Is there a wireless/bluetooth headset for listening to music - General Topics

XdaIIs (Blue Angel)
Windows Mobile 2003 2nd Edition
Version 4.21.1088 (Build 14132)
CPU PXA263 : 125.77Mb memory
I have a bluetooth headset for the phone but you cannt play music back through it. I have the cable version for music but wondered if there was a wireless option around?

There's the Zonet ZUB8100 -- it works both as a stereo headphone and a handsfree phone headset. I've used it with my SX66.
Works pretty well as a stereo headphone, given the limits of the Blue Angel's BT implementation. Doesn't work so well as a phone headset; the mic is too far from your mouth, and it picks up too much sound from the headphone speaker it's mounted next to.

i have an bluetake I-Phono
it works both as stereo headset for listening to all sounds on the pda
and as bluetooth headset
heck if i want to i can use it to listen to sounds on another device while it's bluetooth headset for another device

thanks to you both. Will try before I buy..!

Jabra BT620 review with i-mate SP5 (stereo bluetooth)

I purchased a Jabra BT620 bluetooth stereo headphones and wanted to give an update after listen to them for several hours..
I updated my i-mate SP5 to add the A2DP stereo bluetooth mod.
First off I want to say that there is NO "high pitched digital disturbance/distortion" like I have experience with other bluetooth stereo headphones like the Moto HT820 and the Plantronics Pulsar 590A with my i-mate SP5.
Pretty comfortable .... did not notice any issues after wearing them for about several hours... To me the most comfortable stereo bluetooth headphones I have used.
The max volume level is not bad but wish it was capable of going a bit louder. the bass level was fair but not great..
I also got them to work with my computer bluetooth adapter. Also sounded very good.
Conclusion:
Comfort - 9/10
Sound Quality - 8/10 (no high pitched digital disturbance/distortion)
Weight - 9/10
Battery life - 10/10
ok. How do you rate:
Pairing.
Does the BT620:
A) pair up automatically when you power it up like the HT820
B) pair up when you press the mode button like the FA303
C) require a refresh in bleutooth connection settings to pair like many others
Phone headset profile.
When a call comes in does it automatically switch to headset profile?
When placing a call, does it automatically select headset profile when the call connects?
Is there a headset profile specific button that will bring up the voice dialer when pressed?
AVRCP
does this work?
does it pause music when phone conenction occurs?
I really want to buy this headset but will take a pass if I have to go into bluetooth connection prefs everytime I want to pair....
According to Jabra's specs, this device is certainly capable of AVRCP based music pause/resume.
they automaticly pair in headset profile , but in order to get wireless stereo you have to go to connections->bluetooth-device and set as wireless stereo each time.
wish there was a fix for this, at least some sort of shortcut
AVRCP based music pause/resume/next works very well

Bluetooth Stereo only plays mono source over left channel

Hello,
I have a number of mono sound sources (Internet radio, Audiobooks on MP3 etc...) and can't figure out how to make the A2DP connection to my bluetooth stereo headsets play the mono source over the right AND left channels. I don't care that it would be mono+mono.
Is there anything I can do to configure this from the WM6 SmartPhone itself? I've connected my HTC X730 (Verizon rebranded) to 4 different stereo headphones and one of them did play the stream over both right and left channels, but none of the others did.
??
Thanks.
Bill Fields
are you shure that you connect it by using a2dp ?
when you connect it as a headset, you will only hear mono.
you have to connect it as a bluetooth stereo headset !
Pretty sure I guess. I go into Bluetooth settings and select "Set as Wireless Stereo". That, and the SmartPhone home screen's titlebar icon looks like a headphone with a music note inside it.
One other side-note, if I listen to the same content on my PC with WMP it plays over both speakers, but if I stream it via A2DP from my phone to the same PC via the WMP on the phone, it only plays over the left speaker.
maybe you should try an other (newer) rom

Bluetooth headset.

What bluetooth headsets will work with the touch diamond?
other question: why should there be any headsets not working?
i have a really cheap but nice looking samsung headset, no problem to get paired with the diamond. should work with any other headset, too!?
My existing is just a cheap iTouch bluetooth headset and it works perfectly.
I don't think Diamond has any problem to work with other brands.
I have an old Motorola Bluetooth headset (4 Years) and it will not pair with my Diamond. Looks like its time to upgrade to a Jawbone!! hehehe
i have the jabra bt3030
its a stereo bluetooth headset working on A2DP
works great and looks awesome!!
So can I listen to music through any bluetooth headset (that has headsets to play music)?
My Plantronics P590 works like a charm

Say something about the sound, it is better (or/and louder) then original HS or same quality?
Here you go!

Theres a app called btAudio (keep a google-eye open for newer versions) that does exactly this, it will send ALL sound to the headset, despite of what windows had in mind for the sound (as in if it was gonna use headset or build-in speaker)
Tho, it sometimes chokes when you dont shut down the app before you disable the bluetooth headset or phones bluetooth function, but i guess that kinda makes sense (its even sayd in the program to not do that, but im a sucker for trying such things hehe)
And another thing, this happend for me too (taken from comments on some site, linked below)
The program runs well however if you try to make a phone call with the blue tooth ear piece while the program is active the program is not available after the call is completed.
I had to reset my phone to enable the program again. - source of comment
Guess thats related to windows not being to happy theres multiple apps using the headset, lets hope for a next version which auto-disables when calling and re-enables when u hang up.
I'm waiting for this one (Jabra BT530, due end August according to Play.com)...
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/16778.htm
Got the manual that Jabra put up on their support site for a day or two before taking it off. Manual says it also supports A2DP and can stream music.
And what about battery life? Could somebody using bluetooth stereos write how long the Diamond can last, and what is the overall impact on battery life while listening to music?
I use this headset, its got very good sound and is also nice and comfortable, since i have my tragus peirced i cant wear "normal" headphones!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-DRBT20...6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1216998998&sr=8-6
It also works on my pc and my PS3 as a wireless headset/mic!
I have proper enclosed stereo headphones Dell DH-200 with volume control, next and previous track plus play/pause buttons and it all works fine with HTC DT. The only think I am not sure about is which profile it is using, the sound is not as good as when I have it paired with my laptop, which would suggest a low speed profile as opposed to HQ.
You can change the bluetooth profile in Schap's Advanced Config. I've set bitpool to 70, max to 76 and min to 64. Now the sound quality is waaay better.
I can't connect my Jabra 320's (worked with SE W880i) to BT Stereo, it only see's the headphones as a handsfree unit on the HTC
Jawbone. Nothing else comes close (for hands free anyway!). And the new one even matches the Diamond... sort of!
Has anyone suffered the sound periodically dropping out for a second or two, mainly during the first minutes of connection but still persisting now and again several tracks down the playlist?

Help with blue tooth music streaming

Hey All,
I have a Diamond, and a cardo rider Q2 for my motorbike helmet. They pair up nicely for phone calls, but I cannot get music to stream to the helmet.
All other functions work fine. If I press a button on the phone the sound of the button comes through.
The annoying thing is that my friend has a N95 and it works just fine, so I know the headset is capable.
Is there some setting that I need to change? Or a download to fix this?
Any help would be appreciated. And please take it easy on me as I am not very capable with technology.
Thanks In advance
Adam
Adam,
Double click on the icon of the paired headphones on the bluetooth screen and make sure that Wireless Stereo is ticked.
The system is using two profiles- one for phone calls (headphones) and the other for music (Wireless Stereo). Yout helmet BT earphones should be able to switch in between as long as they are enabled.
CD
Hey CD, thanks, I tried that, but..
When I do that it only gives me the option of "hands free".
If I plug in my wired HTC head phones while maintaining the blue tooth connection to my helmet and play music the music comes through the wired headset, but when I try to voice activate an outgoing phone call the music changes from the wired headset to the bluetooth headset temporarily.
I have the same problem (posted on another thread) Jabra 320's I use to cycle to work, worked OK with my SE W880i. But like you the TD only registers 'hands free', I have checked the profile in BT and it only shows hands free, there is no BT Stereo box to tick/untick. I have tried installing/uninstalling and using a third party BT program (recommend in a previous thread) and have just upgraded to the new official Rom all to no avail.
I think the TD likes some stereo headset's but sees some others as just a mono handsfree unit.

I have the same Jabra 320's... finally got them working as Wireless stereo pressing the main button again and again during pairing... I didn't know it was going to work - It was out of frustration!!!
I tried several times with my 320's (deleted, re-installed, tried different ways/software) all to no avail.
There is a software upgrade for the 320's on the Jabra site but you need a special usb connector to flash the unit.
In the end I picked up the newer BT3030 cheaply on e-bay and they were recognised straight away as Handsfree and stereo BT streaming.
Both the 320's and 3030's have the A2DP profile, so not sure why the don't see the 320's correctly?
So happily cycling to work again with the BT3030 and listening to BT stereo.
In order for you to do what you want your headset must support A2DP Bluetooth profile (and even if it does it may not work!). That is the profile needed to send stereo music from the HTC. Most handsfree units do not do that - they just support headset and handset Bluetooth profiles.
There is a utility available called BTMusic that can be downloaded free from here. This will allow music to be sent using the headset or handset Bluetooth profiles, and it worked with my Parrot car kit, so it may work for you. The problem is that it is mono only and the quality of the sound is not brilliant - after all these profiles were never designed for that.
So the alternative is to find a new headset that supports both handsfree and A2DP profiles and works with both.
umm yea... i went through EVERY SINGLE thread this thing has. none of the programs work for me period.

[Q] Bluetooth valume

So I'm not to impressed with the volume of the bluetooth or the headset jack on this phone. When I play music through the car with either the bluetooth or headset jack, there just isn't enough volume. I'm no pro at audio, but I'm built a few systems in my day. I've used this Ipod in my moms TL and it worked great with the AUX imput jack, but in my Forte it just doesn't have any balls. So, it there a setting on the phone that I just don't see, or is the audio output of the phone just that week?
