BLUE THEMED GINGERBREAD KEYBOARD FROM GrainOsand BLUE STEEL THEME.
I tried to theme my own .apk without total success. fitti28 was kind enough to provide us with a .zip from GOS Fascinate theme containing the gingerbread keyboard that is black and blue.
Place zip on SD card
Restart phone in recovery mode
Select install zip from sd card
Select choose zip from sd card
Find and select GoS_SB.......zip
Reboot
EDIT: Added Screenshot (Thanks for the heads up GOS)
EDIT: Removed partially themed gingerbread keyboard and replaced with .zip file, with keyboard extracted from GOS BlueSteel Fascinate theme.

I took the gingerbread keyboard from the Gummy Charge FE2.0 rom then pulled the image files from GOS's Blue Steel theme gbkb.apk.
The keyboard did not come out exactly the same but its close. all except the color of the letters. Not sure why (I am not a themer or developer) just playing around for my own entertainment.
I find it easier to place .apk on the sd card and use root explorer to place in the system/app folder. then restart.
Install at your own risk.

Now if someone could just replace that damn smiley key with an enter key that actually adds lines within a text, I would be happy.
For some reason it didn't change my keyboard and I put it in system/app. Also matched the permissions as well. Reboot and still same keyboard.

GOS This gingerbread keyboard looks identical to your gingerbread keyboard that you themed steel blue on the fascinate. Couldnt the OP just use that one instead of updating this one?

Mostly curious if anyone has already started working on themes for the sense 2.2 leak.
But what i would REALLY like to see in a theme is simply something with a lot of cyan in it. im mostly seeing a lot of deep red/blue themes, which all look great, but i think something with a lighter color would be nice.
on a side note, i just tried to install johnnybueno's red sense theme on the 2.2 leak rom, but did it through rom managers "install rom from sd" option and about pooped myself thinking i had bricked my phone when the screen went black and wasnt responding to the power button or anything. then i pulled battery and booted into recovery.

Yeah that's why I put rom version when I post my themes.
Each time i theme something, I'm basically extracting png files from apks, editing them or replacing them, putting them back into the apks, then re-signing. Because of that, you really don't want to flash the framework-res.apk from another rom... one wrong resource will fubar your framework and you don't want that. Thankfully, because you have a custom recovery you will never brick your phone from a theme I've put together.

Didnt work on skyraider 2. The only thing it did was make launcher pro my default launcher. There was no theme at all
I have a request for anyone that can replace the HTC Launcher bar with the Espresso Bar found on some other threads, it looks so much more sleeker and it matches Sense better than the rounded one
is it possible to put it on my phone without having to flash the ROM and lose everything again? I just finally got everything the way i want it . . .

here is stock froyo rom with circle battery. all I did is pull framework-res.apk from Cog 2.2 rom and replace existing apk with it via root explorer. then I used Minimalistic Batt-Circle metamorph and replaced battery images.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
The % battery meter is easy:
Grab the Cognition 2.2 rom, strip out framework-res.apk and copy it over top of the framework-res.apk in the stock Froyo. Works great (I'm running it.)
I'm not aware of a way to do the stock lock screen yet unfortunately.

Well,
Icons are from HD2 forum called Dinnik. They come with "no icon" templates.
I grabbed high rez Eclair icons from say CM Nexus ROM and used photoshop to make necessary icons.
Wallpaper is from I900 Galaxy forum wallpaper thread by Hokey. It is a Desire wallpaper reworked by him.
Dock bar is from LauncherPro forum. I just darkened it a bit for our AMOLED.
Font is Monotype Helvetica available in Market, if you use OCLF then you have to apply it via Ryan's OCLF application.
Notification bar:
Pull framework-res.apk from Cognition ROM 2.2.
Use ADB or Root Explorer and replace current apk in /system/framework. Reboot.
You gonna have the stock battery with percentage.
Get Minimalistic Batt-Circle metamorph and extract it in your metamorph folder in your phone internal sdcard. Do not apply it if you just want battery percentage look.
Download from this forum Fightspit OP file that you like A,B,C,D,E whatever.
Extract from it's framework-res.apk folder drawable-hdpi. Which has circle battery images.
Than, go to your phone sdcard/metamorph folder where you extracted Minim Metamorph files. Open framework-res/res folder.
If you like what Minimalistic Metamorph does to your other phone images then just replace only battery stat images. If you just want the battery change then remove all image files from that res folder and copy all new batt_stat images to it.
Once you are ready to apply Min Metamorph choose existing project, choose it xml file and only apply framework option. Do not use any other options such as Email or TWframework. Follow instructions.
Hope this helps. Replacing framework-res.apk via Root Explorer worked for me, phone was vibrating and acting weird till I reboot it. Once it rebooted to Cognition stock battery with percentage I knew I am hald way there because I used to do this to my Cognition 2.1 Rom with Minimalistic Metamorph.
Remember to replace batt_stat images one to one. Min Metamorph has already circle images only B/W which I didn't like. I also didn't like what it did to other graphics on the phone.
greetings all. having used redemption rom for a bit i know the quallity of heyitslou's work. so much in fact i was hesitant to switch to redemptive, kinda like contempt prior to investigation if you will. man was i being a tard. this is the hottest thing going for our dincs opening a whole new theming world to us do to the evo framework. with all the questions being asked about specific compatibility with this rom and evo themes i thought i would start a thread where we could post our experiances theming redemptive.(please excuse my typing im a chef not an office assistant.)
for myself i started with riptide9s color and clear. i love blue and his thread has some pretty cool addons too. the only problem was his theme killed the animations so i switched to pimpshits nameless blue/black theme.it is based off of riptides theme and has full animations. he like lou is contantly working to either solve individual issues or patch in requests. i even use the riptide addons as not all of them kill the animations.
so post your screenies answers, questions, etc that have to do with theming redemptive rom. also please do a thread search before you ask simple questions as the redemptive thread has a huge following and im sure its difficult to respond timely to legitimate questions. remember guys like lou and pimp**** work for free making our dincs rock so if you can please donate.
How to Make EVO themes work on Redemptive rEVOlution
How to make EVO themes work on Redemptive rEVOlution:
If you want to make EVO themes work on Redemptive rEVOlution there's only a few things to do...
If the theme includes framework-res.apk (most do) you will lose all the transitions from the Rom because this is where the files for the transitions exist this isn't a flaw in the Rom it's part of the theme. You can flash a theme with this file and it will work but if you lose your transitions that's why.
MMS: If you flash an EVO theme which includes framework-res.apk you will also lose the ability to send picture messages. I'v included this fix in the themed and un-themed versions of Redemptive rEVOlution version 1.8.
Fix for this download this app: http://bit.ly/cDzln9
Use this to delete the current apns.xml file and install a new one this will fix the MMS problem.
If the theme contains the HTC Music app or widget these will work but they won't recognize your internal storage. This is just something you'll have to live with if you want to have the themed versions or you can port the theme over to the compatible Incredible versions.
If the theme includes the PCSII.apk use 7zip if you're on windows or Ark Manager if you're on linux to delete this out of the theme's zip file. This method won't require you to have to resign the theme's zip file before you flash it. PSCII.apk is what keeps Internal storage from mounting.
These few adjustments will allow you to flash almost any EVO theme without breaking anything else.
and on a side note pimpshits theme has the external mount fix. not sure about the mms issue as i solved that through the fix posted in redemptive thread when both were having that issue.

I liked the Sammy messenger over GoSMS/Handcent/Chomp, so if there's a way to find the APK, it would be much appreciated

mount your file explorer of choice (Root Explorer is recommended but Super Manager is a nice free alternative) as read/write then yes drop in /system/app and you should be golden though it might require a reboot to take effect... Ok, first off, thanks for all the input guys. I really didn't intend for this to turn into a mini-flame thread regarding roms. I just wanted to know how to get back the stock sammy messenger & I was finally able to do so.
Using the Humble 4.22 CRM zip, I deleted the MMS apk that came w/the rom & brought over the apk from the stock roms. Flashed the edited rom & violla! Done & done
Thanks again for everyone who offered input & suggestions. I just couldn't install it via file explorers or just trying to install the apk itself. Just a shot in the dark, but it worked & I learned something.
This is ONLY for the official stock 2.3.4 LG ROM that introduced the new March 2012 baseband!!
I repeat, DO NOT FLASH ON ANYTHING ELSE.
Ok so since my real first porting of a theme (which was a little of a disaster in my opinion...) I've gotten a lot better/smarter.
This port is probably going to be the final. There's honestly nothing wrong with it so far that I can tell.
I might change the drop down menu background to something else maybe. For some reason, even if you use a transparent image... it still isn't transparent for me.
I just kind of grabbed some random image for the background and used it... it was supposed to repeat itself and just kind of scaled... and doesn't look too bad in my opinion.
How to install:
Download the attachment to SD card
Boot into CWM
(Optional) Create a backup in case of boot loop
Flash the zip
Reboot device
There is no need to wipe cache or dalvik or any of that nonsense. I NEVER do, but you can if you're paranoid enough.
Known Issues:
None.
Notes:
I disabled the overscroll glow. I just personally do not like it and it tends to make the device lag when it appears.
I didn't do any .xml changes so no colors should be ugly on certain other windows/frames.
The font in my screenshots will NOT be applied to your phone; that is the font I use and it is not included in the theme.
SOLUTION IF YOUR PHONE BOOT LOOPS
If your phone bootloops it means you dirty flashed 2.3.4 onto your device which means you were on 2.3.3, then you upgraded to 2.3.4 via LG Update tool, and then tried to flash this theme.
So what you have to do (and SHOULD do anyway) is download the rooted 2.3.4 stock ROM (thanks to kwes) and do a fresh install of it (wipe data/factory reset and format /system) then this theme will work 100%.
MD5 Sums of files:

Circular Battery Mod = 26a780245165b7eab30bb47cf356c0a9
CM7 Battery Mod = ad727e7b4180b4a9aaec27d2a5cbd615

Big thanks to kwes and Core Memory... you all should already know why by now.
Enjoy!
Looks awesome, I'll be applying this to my wife's phone later today. You state 2.3.4 but will this cause problems with 2.3.7 base roms?

Pretty good i must say. Is it possible to include ICS like notification toggles in the theme as well?
Thanks

I have serious like 99% feeling this will only work for 2.3.4 cm7 based just install a ics theme from the play store and Theme Chooser.

I don't consider myself a themer, and especially not a developer. You have to ask a real developer to edit stuff to get those things.

Which ROM are you running? This is ONLY for the stock official LG 2.3.4 firmware.
It will not work on any ROM other than the official.
I have also updated the OP to verify and hopefully make it more clear.
This is great

hey buru, you think you can make a flashable zip of a circular battery icon with % and ICS blue colors instead of the current one?

I don't know what could have gone wrong. Nothing is wrong with my .zip. No one else is having problems nor getting any bootloops.
It's possible you got a bad download of the file. Try re-downloading it again and flashing.
Wonder who rated this thread 2 stars :/??
OP has been updated with 2 different batteries: the circular battery by request, and the CM7 battery with the number and little bar on the right side of it.
Hey man i've loved it, can you add the CRT on and off animation, please? I want it cus the stock one when you press the button to turn screen on shows the previous screen that I was before and then go to lock screen(very fast), know what i'm saying? That's annoying, thanks for the theme!!

Thank you and yeah I know what you mean.
I've stated before that I'm not a developer, nor am I a themer; I just simply port over stuff.
I would love to have the screen off animation, and quick toggles as seen in weapon and bionix, but I don't even know the beginning stuff. I'd have to do a lot, lot of reading and experimenting... which I may do one day but work keeps me pretty busy.
By the time I learn anything worthwhile I'm sure a developer would have already made a custom ROM out of this and did all that stuff .
Believe me, I want all that neat stuff too.
Yeeeeah, I've stopped using ics roms because of little things like that, I love when the rom works smooth and fast, it would be awesome if any developer did the crt on and off animation work here, I'm missing the toggles too
