[Q] Power Menus - HTC Sensation

Hi there,
I am running Android Revolution HD 3.0.3 ROM.
And I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I can change the power button menu? eg advanced power menu, for the restart of the phone to select additional options, like bootloader and recovery, make the phone silent, vibrate only...?
Is it also possible to change the quick settings from the drop down notifications, is it possible to add DYI shortcuts to these lists?
I asked the question in the forum for the ROM, but it gets so much activity, the question has been glanced over, and one answer I did not understand "It's called advanced power management, and the file for that is located in the OP with the rest of the mode. Look in there and you'll find it."
Regards
Dan

Anybody?
Please tell me if I was not clear in my post?

Use 2.1x it works well

He has @ the beginning of his post, a file you can flash through recovery that will add the advanced power menu options. I believe it has "APM" in the name of the file. Try the "add on's" section.

Thanks for your response, I was unsure about this, I see his post but the Advanced power menu states its for 2.1.x not 3 plus it isn't in the all ROMs section but specifically in the 2.1.x.
I will give it a try.

Perfect, thank you everyone, it worked a treat.
I would have tried it before asking if it didn't state 2.1.x

[Q] Disable the Power button menu when the phone is locked

Hi.. I am looking for a method to disable the Power button menu when the phone is locked. I also don't mind if the solution disables it permanently.
I was interested in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811532
But couldn't find more info on disabling the power button menu in that thread. Since I am new I can't post my question in that thread.. :-(
I am ok with a similar solution as in one which involves editing the dex/odex files. Even though I am not a developer I know my way around that.
I am using Nexus S with CyanogenMod 7.0.3
Thanks in Advance!
Why you want to do that?
With cyanogen, yo can unlock with trackpad only if you want
i am using Nexus S, so no trackball option for me.
any other option?
any other solution? anyone?? wud really appreciate the info..

[Q] Remap app-switch key to menu?

I have not bought One S yet (not released here) and unless this one issue is cleared up, I might have to let go my favorite upcoming phone
As most of you know, HTC One series comes with 3 keys, back, home, task switch. I do not know what the heck were they thinking removing the menu button and replacing it with task-switcher.. (that should've been long press on home).
For some more info about the issue: http://bit.ly/zbi4Nl
So my question is this:
Will it be possible to do a remap? Can we get rid of ugly "legacy menu key-bar" on bottom of screen as well?
Is anything similar done before, if so, is it hardware hack, rom or app based?
Not exactly the same, but here's a mod remapping the search key on the Nexus S to recent apps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448576
So this looks like something that has been done through software on other phones.
Hmmm.. interesting. But would the legacy menu-bar get removed from screen once the keys are remapped? Is it something ICS does by itself or a "feature" of Sense 4?
It's ICS. My honeycomb tablet is the same way. You can pull up the menu in the notifications menu and access settings that way, and can add a shortcut on the screen if you want. I'm sure you can find a way to remap it but that's how they're all coming now, it's not an HTC thing by any means.
What a shame..why would u think all ics phones are like that. Hmm has to be something so look it up. And since this phone isnt released yet this question should not even be asked or yet for anyone here to know what works.

Look at it this way, in 12 months time no one will need the menu key anymore as devs would re-design their apps where the menu will be on the action bar. Going forward the menu key is legacy and it is good that HTC is designing their new phones to follow the new design principles of Android
I'm sorry I just can't see how having less keys and everything jammed into onscreen menu is a good thing.

General question: TrickDroid v7.0.0 Tweak package

Hey guys,
No emergency here, but i was wondering. I just flashed TrickDroid v7.0.0. Previously i had an earlier version that used the multitask button as a menu button, and long press on the home button was the multitask button, i really really liked that. I reviewed the tweaks package a couple of times and could not locate anything that i thought might be that particular option. Can someone tell me what that option is called?
Please disregard this post i found the option accidentally in the buttons menu while i was looking at another post
I think it's the '3 Dot Menu option.

[Q] Edit Contacts / GPS errors

Hey guys, so I have a fresh CM10 running and I have a few questions
This may sound ridiculous, but how in the world do I edit / remove a contact? I've long-pressed, swiped, double tapped, nothing opens a menu, and there is no menu button?
Secondly - I have noticed since installing CM10 my GPS doesn't work, at all. Any advice on where to go with that?
Bump
Bump. Surely someone else has had this error it being the most popular rom?

I'm not on CM, i'm on AOKP but the process should be similar. Contacts>(choose one)>Options key (Usually remapped to right most capacitive key)
What ROM did you come from? What build are you on now? What all did you wipe before and after you flashed? I hope I can somewhat help you!
O wait some ROMs have remapping and don't have a menu button stock. Go dig in settings/ ROM controls and try to remap a button to "Menu". Maybe that will work?

I can't seem to find any rom controls. This is kind of silly though I mean a menu button should be present in every menu.... Kinda disappointed that I have to do this with such a well known rom.
I came from a fresh root and wipe / unlock.

I am on PACman which has a base of CM10.
Try going to settings -> System -> Hardware keys -> enable custom actions and it should give you the option to set up a long press remap for a menu option.

There is no "Hardware keys" section, or custom actions from what I've seen. I've been digging consistently too : /

Let me flash it real quick and see what's going on with this.
EDIT: Flashing now
EDIT2: You say there isn't a "hardware keys" section under system? I beg to differ. I found it first attempt.
open your settings
you have wireless netwroks at the top of your settings
under the wireless network section you should have interface
in the interface section is system
click that
the bottom option is hardware keys
click that and have fun.

I understand. All AOSP ROMs are completely custom to the user, meaning they can program what buttons they want to do what. Which is why it's not set as default. And yes, you are blind.
Also, edit your title and put solved in it. That way someone doesn't come in here and try and answer this a month down the road, when it's already been answered.

HTC 10 split screen options

First, please forgive me if there's a sub thread for this phone. I didn't find it, and the help saying use the device forum went back to the menu where I already didn't find it. ?
My issue is that my HTC 10 suddenly decided that every press of the overview button will now activate split screen, not just long press. I remember when I first turned this function on there was an option did I want it to activate split screen on normal press or long press, but now I've spent two days on Google and cannot find this option! I can't seem to turn the function on or off as the help pages refer to menus I do not have. (Device and Multi window - they aren't there!!) and other help only tells me that long press should be working. I've had no updates since it was last working normally.
Please, anyone know where this option is hidden?

Go to your application manager and find the app(s) that control split screen and clear data and wipe cache.

Any ideas what I'm looking for? I had a scroll through and nothing jumped out at me to be the service the controls this feature. Then again, they have names that aren't particularly intuitive.
Update - Looks like I found it, thanks. I cleared out system UI and it's normal again. Still odd that the option vanished, it was definitely an easy menu.
