OK here goes!
Ive just had the LG Optimus 3D ...very impressed so far! I have also got the LG 42" Plasma 3D tv.
My problem is when i connect the the Phone via USB to the TV it wont recognize the JPS files. I changed them to JPG but 1. This reduced quality and 2. (most importantly) when i view the photo i have to change it for SBS view i cant do this on every photo i view. Surley there is a way to view 3D photo's 1 after the other.
I also have a ps3 so if there is an alternative id like to know.
I have changed the file names to MPO but again same problem i have to constaly change the SBS 3D settings to view each one.
I do understand that this is new technology and we are all learning.
Thanks

There are at least 2 different freeware viewers available, for 3D photos taken with the Optimus 3D, or other stereoscopic images that you may want to view on the 3D screen.
Good to have options to the built-in viewer, which I am guessing is weak on supporting other stereo 3D formats.

seems like even the "A*o*e" suit do not support the video or photo!!!
It's all there, there is a workflow description here:
www.a*o*e.com/ie/products/creativesuite/production/stereoscopic-3d.html
Workflow overview
1. Shoot stereo footage, install A*o*e Premiere Pro and Cineform Neo3D
2. Rename assets in A*o*e Bridge for left eye and right eye
3. Use Cineform First Light to convert and multiplex each shot
4. Sync, converge, and adjust muxed assets in First Light
5. Import stereo muxed assets into A*o*e Premiere Pro
6. Edit and add 3D effects and titles in A*o*e Premiere Pro
7. Export stereo 3D assets from A*o*e Media Encoder

this workflow is for 2 separate video streams, this isn't a problem with footage from the phone so ignore that "workflow"
the video from the LG is a single MP4 file that looks like splitscreen. There is information in the MP4 header to say it is 3D (according to LG and the same with HTC and their phone). Adobe Premier will edit this without a problem, where you will run into problems is wipes, titles etc. (simple crossfades and straight cuts will be fine)
Another problem (right now) will be outputting the file, we don't yet know exactly what codec (and version) to use and how to format it (MP4 3D header?) so it plays in 3D back on the phone, though I expect this to come out pretty quick after the launch of the phone.
As for photos, I can edit them OK in Photoshop, though I have to rename to .jpg first and you need a good understanding of stereoscopic 3D to ensure you edit both "photos" correctly.
THanks for the tip, I will take a look the video lecture to see if it really help.
Because I am using a panasonic cam which produce SBS video and the Fujifim W3(avi) and the SH-12C(3gp) to create video, Editing and effect seems to be complicated with the PP5.5.
Because the SH-12 can only play mp4. it is getting complicate to just convert to the correct format.
I think one way will to to upload it to YT3d and download is back for viewing
People in A*o*e seems to like to work with the big camera with 2X 1080p stream other tha half-SBS or interlace video.
As for the MPO files can you open the 2 layers by just renaming them?
LG told me that the Optimus 3D supports the other 3D format, MPO, however, I've got hold of loads of MPO files as well as converting my own JPS files
None of them display properly on the Optimus 3D
If you view in the galley it does the fake 2D to 3D conversion, so still looks flat. Touch the screen and choose MPO viewer and you see 2x2D images and it flicks between them when you move the phone.
These same MPO files work fine on my 3D TV and my PC
I'm on latest 10d software.
here's an example:
JPS version: www.maffmace.co.uk/1.jps
MPO version: www.maffmace.co.uk/1.mpo
Have you tried adjusting the 3D depth?
I get a 3D image with the MPO, not the best 3D ever but works

no, all I get is:
when 1st loaded (in 2D):
Slideshow
MPO Viewer (just shows images seperately and flicks between them when you move the phone)
3D

Set as
Crop
When in "3D" mode (not actual 3D, just the phone doing it useless 2D to 3D conversion of a 2D image):
Slideshow
MPO Viewer (just shows images seperately and flicks between them when you move the phone)
back to 2D

I get exactly as the same as you get, looking for a solution. May somebody report that to LG and give us the result.
I've told LG UK who have passed it on to their R&D department

How do we playback 3d movies on 3d TVs transferred from O3D device to USB for playback on TV.
I tried it but it shows side by side format and not 3d.
Anyone else tried transferring tyhe 3 dmovie to usb for playback on 3d tv or 3d laptops like acer or asus?
Have you activated 3D mode on the phone?
Is there a manual 3D mode on your other screen?
You have to activate 3d mode on your 3d tv and set it to side by side but I think the 3d effect isn't that good on the top and there is major ghosting present

i have 3d laptop with active interlaced 3d.
Now whereas transferred pictures are in complete 3d, the movie is not.
Side by side format as input and output as interaced 3d real 3d works using steroscopic player.
Cyberlink power dvd for example also has an option to select source format and one has to choose side by side as source.
Thanks mate.
JOb done
I don't own a mini to normal HDMI cable so I haven't hooked up my phone directly to my 3D monitor (LG passive) yet but I just transfer the pics and movies to my pc and play them with TriDef mediaplayer or Stereoscopic Player and that works great.
If I 'simulate' hooking up my phone to my monitor directly by opening a movie in mediaplayer classic, letting it play side by side in fullscreen and setting my 3D monitor input setting to SBS the movies look worse, less 3D and more ghosting.
I have a sony 3d tv, hook up mini usb works no problem. quality is not to good of a 46 inch tv (pictures, games)
Just switch your tv onto sbs.
For images rename .jps to jpg, resize to 1920x1080 pixels and view full screen. SBS works perfect then
You dont need to change the name if you are using tridef.
If you are viewing through a normal player you may need to choose SBS and rename as jpg.
But which normal player allows to choose SBS? I only know of Photoshop
My monitor has lots of options to view 3D content including SBS. You should be able to change the extension to jpg and view the SBS file fullscreen in just about any application and then set your monitor or tv's 3D mode to SBS as well. That way I'm able to view pics and movies in 3D without using 3D software like TriDef or Stereoscopic Player. But like I said earlier, the quality is worse that way.
Chances are that this only works when your tv or monitor is hooked up with HDMI.
PUT phone in 3d and your tv in 3d.
I can view on my TV MPO and JPEGS but not JPS. This wouldnt be so much of an issue if the LG 3D TV i have didnt keep turning the 3 off every time i switch photo's.
Any work around for this?
Anyone have any advice on Evo 3d to LG Passive 3d monitor, such as the d2342p? It seems the LG 3d Monitor is interleaved by row; whereas the parallax barrier e3d / evo 3d / 3vo is interleaved columns... I'm thinking that the LG Optimus 3d is the same as the evo 3d...
I'd love to be able to hookup the optimus3d or the Evo3d with the LG cinema 3d / d2342p / LG 3dmonitor, but am not having any luck yet.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
I was wondering, if the youtube app has it locked into this interleaved columns to work with the glasses-free parallax barrier; could one instead access youtube.com on the browser, and select the 3d option on a yt3d enabled type video and just set it to "row interleaved" and see if that works?
Going to be giving that a try tonight.
In case any one else wants to be able to edit their 3D pics, for example to airbrush out errors or tweak colour balance or add text etcetera here is how to easily do it using only free software.
Step one (long winded way): get the pic from the phone to a pc.....connect to a wireless network, use the phones gallery and hold your finger down over the picture until the menu comes up offering you to share the picture. Choose to email it to yourself then check your email for the sent picture (if asked how to share 3D data choose to share 3D data).
Or step one (easy way): connect your phone to a Windows or Linux computer and turn on USB storage mode when the phone offers you the option. Just use the computer to browse to the picture or pictures you wish to edit (they will have .jps at the end of their name) and copy them to somewhere on your computer.
Step two: edit the pics....download and install the free photo editing software called "The GIMP" (most Linux systems will have this installed already, Windows users can download it from here. When installed just run it and choose FILE OPEN from the file menu of the program. It won't show the jps file you want so change the filetype to show in the file picker so it reads "show all files" and then you will see the jps files.
Edit the picture or pictures and when you save choose to save them as a jpeg file. It will save each pic in side by side 3D format which will work on Optimus 3D, Evo 3D and which you can also upload as is to sites like Picasaweb or Flickr if you wish to share your 3D content.
Hope this helps

Picasa and Flickr doesn't support stereo.
For 3d photos sharing I recomend to use free app Phereo 3d. This app uses Phereo.com service. Service allows you to upload stero photos, group them in albums and, more importantly, allows you to view it in all possible modes, including anaglyph, and 3d vision right on the site. Users can leave comments and rate photos by clicking “like” button. Phereo 3D allows to browse through thousands of 3D images and share your own stereo photos on Phereo.com. Application shows stereo on HTC EVO 3D and LG Optimus 3D: fully supports their stereoscopic displays and built-in stereo cameras.
You can still share your 3D content with any site using this method as the pics are in standard side by side format so 3D devices can view your content from such sites by viewing the saved pic in tbe devices viewing app (I do this with some picasaweb pics).
Phereo is good, I use it myself, but most sites do not support 3D images and this guide shows how to easily share your pics even on non compatible sites. You are right those sites do not support 3D viewing natively but the pics can be easily shared on them or with friends who have say another 3D device

i think you need to add a tag called is_3d to the meta use this http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/index.html then convert to H264 with another app

Open your video in player, hit menu button then 3D formater, here you can choose what kind of 3D video your file is. After that you will see a 3D logo near your video.

nope, its not what he means.
I think u can't force 3d logo on non-3d-video, just my opinion
i tested it now and it works, but if your video is not 3D, it will not be played correctly.
I don't understand why you want a 3D logo on a 2D video.
If you want a good 3d effect you have to use native 3d videos, converted one don't have real 3d effect.
