Whilst in the middle of a call today my mic stopped working. It won't work in calls, voice search or voice recorder but it does work when recording a video.
Any one know what's going on, is the mic itself broken and it uses a different one for videos.

To everybody using working call recording: Does it work perfectely on normal (phone at the ear), at speaker and bluetooth?
I had the problem on other phones that CR does work on normal but not on bluetooth.
I have zero voice in voice recorder. And it doesnt record voice in when i record videos. But strange this is my mic working in calling Very strange issue.I poke a needle still didnt help.Any ideas?

I am using Sony WI - XB 400 bluetooth earphones. While it connects fine and I watch movies, listen to music etc. The microphone of the device does not work with third party applications like voice recorder, discord, etc.
If I make a call and keep the phone in my pocket the mic of the bluetooth device works fine. However if I simply open up a voice recorder and keep the phone far away, so as to force it to use the bluetooth mic, no voice is recorded. The same goes while I try to test micrphone in discord settings. It detects nothing if I speak on the bluetooth mic/ tap on it, but if I tap on the phone's inbuild mic or talk into it I can see the mic working.
Anyone faced such issues?
I'm using the huawei freebuds 3 and apple airpods daily with my nord. The microphone works fine for me, people hear/understand what I say. Could it be that your microphone permissions need access? Check that out before you proceed.
But you talk about recording, are you using some kind of call recording software? If so I can tell you this is not possible without root. I have searched and tested several apps but recording quality is verry bad in such a way it's useless. I have not rooted my phone yet, so I cannot say anything about how it works when rooted.

I recently got one problem with my htc u11. My mic just stopped working, im not sure what is the problem, but its seems like its some software mistake..
I have phone for like 1 yr (got it used), never had any problem, but recently my mic stopped working in cellular calls, camera, and any other app that use it
BUT, on a cellular call, when i switch it to loud speaker, it works? but only on loud speaker. I tried capturing video with rear and front cam, didnt work.. i tried voice record, and didnt work
It only works on a cellular loud speaker call.. but there is one interesing thing, when im recording a video, u can hear sound from mic, but just like first 0.5 sec and then it just stop
Anyone got this problem? Anyone got the solution?
btw. i got stock android 9
Try a factory reset,or clear data cache in boot menu
