These are tweaks to improve the smoothness and performance of the phone
Original Post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236779
Nope wont download on the phone.
1st link starts but fails
2nd has about 100 redirects then stops and says too many redirects.
Please just post it at the normal places.
Or cant u juat attach it here?
Also.. How about listing what kernels should work instead waiting for people to smoke their phones.
Example... Does the stock 2.3.4 kernel that most people are on work? - i am going to say no because you say it requies Ext4 and 2.3.4 is not that right?
Ext 4 is really only used on AOSP correct? Cyanogen stuff
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
edit -
just d/l on a pc ok. - i really hate the way these phones dont download **** properly.
All stock roms are rfs voodoo fixes that and re formats to EXT4. cyanogenmod uses EXT4 and something else i think, i dunno im still pretty nooby
Would also second what kernels work for stock rooted GB eh09? IS there an voodoo kernel out yet? Didnt source just hit yesterday? If so you guys are blazin

we dont have a voodoo kernel yet and im not sure if our stock lernel supports the init'd yet but it should soon...and yes...source dropped for us!!!
if you guys have no init.d support yet thats fine, just push the following files manually
/system/bin
/system/lib
dont push the rest till you have what you need
but the other tweaks should still improve your phone
This is a waste of time posting this here. Needs to go on another forum.

Try reading what I said and maybe you'll understand.
Giventhatcm7 is the only thing this will work for i think you need to clearly state this in the title or the first line of the thread.
Unlessi read wrong this is for gingerbread and cm7 is the only rom/kernel to have the requirements he has layed out.
Also, how about adding the correct flashable zip to your first post for those who are not on a cm7 based gingerbread rom.
That way we dont have to fuk our devices by trying manual pishes that dont always work.
Just a suggestionas i would love to have this on the uscc stock 2.3.4 gingerbread since that is all thats available and it seems like the mez is dead on xda

Its not just for GB you need a kernel that supports init.d for onr of the tweaks the others will work no matter what
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
I'm still wondering why you referred to yourself in third person.
which kernel?
is this kernel supported, and is this the proper file system... I believe I am running ext4 with cyanogen 7?
2.6.35.7-gf63f6d6
And when you say "clean out init.d", do you mean delete the files in /ext/init.d before applying these tweaks?
Thanks in advance

no need to wipe your init.d folder simply go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236779
and pick up the u.s.a.sv6 tweak its remade no need to worry about init.d folder
quick question... why is u.s.a.s significantly smaller?

Why do people care about voodoo? It's not "coming" any time soon. The entire idea of voodoo lagfix is to convert the filesystem to ext4 which is faster than the stock format. That makes things run smoother, faster, etc. than stock. Now on gingerbread we have a completely different filesystem called MTD which is even better than ext4; thus if we ever got a voodoo lagfix kernel it would be downgrading our phones.

Obviously, as with everything here, you SHOULD take caution before flashing this. However, if you DON'T, and something goes wrong, then it is in no way my or anyone else's fault.
I rebuilt this ROM.
What's changed:
-Updated the kernel to version v0.0.2. (nubecoder)
-Added the 3G/1x icon fix. (SenseiSimple)
-Added Hotspot hack. (Tortel1210/Necrosan)
-Added the Camera sound fix. (IcePlanet)
-Removed some Sprint/Samsung bloat (suggest more to remove if you want).
-Added CRT off.
-Added a 1% battery mod.
And of course, the old goodies:
-Deodexed
-noCIQ (k0nane)
-LogsProvider Fix (Tortel1210)
-GPS Fix (hienkhieu)
-Extended Power Menu (untermensch (I also borrowed the icons for the menu from him. Hope you don't mind!))

I don't know if this os a noob question or not...but can EH17 KERNELS be used with this build....the reason I ask is because in proir GB leaks there was some cross-compatability between builds that some themes could be used with...so im thinking would it work the same for kernels

I would say wait until the ODIN prerooted w/ CWM comes along. Then base with that and flash custom ROMs as they release and appear worthy.
I am running EXT4 now, so do I need to flash the convert to RFS script first?
Just an FYI, GPS fix works for this ROM

I was only locking 3 of 9 and after flashing this locked 9 of 9 in about 4 seconds

I'm not entirely sure. This comes with nubernel, which was made for EH17, and I don't think any modifications were done to it to get it to work, so I suppose they can.

I believe the nubernel is actually an EI22 kernel. It was created from the source that we saw in October that was later taken down, which is identical to the new EI22 source that is currently up. So technically we were running EH17 leak with EI22 kernel before. I may be wrong but this is how I understand it.

Source earlier and source now are identical, so the only way it wouldn't work is if the devs had to add something to make it work with EH17, than in turn only works with EH17.
I don't think that's the case, and I'm running nubernel problem free thus far.

I have picked up an old project I was working on, getting Eclair on our phones.
Now you might think, why Eclair, it is much older than Froyo and we already have Gingerbread!?
The answer is simple, just because we do not have Eclair roms for our phones
Some people here think newer is always better, but that is not always the case
Eclair is already booting, but I have some FC's and launcher does not work correctly. Neither any other things work.
I was trying to get a logcat, but could not connect using adb.
Perhaps someone else can give me a solution for enabling adb?
What did I use to get eclair booting up?
Froyo bootimage
Compiled Eclair using Froyo-libs and kernel.
If you want to take a look at it, here is a pre-pre-alpha where nothing works
It is not the latest, because I'm already solving some problems.

Third: Upload to your gitHub,I'll have a look
BTW: Could you check if you have any /build/core/kernel.mk? Really getting mad with that error on CM6.
Could not get any logcat
But it's solved
Launcher is working now!
Updated build.prop, checked if some files existed, but some were missing.
Guess I forgot something in device-files
Now working on sd-card mounting, gsm and wifi, if these are fixed I will provide an updated zip (this zip contains generic build.prop )

Non-working RIL could be caused from three things:
You missed LG services into makefiles/.rc files (if you want I can PM you some strings to add to .rc files)
Wrong libs (easy to check)
Non-prelinked libraries (define TARGET_PRELINKER_MAP (or some like that) into device_thunderg.mk and modify prelink-linux-arm-msm7xx7 or some like that with names of unlinked libs. You can see what stuff isn't prelinked with a debugging-enabled linker you can find into Swift-sense Mur4iK GT540 post. For prelink address, use google because I don't know
Would this have any actual speed benefit?
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
You will absolutely encounter speed differences with Gingerbread.

I am wanting to add bootanimation with bootsound support to my ROM. I am running RaverX3X's beautifulsgs4g 2.3.5 with KJ1 + voodoo kernel. I have found many threads about bootanimation and that your kernel needs to support it and you have to add the binary. I think this kernel supports it, but I cannot find anything on how to add the binary. Anyone have any guidance/ideas on this?

I actually used KJ1 with Ravers MIUI and had boot animation there so I think I am just missing the binary... In the OP Raver (for bsgs4g) said he removed the bootanimation (for whatever reason) so that just adds to my theory of just needing to add the binary. But then again, I could be wrong... lol

Technically, from what I understand. Boot animation isn't really a 'kernel thing'.
bootanimation is executed from init.rc. I feel that bootanimation was added to the kernel because of lazy rom devs... or maybe that is just my opinion.
The next version of the kernel will not have this support.
If you want bootanimation support, your rom better support it properly.

Why Bother
Why bother with this total fail of an upgrade when there are so many better custom ROM's to choose from right here on xda?
I'm on Infused v2.2.3 and really like it but considering making the move to ZEUS soon.
I just can't see any reason to make a giant leap backward with the AT&T GB upgrade. It's just too little too late. YMMV though.
Maybe Samsung decided to use Zeus?

Yeah who likes a 100% working phone anyway, right?
meh.
now I know why there are no sources yet. and yeah the update is important if not just for sorcery code. never mind Samsung and att having respect for the customers....
think of how much better the roms can be if we don't have to mix libs from different leaks to fix video recording or playback and workarounds for the sdcard and wifi. and if they actually have HDMI. then we could swap kernels around without considering switching vold.fstab. yeah I hope the update is fixed soon so the code can be released finally.
someone is gonna have to get the update files and decrypt them to get a stock kernel though. (to extract initramfs and the root process will require a kernel to revert to until custom kernels are made.)
If you consider hdmi 100 percent, then I guess im running a 99 percent working rom......yea.....im good with that

hey I'm using Zeus myself. but I use the kl2 kernel on it and it would be nice if you didn't need to change vold.fstab back to stock to do so. I just want source code for new kenrels that could be maintained as all the old kernels were developed by people who are no longer here.

well I ran it with infuseion a few days, but I get the themes, the rom is deodexed, and when ever I deodex something it seems to run weird either slow or choppy. Zeus doesn't. I dunno what dman uses to deodex but it works better than what I have used.
This is all Darkierawr's work putting this together. He asked me to release it if I have time as he does not. So I tested both files by Odining back to stock, rooted and flashed the BML then the MTD version from there. If you see Darkie around make sure to hit a thanks for him.
The MTD version will convert you from BML also and that is a big thanks to Toadlife for his conversion script.
So this is a flashable of the odexed full stock prerooted of the FC19 leak. Big thanks to Whosdaman for getting the tar for us.
The FC19 modem is here: http://d-h.st/eU1
For Odin installation of modem - Odin 1.85: http://d-h.st/i1Q
This was rooted with shadowkernel so thanks to Bbelos!
The FC19 leak had the Sprint Connections Optimizer conspicuously missing so was this a backup plan? Who knows. Check it out if you like.

Finally a flashable as usual u guys rock!! any reason not deodexed??
Odin is still definetly the way to do it.. coming from fc09 all the apps came with but still have 4g randomly coming on plus random reboots and freezing up when scrolling through the market hopefully this fixes all that. would still love to have sound for boot animation and some kind of sutdown animation would rock... any chance??

Coming from Odin of FC09 on BML this has all stock boot ani and sound. The MTD kernel used has the flashing Android waiting for you to stick in bootani and sound of choice. As for deodexed...easily done with Xultimate or deodexed tool of choice. If there is a big demand for the stock deodexed FC19 leak I will do it for you guys. I think Sleeper also posted a deodexing and odexing tool.

A quick google will get you better answers but odexed means each apk in app folder and each jar file in framework folder is coupled with an odex file making it more difficult to theme or mod. Deodexed combines needed info into the apk files as well as in classes.dex. Then just the apk or jar file can be modded.

The only thing deodexed is used for is theming and modding.
If you're not going to be doing either of those flashing this should be fine.
How do we strip out the Sprint bloatware? Once it's rooted, can it just be uninstalled? Or will it come out with one of the uninstaller apps?
I think it's time to try something stock again- as much as I like ThunderHawk4, I'd really like my data to work correctly by itself all the time.
I have a personal [unproven] theory that different phones react differently to different ROM/kernel combinations. My first EPIC definitely played better with a greater variety than my current refurb. Maybe STOCK is easiest for some?

Titanium backup can uninstall system apps. You can also delete them out of system\app directory with 7zip before installing.

Is there another tool besides Xultimate to deodex? For reasons too boring to explain here, I can't use Xultimate.

What does it look like?
i was hesitant to flash this due to the 2.0 / 2.1 bug of flashing first...
but decided to take the plunge.
so far so good.
passed the work test

2.2 will have no flashing bug and going back to FC09 with a brand new FC09 kernel courtesy of Earthbound. Tomorrow it will be released.
