Are there any devs that would like to take a shot at making a custom rom for the LG Vortex? This phone alone seems to be neglected but its part of the optimus line up along with th v, t, s, etc. I was just wondering if anyone can make a gingerbread capable or just a quick snappy rom please.

Chic has just come out so I'll guess it will take a bit of time for ROMs to come out.
Hardware is almost identical to Optimus One so in theory, shouldn't be too hard to create ROMs. But One is much more popular, at least now, but could continue to be.
I bought my Chic knowing the above. Just have to be patient I guess. Hopefully the full lineup of Optimus phones will be supported by the forthcoming ROMs.
Now if I could just unlock this thing for free or cheap.

Personally I think it just looks too much like the Galaxy S interface which we already have Whitehawk's Weapons G2X ROM. I wouldn't care too much for the LG UI.
Because the LG UI sucks big eggs. I have tried it on demo phones here in Thailand and it is a bad copy of the Samsung UI, which I also hate. You want to add the 100 or so craplications that are on the 2X stock ROM also?
No one is porting it because frankly no one is porting or doing much of anything for this phone (besides the few WONDERFUL dev's we actually do have).

Its the build and firmware. Is there a way to teak them?
For example. I got the metro pcs LG esteem witch is the same as the verizon
LG Revolution just the build.img is different and they already teak the build off of the esteem and now you can flash roms from the revolution to it

The main difference is the baseband chips. They are different and incompatible.
You can port the roms if you know what you are doing but why would you want to when the 2X is still stuck on Froyo. Wait until an official 2X GB rom comes out and then maybe someone will port it so you can flash it without screwing up your phone.
i guess your right wait till the gb comes out. my main thing is that seems like were dead with developers so i figure if they dont want to keep going just tell us how to port roms from the 2x to our g2x.
if you go to the samsung galaxy s 4g they stop making roms and teach you how to flashed roms from the vibrant.
in anycase it would be nice to have the LG overlay since all we have is stock roms.
I see that there is a new LG phone on tmobile, and it runs LG touchwiz. Ive always wanted to get the good old LG touchwiz running full speed on my G2x but never seen a rom. What do you guys think???
There are so many things wrong with this... besides the fact the development forum is not a request board...
First. The MyTouch Q is not even similar in the least to the G2X... different arhitecture. If we wanted something similar with LG Framework, that would be the Optimus 2x.
Second. It isn't LG Touchwiz. No such thing exists.

they both use touchwiz
MTQ uses a Snapdragon while this is Tegra, so it's completely different and won't work. Plus, it's just an LG skinned ROM. Not TouchWiz at all. If you compare actual TouchWiz with LG's MTQ ROM you'll see they're completely different.
Samsung is the one to invent touchwiz on their galaxy series. LG UI is what you are refering too, and as someone said, the best chance we have at getting it is through Optimus 2x on AT&T/Rogers/Fido

JBOXER was trying to get the LG UI from the optimus 2x gb ota and everything worked fine other than we couldnt get any cellular signal even though we did have our original baseband. he and others had tried to get this pass but with no luck at all. it does looks beautiful on our g2x i really hope the devs can get pass this issue.

That's more progress than I was able to make porting a P999 gb rom.... I never got past bootloops. Maybe if I could get that far I would be able to get it working... Has to be possible.
See thread title. Does the LG Optimus F3Q have enough hardware specs and power to run PG? I have a friend who needs a mobile device to run it and I have a F3Q lying around I could lend her. I know I have to flash a custom ROM on it as I know it requires Android 4.4; by default it comes with 4.1.4 and I also threw a microSD card in there to make up for its abysmal storage.
Does it have the other necessary hardware? It's an LTE phone - initially got it because I thought I could use it for the keyboard, but I couldn't get the silly thing to register in T-Mobile.

The phones actually has pretty good specs so I wouldn't see why not. Not sure if a ROM will somehow let you run Pokemon go, but then again I am literally just getting into the ROM scene and am Planning to install my first ROM on the F3 as well. I say it's worth a shot though.
