Is charging while the battery is dead working?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App

Thanks for the heads up. Lemme see how quick it works, I needed to backup anyway.
Edit; definitely faster speed, wow, took about 2 minutes to backup.

Wow backup does seems faster

I'm not sure, mines has been backing up for nearly 10 minutes now.

I noticed that too. I'm wondering because I turned the phone off and plugged it in and got the charging without it turning on. Might be straight.

Yes, backups are much faster, and I just tested. The phone does charge while turned off!

Great news...will take it for a spin!

ummmm...wow

Is this recovery available on the app to flash from there ?

Noob question how do I flash it its not like the pg58img.zip file can I just push it via adb like the old days
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium

slightly interesting... through ROM Manager, i selected 'backup rom', it booted up into recovery. into Recovery and it clearly says '5.0.0.1' and then this:
Code:
Waiting for SD Card to mount (20s)
SD Card mounted...
Error processing ROM Manager script.
Please verify you have
ROM Manager v4.4.0.0 or higher installed.
manually choose 'backup' and she worked no problem. quite fast, too! anyway, thought i'd share that strange problem.

I can attest to the fact that backup speeds are significantly increased!

can someone provide this in the zip file. Please nd Thanks

just a sec, zip coming
EDIT* Thar ye be, its the exact one i used, so there *should be no issues, im running TMOUS S4G

I recevied an alert that there was an update. Went to my apps in the market and updated. Went into Rom Manager and flashed it. That was it, cwm was updated to 5.0.0.1. So does this mean that I don't have to worry about going under 3% on battery?

Help with install of coredroid rom & sense 3.0

First of all sorry if this is in the wrong section, tried to post in the section i was reading but stated i was not allowed due to me being a new member or something similar.
I have managed to root my sensation using revolutionary and have clockworkmod recovery v4.0.1.5 with orange and white writing.
I downloaded the zip file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195974 and placed into the sd card.
I went into recovery and chosen install zip from sdcard selected the zip file and everything went fine. However the phone booted up and just gives me a blank black screen while the 4 menu button lights are glowing. I press the power button and the lights go off.
What did i do wrong or have i bricked my device?
what you downloaded was a theme for the rom if you already have it installed.
boot back into recovery(power off voldown+power) factory reset, and flash this:
http://hotfile.com/dl/127201376/fdb5f53/CoreDroid_Sensation_V2.1_RV.zip.html
you should be fine. you should just have a soft brick something that is easily fixable with a new flash.
Redownload a rom. And flash through clockwork

Isn't the recovery with the orange writing the one with the problem where it doesn't charge when the phone is off?

I had that one at first..but then Rom Manager made me update it...I haven't experienced that issue with the Orange recovery I'm using. maybe because my phone is always on and I charge 3 batteries on external chargers and swap them out.
How can I get the blue one back?
Snipes yeah ROM manager updated mine. Haven't had any problems with the charging though which one hasn't got the problems the orange or blue one.

Phone keeps shutting off needs battery popped out to start

I will put my phone in my pocket and pull it out a few minutes later and it is off and holding down the power button wont start it. I need to pop the battery out in order for it start again. The battery gauge is full.
Sometimes when I'm on wifi and need to get off and use my phones internet, the data wont work unless I put my phone in airplane mode and then out of 1-3 times.

We need to know what ROM you're on, what kernel, any overclocking or under-volting and any tweaks you've applied to the system.
CM7 rom and kernel. July 15th baseband. No tweaks.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Try a new kernel Besides OC/UV is your friend.
I've been getting that and random restarts with cm7.2 RC1 at seemingly random times. Didn't really happen with nightlies.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
I'm not using the 7.2, I'm using the 7.1. I agree, the nightlies were better! I actually just recently had to wipe and redo everything. I charged my phone over night one time woke up and under plugged it and it shut off. I turned it back on and the battery said 1%. I was confused so I rebooted hoping that would fix the issue but it just moved it to 5%. It kept rebooting and I was at the point where I had to put it down or it would of ended up in a million little pieces!
I wiped everything and here we go with more problems!
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
If you're that frustrated, use EB, no problems here with Faux's OC/UV kernel.

Sorry man, but there's no real fix for this. The G2x is defective like that.
I've tried them all, and it happens on all ROM's/kernels.
But if you go to settings>applications>development, select the "Stay Awake" option.
After checking that it never happens to me anymore. But that down part is that when you charge your phone you have to manually lock it. In other words, you can't just leave your phone idle while the screen is on. Otherwise it'll stay on the whole time. So just lock it every time you plug it in to charge.

Stay awake only happens when it's charging. Since I'm sure the op doesn't have a charger in their pocket I'm sure it won't help

Try flashing a kernel that allows undervolting and do the opposite, ADD +25mv or +50mv across the board and see if that helps with the reboots and freezing.

Try adding like +25 or +50mv across the board on the kernel.
That sounds like your lowest few voltages are causing SOD's got your phone, not all chips are created equal

Thank you chris! Wasn't as straight forward as a i thought it would be lol I had to open my terminal and remount the system as read/write and copy the file to /mnt/emmc/ Cuz apparently when you download the file straight to your phone, it stores it in the download folder on your external sdcard. Clockworkmod works off of the /mnt/emmc/ directory aka internal storage.

it seems like your using an older version of CWM
if you want try updating to the newest, just do a search for it in the android development section. flash it using NVflash.
that way if you need to use it later for something you can access both internal and external at the same time

File bricked my phone.
I feel so damn dumb! The flash-recovery.sh file for linux isnt missing a file. Its not named properly. The bash script looks for cwm-su660.img but it is named recovery-p999-5.0.2.8.img So the flasher cant find it and shows an error. This will cause problems and brick your phone like it did mine!
I renamed the file and it flashed properly but CWM is the same version and not updated.
Here is a working CWM v5.0.2.7 i made. I took my old CWM and found a working up-to-date CWM image and tweaked the file http://www.4shared.com/zip/9h4mmcSp/nvflash-CWM_Recovery-5027.html
I am now rocking the new CWM its so much better! I can install zips from internal and external storage just like Klathmon said.

Hows the dark knight rom working out for you. im planning on flashing it later tonight?
I really like it , ive only had it for one day I used the hemidall one click to stock here is what I do, below are how i perform using qkster's method...
The USB + Volume Down + Volume Up Method: Download mode (Noticeable by an Android robot digging with a shovel) is reached by taking everything out (Battery, SIM, MicroSD). plug in the USB cable to your computer and phone then putting in battery at the same time Holding the volume buttons both up and down, (Don't press the power button at all in this method).
How to INSTALL:
1. Put your phone into Download Mode.
2. If you have not used Heimdall, you will need to set up the driver for device recognition.
3. Once your device is connected, the DEVICE STATUS should show: CONNECTED. The long FLASH bar will also turn on for flashing.
4. Click on the FLASH button. (In my opinion: I recommend that you do this in a safe environment. Do not disturb your phone will flashing this firmware. Turn off Antivirus. Do not run any other programs, upload/download/youtube/burning DVD etc)
5. Once it has completed, your phone will reboot. You will hopefully see the ATT logo and reboot into STOCK UCLB3.
6. If it did not work, you will have to put it back into DOWNLOAD mode and reflash a second time, with the FLASH BOOTLOADER box checked. This is more likely if you never had proper Gingerbread bootloaders on your phone, if you are coming from FROYO or if you never had Odin a Gingerbread leak to get your bootloaders.
download this file for your one click to stock...and using above directions...
once that is done and you want to put CWM mod on for flashing a custom ROM, same directions to get in to download mod...
download this file to use the one click to put CWM mod on your phone
here is the link where i took all this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524081
Then I flash the dark night ICS rom like the op says and it run nice and smooth no lagg so far or any fc really other than when I put S voice onto my phone.. and like I said that Bluetooth, torch, HD video record is choppy, and no hdmi but I really like I just hope they get the flash light sorted out soon I use it all the time!!!

I've had this happen on cwm not the entire sdcard but random items or folders. But what I have noticed is that it's not happening after the flash its actually happening after I mount as disc drive then unmount went back and checked before flashing and things were missing.

I doubt this is a CWM problem IMO, I am using TWRP and I have this problem too, for me this has happened 3 times so far, and always after mounting in ubuntu (I always umount and eject). 1st time it deleted few tibu files, later a major part of pics, zips and tibu. Latest yesterday. Lucky I use unison and sync my files...
Wondering what it is?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Flashed maybe 5 times or so using CWM, various builds of CleanROM, and also rooted deodexed 1.85. Every time was fine, except the latest time where I lost a bunch of random folders and files. All my music was gone, but folder still there. CleanROM mods folder not there. Titanium Backup folder gone. Couple photos and videos were corrupted, but files still there. Lots of stuff ended up in the LOST.DIR folder (randomly renamed).
At some point had mounted to a Windows PC to sync music. Not sure if the corruption/missing files happened before or after that.
Luckily, I had backed up most stuff fairly recently to my PC. Mostly due to the fact that one user on the CleanROM thread had posted that his whole SD card wiped somehow while flashing. I only lost a couple photos, and not anything I was interested in trying to recover.
As the cause is not yet known (and seems to be on TWRP and CWM), I'd recommend backing up anything you don't want to lose, before flashing anything. Especially the Titanium folder, and anything not replaceable and of sentimental value (like photos).
I had this happen, and I too think it is more of an issue with transferring files over USB and then not properly unmounting the device before unplugging or something like that. At any rate, I used Piriform's Recuva software to recover my files. Found everything, all my pics and videos, and zip files, etc... And it is free.
Run the scan ASAP as transferring files over to the device could start to overwrite the "deleted" stuff.

[Q] **NEED HELP** Phone Stuck on HTC Screen after Radio Update!!

Hello,
So hopefully I haven't screwed up royally here, but here's the problem:
Rooted phone, running CM7.2 Nightly (I forget the version)
Went to update radio from this wiki (wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Speedy_Info) page - checksum matched.
Renamed file to PG06IMG.zip
Booted into HBOOT, ran update, rebooted.
HBOOT Info:
-----------------
SPEEDY XE ENG S-OFF
HBOOT - 0.93.2001 (PG0610000)
RADIO - 1.08.00.0506 (Seems the radio did update)
eMMC-boot
-------------------
Tried to reboot but now stuck on the HTC Logo screen.
What do I do now? And can you explain in layman's terms please? Still not privy to the technical stuff.
Latest radio for the Shift is 1.08.01.0111, do a search for it here, flash it in the same manner and see if it boots.

Ok, thank you both!
So, my phone is not likely bricked or too early to tell?

No its not bricked, if it were bricked the only other option would be to make it look like a pretty paperweight

Seriously doubt it's Bricked. Did you try Booting into Recovery, Wipe Dalvik, Wipe Cache, and Reboot?

Well the only screen I can get to is the HBOOT screen, which automatically tries to update from the PG016IMG.zip file on my sd card. Even I choose not to update, my only option is reboot. I assume the only other way around this is to delete that file of my sd card from my computer...unless there's another way I'm missing.
I'll attempt that as well once I'm at my home computer.

Delete it OR rename it (ie, "PGO6IMG-radios.zip" or whatever)

So good news I got my phone to boot again. I was able to update the radios with the latest ones, however it was continuing to get stuck at the HTC boot screen. I deleted the .zip file, was able to boot into recovery, cleared cache and dalvik cache, and after a minute or two was able to boot up.
Thanks again for the help!
And now I just need to figure out this battery drain issue. Went from 100% to less than 10% in less than 2 hours
Let me know how that radio works out and if there is any changes in the touch panel

The radios and touchpanel firmware is much newer
You can find the bootloader flashable zip in my dev-host, it says which is which in the descriptions, but the firmware update is the 12 point something MB one

Get yourself Better Battery Stats. It will let you know what's going on. Sounds like a rouge app, or wicked wake lock.
