I'm not a big fan of the CRT-ON/OFF effect, and I was wondering how i could remove it. (I'm on ICBINB KH2)
Yeah ... same here?
Not really sure about removing it but I know with "blade buddy", from the market you can speed up the animations making crt unnoticeable.

You'd have to pull the framework-res file and either edit the on and off animation files, or replace them with GB stock animations, and repackage the framework file.

So, now that we have a Kernel that supports custom boot animation-THANKS IMNUTS-I am curious about something?
Firs here is a thread XDAholic shared with me-thanks-that has a ton of custom boot animations...all credit of this is not mine-thank JaeKar99 for them
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053250
my question is I realize that boot animation while having Voodoo enabled is a bit choppy. Is it for the custom animations as well? I notice some are choppy and some are not. Can others let me know how its working for them? From what I have read if its choppy due to Voodoo no one knows how to fix it yet.
What about being able to change the boot sound? Its still the stock sound even when I put the custom animation in?
Also, while we had the stock boot animation I like others used the boot animation changer app from the market and applied a new animation. Now while this didnt change the animation it did make the animation smooth. I wonder what it did to smooth it out? Anyone?

the laggy boot animation has something to do with the kernel, a bug perhaps but not necessarily due to lagfix/voodoo. imnuts said if you unzip one of those packages and drop the animation in /system/media or /data/local it should work... the stock droid animation will still be choppy as he doesn't know why or how to fix it but new different ones should work fine, as for the sound file it may need to be removed or replaced
blazing through on my VZ Droid Charge 4G
Adding the bootanimation.zip files work perfectly, at least the few I tried, not choppiness like the standard boot animation
To modify the boot sound, you need to remove/replace the PowerOn.wav in system/etc.
It needs to be named with the capital P and O like above.

+1 does work for me too.. I know changing the boot animation seems like a small issue (I think the original Droid one is cool but it doesn't work right lol) but its nice to have options, THANKS IMNUTS
Only the stock animation is laggy with voodoo kernels. Custom boot animations run just fine.
ok can some one help me. I put new animation in data local, then system media. With no success. So then I deleted the stock one. Which on boot displays nothing, but can still here sound. Just want to change the animation. What does it take?
I got it

Ok, so I finally finished my boot animation and loaded it in with the proper coding and it is very choppy (media or local folder). I tried it with heavily compressed jpgs, and full pngs and it made no difference. It looks as if it is running at half the frame rate (or less). I designed it to run at 15fps (which is what everyone seems to believe the "15" means next to the "480 800" in the desc.txt file). I have no duplicate images to slow it down. Also chaning the number at top (15) to any other value causes the animation not to display.
I don't have a lot of pictures, no more than any other standard boot animation.
I do have a lot of folders though (11). What I discovered is that the second number that most people say doesn't do anything, actually indicates how long a single image, in its respective folder, displays, aka a pause. That comes in very handy in saving space, as you don't have to duplicate the same still image to create a pause.
All individule animations are in their own folders. What I could try is have two folders and manually create the pauses with duplicates, and reduce the resolution to compinsate for the size of the folders. I have a feeling it won't help though.
I'm running the Froyo TW4 version of Eclipse.
since it seems the majority just want to run ICBINB ( per the massive amounts of pm's i get about this) and some thread post heres how to to it
You need
The following apks
from Audiophile
DialerTab
Phone
settings
mp3
mms
contacts
alarmclock
Framework-res
Twframework
any apk u want out of audiophile u need to overwrite in ICBINB
IF you want the quick launch pull downs
what you will need to do is in the ICBINB framework and tw framework is to pull the color xml out of the apk (use 7z or winrar)
and replace them in the audiophile ones just for the color
once thats done replace those files in the ICBINB rom reflash enjoy
Thats if you want the look if you want the sound tweaks you need to replace the entire system from audiophile over icbinb and reflash mainly the section that deals with cough audio cough
now you have ICBINB audio edition
Thats sweet.

I would prefer locking and unlocking the phone to be instant with no crt animation..anyway to remove it?
Try looking in dev tools, you should be able to find it in your app drawer
dont have it
Nope, i dont have it. Running weapon 2.3.3...Anyway I can get the apk...or maybe a different way to get rid of the animation?
This has been discussed in weapon's thread.

If you install CM7, you can disable it in CM Settings.
the crt animation does not delay screen lock/unlock.
when you disable the animation the screen delay is way more obvious. you can try it yourself if you don't believe me.
Xboarder's thread has a crt-removal zip. It MAY work with your rom, it's for stock.

Can anyone confirm or deny whether Eclipse 1.4 has a sound notification when they battery is dying or dead?
If it was removed intentionally, is there any way I can get it back?
There is no sound. There might be a mod on the eclipse website, not sure though.

Hmm..
It was probably removed intentionally, lots of people including myself find it really annoying . If you want to try to get it back, rename the file of the notification sound that you want to LowBattery.ogg, and move it into the ./system/media/audio/ui folder. You need to be rooted, I use fileexplorer; awesome app.
Is there anyway to get the nexus on screen home menu and back buttons? I have cm10 ROM lg thrive.
Sent from my LG-P506 using xda app-developers app
AOKP is capable of doing that, it's under "navigation bar" in rom control in settings. I don't think cm10 has that though.
Is there maybe a flash able zip mod?

ok, since programming is usually logical, i appealed to LOGOS or logic in greek.
well. if you take apart the system UI .apk, and create an xml res file for the buttons, and then use java to insert a settings on/off button, it could work. then all you would have to do is install the modded apk. i could do that but in in 12th grade loaded with a year long project of making an android launcher. but i could potentially do this with some help and tips from others.
if anyone is interested here are the steps to doing this.
decompile the system ui .apk
add the visual layout (image files) to res folder
create them in the xml layout, so that it know where to place these buttons
create a class or do this within a class, and add an if/then statement of on/off, so people could turn it off at will.
give it system permissions. ROOT hehe.
optional: add custom ability, to change glow color and etc.
ill give a million thanks clicks to whom ever does this asap, and im sure the lg optimus one, lg thrive community will love you for freaking ever.
thanx.
