guessing. lol
IM trying to figure our why I need this over the STOCK app + SMS POPUP? can someone tell me??
Well because sms popup looks retarded and the stock sms app isnt better than chomp, handcent, or gosmspro. and maybe because you just wanna have your own spin on very little part of your phone
I installed Go SMS because i love the features especially the pop notification. Using the app, I've come to realize that text messages are not being sent. It just stays there and never sends. I looked at HTC's messaging app and the text also displays there are being sent but never sends.
Has anyone else had a problem sending texts with GoSMS?
I uninstalled Go SMS and using just the default to see if Go SMS was the one causing the issue
maybe I am the only one.
I've had this issue as well. Sometimes it will just say text not sent and never send.
Other times I will get an error saying text not sent but it did indeed send so I end up sending two of the same.
Best thing you can do with this is pull the SIM card and re-insert it. This problem, if existing, affects more than just people who use GoSMS as GoSMS is just a skinned texting surrogate. Sure, it sends and receives texts, but it does so using the frameworks of the main messaging app on your device. I've encountered this problem with the main messaging app, and I just pull the SIM or put it in airplane mode for a few seconds then take it off and it's fixed it every time.
Hope this helps.

Does the issue go away after doing that or does it come back? Should I turn off the phone when I remove the sim or should I do it while it is on?
If a text doesn't send for me I can still send one right after and that one sends fine.
so for the past 2 days i used HTC's messaging app and everything always sent. just now i redownloaded GO SMS and the second text i sent, it did not send so it must be something else

For what it's worth, gosms works fine for me other than the recipient used to get duplicate messages. I froze the stock messaging app and changed gosms settings to control text delivery and it's been all good so far. It's not an ics compatibility issue, it's sense. Hope that helps

I will keep this in mind. I haven't rooted my phone so I can't freeze the message app.

So i have found out what is causing my text not to send. If I reply to a text using the pop notification while I am in another app like Google Chrome or draw something, the text does not send. When I go to go sms, I can see the green arrow showing that it is sending but it never does. The only times I can successfully 100% of the time send a text from the pop up notification is if I am on the home screen instead of within another app. Can anyone else test this for me to see if I am the only one with this issue?

I had the exact same problem with duplicate messages. the freeze worked for me. i had no more issues with messages being sent but i no longer have root access so i can't confirm if that would have changed over time. I have no issues right now.

So even if you reply from the pop up notification while within another app, your text message sends?
Since there is no way to root the AT&T HOX without it being discovered by htc/at&t, I haven't rooted and therefore can't freeze the messaging app

I had completely forgotten about chomp. Thanks for reminding me. I started using it and while I still get messages not sending if I reply to a text from the pop up notification, it doesn't do it nearly as much as go sms. With go sms, the message not sending would happen one after another but not with chomp. And even though I don't like the sound, I've set chomp to make a sound after a successful sent message so at least I can tell if my message has sent without having to open the app.
Thanks again for mentioning chomp

I'm having the same issue with texts not sending from the pop up window. It doesn't happen all the time but enough that it's annoying and I always go to the app to make sure it sent, which kind of defeats the purpose of the pop up. I haven't noticed whether it was when I'm in another app or not. However, it's not that it just doesn't send, it's totally lost. There will be no record of it. Other times messages seem to just get stuck sending and I have to click edit and resend in order to get them to go through.
GO SMS has also become very laggy. I can't really type when it's sending or receiving a message. If I'm typing during this time, it's delayed in showing what I've typed and auto-correct and word suggestion don't work. Also, when I leave a conversation and go back to the main screen, it takes several seconds to update the threads. Long enough that I can click on one but then it takes me to the wrong one because it's updated. I thought maybe I just have too many messages. I've set it to limit messages to 700 per thread. Anyone else experiencing these issues? I think I'll try Chomp again until these issues are fixed.
I have this problem with my current callscreen.
Problem - Whenever I take out the phone from my pocket to receive an incoming phone call, The messaging templates from below get dragged up and a message template gets sent before I can even answer the call!
It's annoying.
Any fix for this? A new caller screen? or modified phone.apk without messaging templates?
Thanks in advance.

My problem is I don't want it.
I want to remove those message templates.
because they get dragged up and sent (while I take out my ringing phone from my pocket) before I even get to answer the phone.
Yes you can remove the text.
Oh oh,I remember,it's somewhere near fixed dialing numbers something.
There is no way to change that, that's sony ui.
Just remove the text from messages.
I don't think the message will be sent if you by mistake select a empty text.
Plus I don't know if there is a solution.

phone settings > call settings > select SIM > select SIM 1> reject calls with messages.
Cleared it all and it works.
As for cm11. there is no dual SIM support!
