[Q] Model Number verification for forum - Milestone XT720 General

So my friend is unsure of his model in comparison to the forums listed. his model says "Milestone X" when you browse the "about phone" menu, but on here under devices listed I get the Milestone X720 and the Milestone 2. Just want to clear up for him which forum he should be following. it is not the slider, just the candybar style phone.
Any help is appreciated. If you could just PM me the answer as well, that'd be great as I do not tend to follow this thread often.
EDIT*** Under the battery it says Motorola MB809.
Is this the model number then?

The Milestone X is not the XT720.
Your "Milestone X" is the generic model of Verizon's droid-branded "Droid X" model.
This would be your forum here:

Thanks for the info, I'll show my friend this, i'm sure he'll appreciate it.

New Category for Motorola Milestone (GSM Droid)

That's a message for the admins or mods in the forum.
I've been on your page for nearly two years. We need a new category for the new Motorola Milestone or (GSM Droid), cause we need to get root on it so we need the help of everyone who can do that. In fact, at the moment, even the Nexus One has one category and has been rooted, that the reason why we need a place where we could share our researches, apps, games and everything related to that phone.
Thanks!
Your comments will be useful if we want that new category on that Forum.

Admins are currently looking at doing this...

forum not listed under "all android devices"

makes it harder to find this forum unless you search for it.
Darkrift,
All you have to do is click "Forum" and type "Vi " and "ViewSonic G-Tablet" pops
up.
That's not too hard.
Rev
Google viewsonic gtab and xda is on the first page.
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA Premium App
I obviously had was able to find the forum or I would not have been able to make my first post. I was merely stating that this forum, which is for an ANDROID DEVICE, is not listed under the category that says "ALL ANDROID DEVICES", which might be something new users go to when trying to find this forum. I know I did, and while I was able to figure out how to get here, less experienced users might now.
Just be glad the viewsonic g tab got its own forum. Most android tablets got their own threads and that's it.

[Q] ATT One X+

I apologize in advance if this has been answered previously, but with the different variants of the One, I find it hard to determine if the one X+ ATT version has been successfully rooted and unlocked. I am seriously considering the phone, 64gb and quad core is nice but I currently use a jail broken iPhone for tethering and can not go without. If the above answers to root and unlock are 'no' then the next obvious question is: has anyone found a work around for the ATT HOX+ to tether without a carrier tether plan? The forum topic regarding the edit of the file requires root and appeared inconclusive for some. I also noticed in that thread that the users may have had a different variant like the One XL(?). Answers from ATT users would be most welcome. I've looked at Hansoon's root topic/thread but again the ATT variant has me spooked. Thanks again.
Google is your friend....but I'll be nice that phone can be unlocked/rooted...wouldn't it seem more understandable to post in the correct one x+ forum?
smh
Oh my....

How embarraskin'! I never realized the button on my XDA forums page was set to "Top Devices" and not "All" or "Newest Devices" so I couldn't find the forum for the One X+. Frankly, my experience for searches regarding XDA has always been more successful without Google and there really isn't too much on the One X+ on google just yet. But here...a wealth of info.
Thanks for the head slapping patience. I truly am an idiot and will direct my ignorance to that forum....
Yeah...I should be rooting phones....can't even root a plant.

No offense but there's more than enough info on google for a monkey to figure out how to root the one x+...can't tell if that comment was sarcastic or not
All google takes is...one x+ xda and you'll find everything....not that hard

[Completed] I bought a ZTE Grand X 2 (z850). I want to root it but I can't find out how.

I bought a bell mobility ZTE Grand X 2 or z850 I can't find any information about the phone let alone how I go about rooting it.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Whenever a phone lacks a GSMArena entry, I consider that bad news. This one seems very carrier specific (as in Bell commissioned ZTE to make this phone). So I guess we're bringing back the the old days.
Well, so at a glance at the specs on the Bell website, storage is good on this phone, so that a big reason not to need root right off the bat.
My suggestion is to try some rooting methods and document your progress in a new thread here:
> General discussion > Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking
Please note, you will need to register for an account first.
If no luck, and if root is an imperative (don't see why it would based on my first glance, but YMMV), you may want to look at other phones in Bell's line-up (hopefully there's still time for the "no hard feeling's but this phone doesn't do it for me - can I exchange with this one?" expression).
If the latter is the case, you may find this thread useful in the search (cannot remember all that well, but they may have a good BYOD program - I do remember they knock down the plan cost if you bring an unlocked phone in). And if your an east-coaster (like me), Eastlink has a strong BOYD program, that uses Bell's towers.
Hope this helps.

Xplore M60

i did look for a better place to post this question so if this is not the appropriate place, (mods) please move to the correct forum.
xploretech dot com/us/m60-handheld-computer/
i recently purchased this device (open box sale) and while i am extremely satisfied with it (i have the dual sim model, no mSD slot), i would like to root this device.
if anyone knows of a working method to root this device, comments are very much appreciated.
this is not a carrier branded/locked device.
edit: upon more research, this appears to be a "K-Touch M6" device custom manufactured and branded as "Xplore M60"
the device has Android version 8.0.0
edit2: contacting the company produces no positive results as they "...have very little information" about this custom manufactured product.
thank you.
