I think it is something with your APN configuration.
Did you try post this question in Revolution HD Rom thread?

If your in the us and using a European rom u will have problems. Idk if that's your case

I had the same issue, I fixed mine with a wipe not sure why mine wouldnt send though, all i could figure out on mine was i used NoSense++ which may have messed it up, i switched to Mike's nosense script and my MMS works, How is your rom setup? Sense NoSense??

Mine wont send MMS either, I however am bone stock still. Have not done the OTA upgrade either.

I did a superwipe and am running ARHD 3.0.3 with sense and sms/mms inbound/outbound work for me on TMOUS.

just so you guys know, if you dont already, you cant be connected to data via wifi if you want to download or send mms messages, you have to be using your mobile network due to security issues.

Correct i use Wifi at home all the time and get MMS, When your phone needs the cell network it will use it.

Following worked for me (in India)
Copy the settings of "mms" APN to "default" then try.

I'm using the sense version of RevHD3.0.3.
Live in the UK.
APN all setup to correct settings.
MMS is enabled on provider (T-Mobile)
Seems to be the whole limit thing with MMS as I sent a low quality photo as soon as I installed the ROM, but failed with higher quality. I tried to use the MMS script to alter the allowed file sizes but still it failed. Did a full wipe, installed RevHD3.0.3, then the script. Just bust

browser not working

Hi everyone,
I've got the desire s a few days now and allready tried various roms. However my mobile internet connection when browsing doesn't seems to work. In app like facebook and whatsapp there is no problem what so ever, but when I try to open google.com it loads for a second and after that nothing happens. All I see is a blank screen and that's it. On wifi there is no problem everything works very well. I also tried different browser but the problem is always the same. Loads for a second and then a blank page.
Hope that anyone has a solution, cause I don't know what to do anymore. And I wouldn't like to send my phone back since that can take weeks before it's send back.
Robit
It would help if you tell us what ROM you are using
Swyped from my Desire S using XDA Premium
Sorry, right now I'm on the latest Europe ruu 2.1 something.
But as I mentioned before it doesn't really matter it happens on custom roms and different versions of the official ruu... The only thing I don't know if it worked straight out of the box.

in which case I'd be rebooted to try a full factory reset, then re test and report back
Swyped from my Desire S using XDA Premium
thanks for your help,
I rebooted to fastboot and there I did a factory reset. But the problem still occurs. That would make sense since flashing other roms didn't help either while I did whipe al the required partitions like cache, delvik cache, system en formatted them all. It seem's a software fault in I guess my radio because apps work fine. It's only the browser.
Robit
Try this...
Settings->Wireless&Networks->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names-->(touch on your provider)-->touch Proxy and erase so that it is blank, and touch Port and make sure it is blank.
Save those changes, and reboot your phone. Has that worked?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
thanks for your input.
But both are allready blank and if the settings are wrong apps like mail, whatsapp and facebook wouldn't work either right? I'll try and report back but I wouldn't make any sense to me.
Robit
edit: edited APN, rebooted but it still doesn't work
Nuts. Was sure it sounded like an APN issue. Have you tried ringing your provider and asking for them to resend the apn? Or you could search for it and just check it matches. I'll do a little more digging and get back to you. (I'm sure i encountered this problem before. Can't for the life of me remember the fix though. Not giving up!

I know it doesn't make sense.. but I checked the settings more then once and they are correct. I'd be very happy if you would know a that fix but we will see.
Thanks for the efforts so far!

OK I'm still thinking it's APN issue. All other instances I have found of browsers only working on WiFi, this has been the cause. Can I have a little more information about your circumstances?
What provider are you with?
Which country are you in?
Which ROMs have you tried, and which are you currently running?
It may be worth you completely deleting your APN and starting a new one from fresh with your provider's confirmed details. Be aware that the APN itself is case-sensitive.
Maybe worth trying: going to dialer and dialing *#*#4636#*#*
Then from the menu that pops up, go to phone info and scroll down to network connection type. I have 'WCDMA preferred' and that has always worked for me.
What is yours set to?
What provider are you with?
- Hi
Which country are you in?
- Netherlands
Which ROMs have you tried, and which are you currently running?
- Right now its the latest RUU 2.10.401.5 with the radio included. I tried the bindroid v2.1 and Beatmod blisssense hybrid latest version. Noticed it at first with the bindroid reflashed it but still occured, so I switched to beatmod still didn't work so went back to stock all together.
It may be worth you completely deleting your APN and starting a new one from fresh with your provider's confirmed details. Be aware that the APN itself is case-sensitive.
- Done that now but still nothing

What is yours set to?
- Same here, so that's no difference.
But question for you, if it would be an APN setting, apps which require an active internet connection wouldn't work either right?
Thanks for your time once again!
From what I have read on the matter so far, it would seem that other apps can use 3G if an APN or data plan issue prevents the browser from working. Sorry if I am grasping at straws here, but has your provider confirmed that your data plan is confirmed on their end?
Other people with similar issues found that "Opera Mini" browser would work on 3G when no others would. Is this also the case for you? I know this is a work-around & not a solution, just trying to rule things out.
Edit: Another thing to try would be to ask a friend (who's 3G internet does work) and borrow their SIM card.
Another edit: Found this after some searching for Hi APN settings. I know I said to remove the Proxy address and port number, but have you tried putting these in:
APN: internet
Username: (niets invullen)
Password: (niets invullen)
Proxy: 10.10.100.20
Poort: 5080
Now that is strange, it does work with the Opera Mini browser. So at least something is working now.
I renewed my contract and got the desire s with it. But the terms of my data plan are changed so it could be that that is the reason that the internet isn't working. I'll call in the morning with customer service to see if that is the reason.
I did now, but still nothing.
So I'll make a phone call and see what they have to say. I usually don't really have much confidence with customer service so that's the reason why I tried my luck here first. But if it is a provider issue than I don't have much choice of course.
Once again thanks!
Cool. That's ruled out hardware fault. There is nothing physically wrong with your phone! It's a software, setting or Sim card issue.
Good luck with your provider. Will be interested to know if you get to the bottom if it. If i find any more clues I'll post them here or pm you.

Well I called today the customer service today and they contacted the tech guys which apparently made some changes to my APN settings, which I can't find btw, but everything is working now. So I'm happy
Thanks for your time, it's appreciated.

MMS Fix?

Ok so i have a friend on sprint that always sends pictures to me via text message. Only about half the time i am able to view them, and the other half of the time it says i must download the picture from the text. If i choose to download them i will click download, but the download will fail anyway and i will not be able to see those mms. I am using the stock messaging thing, and i kinda want to stick with it and not change it to a new app. Is there anything i can do to fix this? Thanks in advance.
Is it just this friend on Sprint?
Do you use Wifi?
It is mostly just my friend that uses sprint. And yes i use wifi, and have tried using it to download the mms. No luck

I've had lots of issues with getting mms while using wifi, even with stock rom, wifi calling active or not... that might be your issue.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Yeah, that's actually what I was going to say.
Wifi and trying to download MMS? No go. But if you're failing to download even on just regular data... Hm.
I believe that's something about the CM7 messaging app, right? Cause I hear wifi downloading works on the stock g2x one. I can't actually back that up because I don't want to lose the CM7 features, haha.
Edit: Like the MMS.apk download from Weapon http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1207125
Although, it says MMS sending, so I dunno.
If you've got the time and patience and this friend wants to send a lot of MMS... I would say just flash a few different roms (2.3.3 stock, 2.3.5+ CMs, or some MIUI) and just see if anything changes. I don't know what that will tell you, but.. it's for science!

[Q] WIND data/mms doesn't work on any 2.3 rom

Hi all,
I'm having a bit of trouble with my milestone xt720. I can't get any gingerbread based ROM to work with 3g/MMS correctly. I've tried fjfalcon's CM7, J.Y.Daddy's CM7, HONO, Ice&Fire... I can't get any connections trying to send MMS. Yet, when I use CM6, Bravo or even MIUIv4, my mms is working.
I've tried applying Wind baseband, tried flashing brightpoint and UK sbfs incase that was the issue to no avail.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
Any WIND xt720 users have anything similar? I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong...
And even when I'm on CM6, the MMS/Data only works if I flick data on and off. Otherwise, my mms will just sit in messaging (with no notification!) with a link to download.
any help is greatly appreciated!
Hey there. First things first: what are your steps to set up the ROM? Do you always flash, factory reset? Or do you flash the SBF?
Did you also set up your APN settings after flashing an SBF? More information would be good
I usually restore to a nandroid of the stock WIND config, then boot into OR, apply updates then factory reset/ clear cache. However, I was afraid that was the problem, so I tried flashing both the UK SBF and Brightpoint SBF with fjfalcon's CM7.2 and neither have worked either.
My APNs remain after I flash, for some reason. I've tried re-entering them too.
you need to set the APN first
else it's not going to work
what is currently shown on your APN list?

So, just to clarify: this issue is more related to you sending/receiving MMS rather than related to 3G data at all?
I only use CM6, and I have the same issues with receiving MMS. The fact that there is a quick workaround (as you have described, turning data on and off) means that I don't really consider this a problem. Sending MMS works fine for me: you can see the quick 3G turning off and on again when it sends successfully.
I don't really have enough experience with CM7 roms to say anything, maybe others could chime in here?

Well, I guess, but in those instances where I can't send MMS, I can't get a data signal either. To be honest, I'd be fine with this on&off mms thing if the camera on CM6.3.6 was more stable... the reason why I want to switch up to CM7 is 'cause the camera was more stable for me.
Could anyone would has gotten CM7 to work on Wind with 3G chime in?
Thanks!
update
I just tried flashing ChronosX and as expected, MMS and data don't work. This was a fresh install from SBF and the APNs was checked to be correct.
Does anyone else experience this?
I just flashed brianlili's CronosX RC2 and I was able to send an MMS no problem. The 3G went off and on like it usually does. Also got one of my friends to send an MMS (he's on Fido), and with the same behavior I got his MMS too.
I also tried this on fjfalcon's CM 7.2.0 (yes, I was on a ROM spree today haha) with the same success. The same 3G off/on behavior occurred as well.
It may help if you redescribe your problem again, in a bit more clarity?
Thanks for replying.
When I'm using a gingerbread ROM, and I try to send an MMS, it'll just keep saying "Service is not available, etc". I can't receive MMS either, I just get the link to download it, which returns the same error. The 3G never turns on at all.
I made sure that I an using correct APNs and that Data is on. I try flicking it on and off too like on CM6 to no avail. Is there something I'm forgetting?
Thanks

MMS broke after 8.1 update

I am running on Cricket and have not had any MMS issues until I got the 8.1 update. I have tried different APN settings and they don't seem to help any. I have also tried to use textra but it will not send or recieve MMS. I have also Reset to Defaults but no changes made there.
Any suggestions on what might be the issue?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah forgot to mention, also on Cricket.
I am glad to hear that it isn't just me that is having the problem. I guess it is some sort of bug in the software.
How do FB messenger and Snapchat send pictures? Because those apps work fine, it's just MMS via text
The issue seems to be only related to Cricket and the 8.1 update. It's clearly a bug that's affecting the APN settings. In some cases a duplicate APN is created automatically on update and the issue is resolved when this is deleted. Some other users have reported that they need to create a duplicate APN after updating and then when they delete the duplicate the problem is solved. Bit of a long shot but maybe it works!

It will be fixed with the november security update. I found this out by one of the tech guys on the googles pixel forum. you might already have it . It was released on 6th. Im still waiting for the update to hit my phone.
Fixed ! Need to delete the second APN. I conference Google an Cricket wireless together and let them fight it out over the phone.
I have two apns both internet:ndo. Do I need to have root or anything? And is it simply just deleting the second entry??
I had the same problem (Cricket and 8.1) and also had the duplicate APN appear. Deleting the 2nd APN didn't work for me, so I deleted both (so I had no APNs), removed and reinserted the sim card, and added a new APN manually following the directions from the Cricket website.
You do not need root to do this.

Curious if anyone has found a fix.
I had an issue the other day where SMS's wouldn't send, with the error 'No sim selected for SMS' or something like that. A reboot sorted it, though. (This is on a DUGL model)

Check your APN settings just to make sure everything is straight. The incorrect APN can screw things up. If you have another Verizon phone, compare the APN setup.

I can't change my apn... I've tried but it looks good
You have to be rooted to change the APN because you have to add 2 lines to the build.prop to allow an app like APN Settings to add a new APN. I have the same problem. My APN was slightly different from my wife's. And still you can't change an existing APN only add a new one and delete the old one. I've tried it all. I'll save you the trouble and tell you that didn't fix the problem. I have talked to Verizon and it shows on their end that I'm receiving the MMS message but it never shows in Android Messages just says it expired. If I push and hold on the it has expired message it shows received info. Did find a forum where people with the first Pixel phone were having the same troubles. Google released an OTA for that phone to fix the bug in Oreo but only in that phone. I can only think that this phone has the exact same bug, just my problem only presented itself a month after upgrading to Oreo. I have noticed if I open Android Messages and leave it running in the background and then use Verizon Messages+ to send myself a picture message (never had a problem with mMS on Messages+) and go to the recently opened apps list and select Android Messages the picture shows up no problem. But as soon as I make Android Messages the default messaging app I no longer get MMS messages.

March is exactly when my MMS stopped working. I went to a Verizon store where I know a guy that works there. I asked him if he could make sure my advanced calling features were activated on there end. He did something and said you're all set and gave me a new SIM. I activated it in my wife's old phone that had working advanced calling and mms messages. It didn't fix my problem, but there is a guy on here that swears by that fixng the problem. I have also seen where people have called Verizon and had them turn off their CDMA provisioning and that helped. I haven't tried that yet. I've basically have said F it, and I downloaded the top 10 messaging apps for 2018. I found one that works that I like called QKSMS. not real flashy but it's a newer app and he is still adding features as he can.

I will definitely try to keep this thread updated. I have spent hours as well to get things working and countless factory resets. I did notice that my apn settings don't have a MMSC which is suppose to be http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms as well as a mms port 80...so maybe the new Sim will correct that cause I can't
But as a recap so far I RUU back from 2.42.617.6 to 2.42.617.1, my next stop is new SIM with all goodies activated and ensure CDMA provision is off

Alright thanks. I've also ruued back to 2.42.617.1 and all the jazz. I am able to add new apns and manually put in the mmsc and port number. That never helped. My dad's Pixel 2 doesn't have a MMSC or port number but my wife's Moto G6 does.

I find that interesting... I'm surprised that mms is such an issues, carrier, os, or even manufacturer cause it's basic phone function since mid to late 200s!?
I so frustrated

What really blows my mind is why some apps work and some don't. I was digging around the database for message storage. I noticed when the message went through I would get one field that said something like vdn.wap.mms. if the message was never received it would show like http://random IP address/ servlets/MMS and at the very end would be msg_id=? It would also show in the pending field of the database.
