Headphones - T-Mobile LG G2x

I am looking for a set of headphones/ear buds that sound good for playing PC games, music on my phone and pc, and are around $30-$35 or less.
I found these but am still looking around...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106419
One thing I liked about the set I posted above it that they are water/sweat proof so I could work in them with no worries. Its not a must need but that would be awesome to have. But one thing I did not like about them is that they do not have a mic so if I where running or working in them and got a call I would have to unplug them to talk.
Anyone have any ideas?
EDIT
I searched before I made this post and saw no headphone type threads and I must have missed one. Sorry for not searching better guys.

Link is broken

the link honestly does not matter anymore because I have thought about it and I am not going to pay $35s for a set of ear buds with no mic. That is just stupid.
In case you wanted the link...

HTC Inspire HAC Mode

I am hearing impaired and wear hearing aids in both ears and when I choose the HAC mode under Calls in settings, it mutes the audio on both incoming and
outgoing calls. You don't even hear the phone ring but when the call is answered you can't hear the person you called and they can't hear you. With HAC off
the phone works but I can barely hear it with out my aids even with the volume full up. Any one using HAC?

My dad wears hearing aids in both ears, and he recently got an inspire. I'll check with him tomorrow and see what his experience has been.
I know many people consider the volume level of the phone to be too low, I personally don't have any issue with it, but I don't get/make a lot of calls.
My Dad hasn't complained about it so far, and believe me, the guy isn't shy about returning things he isn't happy with, but I'll check with him anyway, and post again later in the day on Monday.

Thanks Scott, if you and your dad don't mind checking it (HAC on and Off)
while making a call it would be great to know what he thinks.

I'll see what I can do. I don't know if he even knows about the HAC mode. I know I didn't until your post.
I won't see him until later today, just doing my morning xda check-in, atm.

Well, he was in a hurry, but I managed to talk a litte bit about it.
I asked him if he knew about the HAC setting, and as I thought, he didnt, so I asked him how the phone was performing in terms of using it with hearing aids, and he actually said it's loud, and that he doesn't even need to use the external speaker, which surprised me.
That explains why I hadn't heard any complaints coming from him, or questions about the HAC mode.
When I briefly glanced at the setting on my phone, it's description does indeed say something like "boosts volume of incoming calls."
If I get the chance again I'll see if he can actually turn the setting on and give him a test call, as you suggested. Like I said, he was in a hurry to get to a dinner engagement.
May not be today, but if you subscribe to this thread, and then check it occasionally, I'll post back when I'm able to get an answer for you.

Thanks Scott, I really appreciate your efforts. By your dad saying that it was loud, they might have turned it on at the store for him, that would be good to know. The HTC support tech told me they have not had any complaints about the HAC, but I have had two phones in two days with the same problem.
capman231
That's something I didn't check. I will take a look at his phone, next time I see him.
I'll keep you posted. Having a dad with impaired hearing, and hoping I don't follow suit later in life, I can sympathize, and won't forget about you...

Thanks for the info gtg465x. Wonder if HTC is aware of this? I have been talking with them and I must say their tech support people are real nice and helpful. They actually speak english with out an accent which makes it easy if your hearing impaired like me. I was surprised that the techs I have been talking to are in Knoxville TN, only 2 hrs from me.
Is there anything you can tell me specifically about this problem that I can pass on to them?

Well on my phone I could hear the other party but they couldn't hear me. All they heard was an echo of themselves. Speakerphone mode worked fine though.
Well that got cleared up, thanks to gtg465x.
Just to follow-up on my previous post, HAC was not enabled on my dad's phone.
And its a darn fine thing, evidently, or else that new phone of his would've been back to Costco in a heartbeat.

Thanks gtg465x, what you describe is what mine does most of the time, but a couple of times when the HTC tech called my phone I couldn't hear him and he couldn't hear me but on several other calls it did exactly what you described.

Sick of low volume levels?

Check out sound hack by meltus for sensation in market. Doesn't require root. Only runs on gingerbread 2.3 for now. Works well!!!!!
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G
Does it boost volume of the speakerphone during calls? The speaker on the back of the Sensation goes about as loud as the earspeaker on other phones.

Meltus' only app that "officially" supports the S4G is the Volume+ sound hack. It works for me but it is not free. I think its 1.60usd. All I can say is to try it for 15 mins and play with the settings as I did or try the other threads settings to see if it works for you before the 15 mins are up.
if you reed the description, the app is paid on the market, but their is a download link of the same program, but slightly older version (still going to be updated in the future, as far as i know) that you can get from the developers website.
androidaudiohacks [dot]com/home/volume-gingerbread/download
This means try the free one, and if you want the extra features and know you like the app, get the paid app from the market
Yes it does

Volume+ (Sound Boost) APK
here is the latest ver. of Volume+ (Sound Boost)
No Luck
I cant get volume+ to work after i bought it. It tells me "(process com.TEST.android.lvh) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again" I have PlayerPro installed. could that be causing the conflict?
ok quick question and theory here. i bought the standard case from bodyglove from tmobile with my sensation, and i just took it off and notice lil holes all over the back of the phone. i know alot of devices with speakers and mics have this to do sound cancellation and what not. if u guys got cases on maybe the case is muffling the sounds and making the volume super low just cause i thinks it doesnt have to be loud. i doubt this is the reason but just wanted to throw it out there.
You can try Equalizer from the market. I got it and it definitely works.

Good point. I have the bodyglove case as well. But i think the only speaker is on the back and top of device. So i dont think theres a problem there. Unless the case covered the top hole on right of camera.

It's nothing to do with klipsch. I had that happen to me when I had the i9000 (with voodoo sound) and bose mie2. It's the way the headphone input is made (the poles and the what-not being different).
When I got my S2 - it works fine without the mic-holding.
Either return it or get those mini-rubber bands. =)
OP the only difference between the s4 and the s4a is that the s4a has a mic.....
I was previously waiting for the S4As to come out in Canada, but instead I got the Shure... i forgot which one but it was 99 bucks. I can swap out the cable for one with a mic.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I just bought these earphones. Maybe I should have researched them more, but becouse they were for android I assumed they would work. I am experiencing the same problem(have to hold the button down for normal sound). I downloaded the klipsch control app and it says that the "playmediabuttonreceiver" might be interfering with the app and earphones. Any one ever come up with a fix for these headphones to work on the i9000, or am i going to have to return them?

Get a good one. not the cheap ones. I have an adapter and it works perfectly.. S4i / S4A / Or any Apple iPhone compatible headset needs this.:good:

Tv out?

Is there a way to display the phones screen on the tv?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Hmm a bit behind times are we?
Depends on what roms your running for 1.
Ultragen rom has TV out. I tried it, was going to use my phone as a smart TV function to see xbmc movies, and doesn't work for me. Maybe not the right cable.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
What about on stock? Right now I'm on galaxy beam
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
It works on stock.
Could we get someone with a little knowledge to elaborate on this topic? I've been trying to get tv out my phone for two years. The ONLY rom I've ever been able to get it to work with is Ultragen. I don't like ICS though. Does anyone know of a BML rom in which tv out will work? Does anyone know WHY it matters what rom you have? Or maybe how to change something somewhere to make it function properly? I would LOVE to be able to get it working on Valhalla Final.......
I keep hearing ....its a matter of the right cables....I've purchased several cables at different price ranges...and hooked them up multiple ways and the best I've managed to get is a very distorted partially visible snowy screen with audio.
And that's with every rom.
From what I understood is it works on CM9, but there is a green line when you change the rotation.
Alternatively, if what you want is to display pictures or videos from your gallery on TV
and assuming you have Smart TV hooked up to your router. You could use iMediaShare
app, (or any DLNA capable app in the market) it works wonders, to stream any video
or pictures from your phone (or youtube) to your TV. Without the hassle of cables
and such.
Besides, I used RCA cables before with our phone, and picture quality is (outright) crap.
Thanks all for the input. Smart TV, which I just purchased anyway, is a pretty good option.
My main interest in the feature was the ability to play emulators from my phone on the tv.
I read a post FBis251 wrote about being able to sync your wiimote to your smartphone so you could use it as a controller for your emulators.
Not too big a deal, as I don't travel often, it would just be neat.
Once again, thanks for the input all.

Can we try to get back on the track of the hows and whys of this feature?
As in why? doesn't the feature work...
and how? could I, an average American with a little bit of itelligence and common sense, fix it?
I'm by no means trying to take away from what the devs do, it simply amazes me, but there has to be a way of getting the feature to work.
I would not go as far to say the roms are incomplete without the feature, as it wouldn't be used that often, but come on guys, how cool would it be to have a multi platform emulator on the fly!?!?

Nope.
It works on GB. Go back to GB, stay on GB and use TV out.
@lumin30-I'm so sorry man. I just read your post and realized I forgot to thank you for your pm response. My bad my man.
I haven't figured it out on GB. I got it on the Ultragen, which I believe is ICS, so anytime I need the feature I just switch to my Ultragen backup.
Only downside is I haven't figured out how to get back to GB other than Odin, which really isn't a big deal either, just a little inconvient.
Tv out works on ics but has a green bar at bottom of screen in landscape but not in portrait. Here are instructions with pics and a link to a video. Make sure you select NTSC. For some reason default PAL. Also make sure your 3.5mm jack has 4 pins like the one in the pic.

O.R.B Bluetooth Ring

This is probably one of the neatest things I've seen.
http://hybratech.com/products/orb.php#
It's not out yet but It looks like it'll be pretty interesting when it does.
Looks nice, but I have to remain skeptical about this one.
I've used Jawbone Bluetooth headsets before that used bone conductivity technology and was not impressed. And those Jawbone units were built larger and had an actual earpiece to help keep it in place. Twisting it constantly won't be good for it either. Sometimes with Bluetooth earpieces smaller isn't always better. Maybe it will work well, but I can't see how.
I think the message when you receive a text scrolling across it in ring form is one of the neatest features.

Definitely neat. I don't know how easy it would be to read on a ring though. I am thinking about getting one of the watches that will do similar (not a Bluetooth ear piece though) but I think it would be easier to read on a watch. I am going to let them iron the wrinkles out of the watches before a seriously look at them. The ring idea has potential, but it will be interesting to see how it works in a real world setting.
No exaggeration, I read about this and followed it's development almost 5 years ago. I wouldn't hold your breath. I think it is just fishing for email addresses now.
I wonder if this also works with music... If It does.... Then it will be godly.
