Mono output test - HD Mini Android Development

Googling a bit about this, seem to be a very common problem in android devices, not only our port to mini.
Based on the suggestions and comments found in a thread on community.sprint.com, while listening to an mp3, I partially removed and re-inserted the plug but only till the middle of the jack 3,5'' hole. The audio seem to be stereo. The icon in the status bar shows headphones when it's in mono and a headset when it's stereo, but it's very hard to stay with the headset icon
According to someone in the thread, it's apparently due to "impedance" which in non-tech speak means there is circuitry in the phone that is checking to see if you have a headset or headphones plugged in and it's changing the output based on that.

I get full stereo with my original HTC headphones with phone mic!
The problem only happens on audio-only headphones.
This is related with my previous test plugging only the half of the connector.
Look at the two 3,5'' jack: Probably Android is getting the sound from the two rings closer to the wire.
- The HTC headset have three rings, probably use the iner two for both audio channels and outer one for the mic
- Another standard headphones only take the audio from one channel and sound mono
Could be possible to change the source of the channels to the two outer rings?

Toggleheadset is an aplication to change headphones to headset mode. It should solve the problem, but unfortunately doesn't seem to work with froyo
I donwnloaded from the market (toggleheadset2), installed but swithching it of/off don't change anything

Whit my headset Sennheiser px200 3.5 mm TRS Mini-jack (model for iphone first generation) i have no audio problem. (two rings).

I'm not 100% sure, but installing this widget seem to solve the problem. The switch on/off don't work but I have stereo now

I installed toogle headset and i think doesn't resolve the problem.
Looks like we have stereo in android only when android detect headset with mic. In other case , we have mono.
Tested with:
Sansung original headset with micro: android detect the micro and i have stereo.
HTC original with micro: android detect the micro and i have stereo.
3 headset without micro : I have mono but if i introduce the headset slowly and android thinks i have micro (The icon change) the sound change to stereo.
Regards

RADIO FM Works
To ear FM radio:
Go to WM
Conect your headset ( I tested it with 2 headset with micro: Original HTC and sansung)
Start fm radio in WM
With FM radio on , run haret
Start radio fm in android.
You can heart the FM radio without 5 seconds sound problem.
I think is the same problem as the stereo sound and mayby the fix will be the same.
Regards.

Wired headset and Wired headphones

Did a search and couldn't find anything so here goes a simple question: If you have a wired headset that works for the phone. Can you also use it to listen to mp3 or other audio files on the XDA II? Or do u need 2 pieces of equipment to carry around?
:?:
when it's wired it works for both phone and music
but not all wired headsets have mics which work on the xda2
prob because of the wiring differ from phone to phone
thanks I have a wired headset with audio in one ear bud. Then this will work for mp3 files/audio files as well? I will try it right now. Do i need to specify speaker/headphones in the audio system or does it revert to the headset when it is plugged in?
thanks again.
stereo headset but mono sound
Hi there,
I just bought an original O2 XDAIIs headset but realise that I only got mono sound.
I am running WM5 - WWE 2.01a 64 and radio 1.19 on Himalaya.
Is there anything wrong with the software or hardware or do I need a patch for it?
Thanks in advance!

Is there a wireless/bluetooth headset for listening to music

XdaIIs (Blue Angel)
Windows Mobile 2003 2nd Edition
Version 4.21.1088 (Build 14132)
CPU PXA263 : 125.77Mb memory
I have a bluetooth headset for the phone but you cannt play music back through it. I have the cable version for music but wondered if there was a wireless option around?
There's the Zonet ZUB8100 -- it works both as a stereo headphone and a handsfree phone headset. I've used it with my SX66.
Works pretty well as a stereo headphone, given the limits of the Blue Angel's BT implementation. Doesn't work so well as a phone headset; the mic is too far from your mouth, and it picks up too much sound from the headphone speaker it's mounted next to.
i have an bluetake I-Phono
it works both as stereo headset for listening to all sounds on the pda
and as bluetooth headset
heck if i want to i can use it to listen to sounds on another device while it's bluetooth headset for another device
thanks to you both. Will try before I buy..!

Bluetooth microphone + wired earphones.

Dear all,
I would like to use my headphones with a bluetooth microphone or headset. I like my earphones and don't want to go through the wireless A2DP BT to listen to music, but in the same time I would like to have the possibility of a hands-free solution. So my question, is it possible to have the sound output on the earphones and the sound input on the mic of a bluetooth headset (like a clip-on on which I don't connect my earphones)
Is there anybody that can fiddle with his device if he has the proper hardware?
Thanks
i think its not possible. if i connect my phone to car, audio-output is only available via bluetooth

[Q] How to enable Audio output via 2.5mm jack and Bluetooth

Hi All,
After much searching for this simple request, how to enable Audio output to the headphone / 2.5mm audio jack and output to bluetooth speakers at the same time.
This is not a request how to get music to play on bluetooth mono headphones etc.
I am wanting to have my Nexus 5 plugged into the speakers and amp in one room, then also have my UE Boom in the next room playing audio via bluetooth.
As soon as I plug in the speakers via the jack, the bluetooth sound output is muted.
Going into Bluetooth settings and unticking music and then ticking music starts audio playing via bluetooth but stops audio via 2.5mm jack.
Any settings I need to know about? Apps or custom ROMs to do this simple feature.
Think of this as a keep playing to speakers when headphones are plugged in. Possible in Ubuntu, is it possible on Android?
Many Thanks,
Rob.

Just to bump the thread, as I know how fast paced the Nexus 5 forum is, and I have waited 10 days before re-asking.
Anyone with information that could help?
Many Thanks,
Rob.

3.5 Audio Jack for Mic Boost

Hi,
I have the following question, most (maybe all) smartphones have a 3.5mm audio jack which also allows headphones with a mic (included with some phones) since it has TRRS.
What i want is a way to connect a normal mic which is TRS (i has have a TRS->TRRS adapter) to that 3.5 audio jack in order to increase the mic volume in my phone, one main reason is when my phone is connected via bluetooth to some speakers like in the car, it will automatically decrease the mic volume.
Any suggestions?
Anyone?
This is really annoying as bluetooth lowers mic volume to almost noting...
I have discovered that mixer_paths.xml file might help in boosting the mic on bluetooth and that it also might a cyanogenmod bug...
Is anyone familiar with the values in this file and what they mean?
