Hello all!
I am not sure what went wrong with my phone, but it is S-OFF Rooted, CWM'd. No matter what lockscreen I choose, where you would choose which shortcuts to pull to ring and where it opens up that particular shortcut.....the phone no longer is avail for me to choose. Anyone know what went wrong or have suggestions? Thank you!!
Reboot into CWM and wipe cache partition and dalvik cache and see if it works.
It happened with the 2.3.4 update -- previously discussed here:

I used the JFUpdater and downloaded the JF1.5 [cupcake] build.
It then told me to apply it, which I did.
It went through the process of rebooting and then applying the update. From there, it reboots and it just HANGS on the "Tmobile G1" screen. It can't go anywhere from there. I've left it sitting for a good 10 minutes.
any ideas?
all help appreciated.

It should still be in your SD card. Go into recovery mode and perform a wipe, then update. (alt-w, then alt-s)
edit: wow, you busted a ninja edit on me haha. Good to hear that you got it working, enjoy the new firmware!
Haha - my bad bro.
Lol but thanks a lot for the help.
I tried doing it before (few days back), and didn't work. I guess it was your magical "touch" that did it ^_^
Lovin' the speed improvement on this, by the way.
Hello all, Haven't had time to post anything but got a few questions, I got an update the other day and I think it was a camera update? I'm not sure. Anyway I'm rooted(Not unlocked). I tried to install it and it brought me to an Android guy with his chest open. I have played with an LCD Density App. But I set it back to stock. Anyone know the problem? I just want to be able to be able to accept and download jelly-bean.
Thanks
read through the many ota threads from last week and you should find everything you need.

Just get back to stock and wait for the JB update. You will find the guide for going back to stock in the General forum. Also if you plan to unlock i would recommend you to do it and use the NvFlash tool before you update to .30 firmware.

Can you tell me how to change the build.prop back to default? I think that would do the trick
How about this...
go to settings
backup and reset
factory data reset
make sure there is nothing on internal storage that you want to keep before resetting.

That will keep my root correct?
No, everything is lost and set back to stock.
You can root again though.
Ok, well today I factory reset, rooted, and then attempted to due the update. It started updating but then it went straight to an android with open heart. Is it maybe because i only had 15% battery? Anyway to pull the update back in?
Hi!
I am new to xda. I hope that someone will find time and answer me. I have rooted my nexus s (4.1.2) using this metode from the site of nexusshacks. At first everything seemed to go OK. But no I have superuser installed on my phone and when i update it it says that my phone is not rooted. But i still managed to install custom rom (strawberry) and it works. But every thing that needs root premision i cant use. Not titanium backup nothing. Can somebody help me. At tutorial it's said that i need to do flashing twice and it will be ok but it is not. And now i am afraid to anything. I would like to unroot phone instal stock android (not any rom) and than do it again.
Pleas help me!

You don't need to re-install stock. You probably don't have the binary installed properly and that's why it's giving you trouble.
Simply flash either SuperSU and SuperUser and that should be fine.
You can get either one from here:

I wouldn't know, it would be better for you to ask in the Strawberry thread.
A lot of problems can be fixed simply by reflashing either the rom or the kernel. You could try reflashing Strawberry without wiping anything and also after that fixing permissions. Good luck.
HI,
I found this post with the files to remove the spider from the pulldown, however after applying it nothing happened. I wasn't sure if I did something wrong or not. I went to recovery wiped cache/dalvik then applied the zip. Nothing.

Hey guys. I really messed up. I was running 7.1 from launch, and have had the systemless root basically since the beginning. I attempted to mount /system as /r/rw (for the stupidest reason) and my phone booted into a "no command" bootloop. Is there any hope for me? I can access recovery (I think). I can get into adb and fastboot and get the device recognized by the computer.
I will donate, buy coffee, anything for some love. Thank you so much for your time!

Well if you have an unlocked bootloader you can simple flash the stock images.

Thank you so much for the reply. I think I could even do a factory reset from recovery, but I'm not sure. I'm pretty new at this. I was really hoping there may be a way I could backup my data first, or even fix the issue, as I'm pretty sure I know what happened. I think my permissions are set wrong, but I could be entirely wrong. I found this guide that sounds like my issue, but it is for a different device. I've tried adapting it to the best of my ability, but I can't get the phone in ADB mode from recovery. http://www.gizbeat.com/2103/how-to-change-file-permissions-through-adb/
Wouldn't hurt to try knowing you can also just flash stock images.

Can you point me in the direction of someone who may be able to help me do just that? I've tried just about all I can think to do. I really am new at this and feel I am in over my head. I really appreciate any and all help and would gladly donate to this site or any individual user who is able to help me solve my problems (I hope it isn't against your rules to say things like that).
Thanks again.
This site straight from Google has all the files and instructions. https://developers.google.com/android/images
Follow directions but don't lock bootloader.

Sorry, I was unclear, that was my fault. I believe I know how to flash stock images. That is something I have done since the OG Droid. I was asking if you may know anyone who may be able to help me attempt to backup my data, reset my permissions, or even get the phone into ADB mode before I resort to losing everything. Again, apologies for being unclear.
No worries. I would just look online and possibly post another thread here or just wait for replies.
Flash the stock image but remove the -w from the script to keep from losing data. Search around here for instructions. It's been described a zillion times.

I suppose one could think of it that way but it really isn't. Everything other than data will be wiped and flashed. It'll all be new with the exception of your data partition. Removing the w allows you to keep all your apps and their settings in tact. The rest will all be new though. It can't hurt to try it. If it doesn't fix your problem (which it should) you can always run it again and wipe data along with everything else.

Yes. But in reality it is not much different than taking an OTA. That never wipes data. I only clean flash if I am having issues after a dirty flash and I can't remember the last time that happened.
