hi im not sure how closely related a htc hermes is to a hd mini but i found this thread, hope it helps
http://srimeenakshimobiles.com/forums/hermes/11306-htc-hermes-jtag-pins.html

BATFINK74, I think BMW is different than Mercedes
thefuse6509, thanks, yes it is photon m.b but there no pins

Tried locating (visualy) for possible pins but it is hard to find. I found one good document about how to probe pins http://www.jtagbox.com/downloads/manuals/JTAG_Signals_Probing.pdf

hi,do you find jtag pins for hd mini?
if you find jtag pins than can you nand boot?!!

No, but currently I got ~working nand driver (photon_nand.c) ... will try with mtd_utils to write to nand again. Also I implemented one code to kernel (using spl base) and I can write to device memory but after restarting phone all go back to previous state, it mean writing is only temporaly becouse it is not real adress (it is "after boot temp addr")! But I dumped whole nand, when opened nand in hex I see where is real "on chip" offset to spl, cid...etc addresses, so I will try again "but with mtd utils from photon Debian linux" to write to real address of the spl (to change rsa modulus inside). If I change rsa modulus inside spl we will be able signing own image and uploading to phone using gold card method but will not be able uploading original htc image!

ok munjeni,i'm hope to you successful.
ever time you can nand boot, please uploade in xda while i use it too
thanks for your efforts

Thanks Munjeni, but could you please explain more what this mean?
is it means we can't change htc WM roms, or it just the original Rom will be erased? if it this.. it's simple agian & we can go back to previous using another htc wm roms.

something about jtag pins: (not sure): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=277374&page=12
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756988&page=20

No, it is not similar to htc hd mini!

HTC HD Mini Pins (not sure about JTAG, but may have some info)
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f634/htc-hd-mini-pin-picture-1214699/
Just a question: should it only be htc mini JTAG picture or similar other phone can be as aria & gratia jtag pictures? or what? and should it have info specs or just picture enough?

I don't know what is inside aria but motherboard must be same like in pictures from your links! But there no pins, only I see pictures for photon inside. I need scheme or precisely location to jtag pins, understand?

Well, I tried Search every where! I could not find any JTAG Picture for htc mini!
And for other phone, HTC WildFire JTAG: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906991
And the other phone as like's our photon, HTC Aria JTAGs (I see it's fully about it): http://www.dave.eu/files/aria/aria-hm.pdf
nor another things.
I think we should open new thread that who have a broken or bulk htc mini and tell as the info. Thankfully Of Course

yes, you are right: HTC Aria is quite similar to HTC HD Mini...
but the device described in PDF is "[...] a General Purpose microprocessor CPU board powered by the Freescale MPC512x CPU family. [...] ARIA offers high flexibility, integrating a powerful FPGA on board which allows customers to extend the range of application adding IP cores and other customized interfaces.".
Simply another kind of electronic toy

oh, maybe I'm wrong...
why should this name Aria?? aghaghghe I thought it was HTC Aria!
anyway I think as I said before.. We must open new thread in General or someway, and to tell who have broken or unneeded htc HD mini, and show us the things we need.. Thankfully Of Course again

Just got the S730

I just bought the HTC S730 today
Where is the s730 forum here?
I have tried like a crazy person to get the 'built-in' gps to work, but i cant even find one satellite :-( Perhaps they have disabled it in the Rom...
Cant wait to hear from other users who have bought the final version of this phone and if they can get the gps to work..
Could you upload your HTC Home screen? I think a lot of users (including me ) are waiting here for this. Would you be so kind please?

As soon as I have time we will research it. If the hardware is really built in we will get it going some time (it *will* take time tho)
Got my S730 a few days ago. Loving it so far, except...
Couldn't find any satellites with Google Maps so the GPS does indeed appear to be disabled in the final ROM. I hope someone finds a "fix" for this soon. ;-)
Also, I can't get BlackBerry Connect 4.0.0.76 or 4.0.0.84 to connect RIM. My subscription is enabled (works fine on my BB Pearl) but I can't get a PIN on the S730. If anyone has managed to get this working, I'd love some help.
Cheers

Go to Application Data and the best is you copy the whole Home-Folder and upload it.

Can someone btw tell me how i can get more appointments to show in the HTC Home Screen?
Thank you very much! But not working on Vox, there are some missing files in system and plugin support.. I think the clsid is different from the Vox's one and it will be more difficult to make it work.. It only shows appointments I will do some researches
And your question - I tried to find it inside of xml, but not there.. HTC made a configurator to modify HTC home on PPC, so maybe for smartphones it also will appear.. I guess
GPS seems to be in HTC S730
I got my S730 today. Have tried with Efficasoft GPS Utilities for Smartphone v2.0 and Chartcross GPS Test Version 1.04. Both programs finds 0-1 satelliets, not enough for positioning, but there seems to be a GPS. But whay can't it identify enough of satellites?

*If* the hardware is indeed enabled, you might want to extract drivers from a Kaiser rom. Whether the hardware is indeed present and enabled is hard to determine from the unclear statements in this thread...

HTC TYTN II ----or----- HTC s730
Can someone please help me decide between the HTC Tytn II OR the HTC S730? I am a heavy texter, sometimes check email, and want a fast phone. I'm worried that the HTC s730's keyboard is not comfortable -- can someone that uses it give me a heads up on how comfortable/good it is? Is the WM Smartphone's UI annoying? - i've been using pocket pc for a long time & I just want to know if its difficult to switch to a standard smartphone like the HTC s730? Thanks in advance for your feedback & comments - they are all much appreciated
Hmmm i havent tried yhe Tytn so i cant compare the two phones. But i had a Touch before i bought my S730 and i must that it was a step in the right direction text-typing-wise... The s730 is not as good to type on as an Nokia Communicator (imo the best phone for typing), but it's pretty good. And its great to have two options for typing : numeric with T9 and the qwerty inside...
About the smartphone ui....Grrrrrr it is a little bit annoying.. I hate that the settings are so locked. You have far few options in the settings compared to the PPC interface. But then on the other hand there are some features that works better on the smartphone than on the PDA.
All in all i am a very happy little piggy with my S730. I would not trade it for any other phone on the market.

I am also pretty happy with the S730... i used to have a vox and a wizard i must say I keep going to press the screen on the s730 because i was used to ppc but im sure it wont take long for me to get used to it..
one thing battery for me at least seems to be an issue.. fully charged at 7am this morning I had 1 bar left by 11am... Martin is your battery life the same?
the keyboard on the s730 is excellent very good i am already beginning to become a gun on it.. as for the kaiser my friend has one they are way too big for me i guess you need to ask yourself do you want a phone with pda features or a pda with phone features?
Brisbane_guy : I have not expirenced such lousy battery time as you describe. My battery last for about 2 days and i dont turn it off at night. So about 48 hours. But i have disabled BT and WIFI most of the time...
Many thanks Martin & Brisbane for your feedback I'm going to buy the s730 based on your positive feedback

You really should consider the Asus P750. It's only 130g, has 3g, gps (sirf3), wlan, bt2.0, touchscreen, WM6 Prof, 520MHz ARM, 256MB flash and 64MB ram.
On Modaco someone called it the kaiser killer.

Dismantling HTC Touch Pro Instructions??

Hi,
Anyone got instructions on how to dismantle/take apart the HTC Touch Pro??? Service Guides/replacing out LCD etc will do!

Now I really need the service manual ASAP so I can take out the cameras like I did for my Tytn II otherwise I can't bring it to work! I don't dare to open it without the service manual or without some sort of dismantling guide for it..
There must be someone out there that can get there hands on it... Anyone??? Please....??

Thanks marios, I've already got the Diamond Service Manual and I noticed the positioning of the sim card and screws are different so it wasn't useful.
If I don't get the service manual by this Friday, I will attempt opening my HTC Touch pro without it. (Not the best outcome but I can't resist myself from using my new toy daily! ;-))
Thanks anyway!

Well, just an update, I took apart my HTC Touch Pro today and removed both cameras. It was slightly easier than doing the same on my HTC Tytn II previously.
I didn't encounter any tricky parts at all. I think HTC are manufacturing the phones in a really mass production factor so it makes it easier to produce.
If you want some photos of the opening up.. then reply here and I will post them here.
Glad to hear that makuk.

My workplace does not allow any cameras on the premises, including camera phones. Max one warning is given and phone/camera can be confiscated for good + criminal record if you do naughty things with the camera!
Disabling/covering up/removing lens doesn't count. Since the cameras have now been removed, they can't do me for bringing my HTC Touch Pro phone into the premises as there is no physical camera(s) inside my phone.
You can't find a cool phone nowadays without cameras!

I occasionally visit facilities that do not allow camera phones. When I ordered my HTC Fuze from AT&T Premier I had to choose between "with camera" and "without camera." I ultimately decided that "without camera" would kill the ebay value if I didn't like the phone and needed to sell it. But I was happy to see AT&T offer the phone without camera because that has been a selling point for some BlackBerry devices.

I wrote the 128Mb RAM procedure, there is no mention of a 51K resistor on pin 3.
If a BGA has not been put down properly it will only read 64Mb, did you re-ball the BA chips? I have found that if the Uni can't see 128Mb then the chips have not been installed right.

i found it from achinese site where they mention to connect the pin 3 with a 51k resistor... anyway in all cases i eliminate this pin
and after i installed tomal's 8.7 rom but, then i tried to set pagepool to zero, but the device was unable to start after reset, so i hard reset it and still under
start>setting>sysytem>device information>hardware RAM: 128Mb
under:
Start>Settings>System>Memory
storage program
total: 43.50 total: 48.34
inuse: 2.19 in use: 23.61
free: 41.31 free: 24.73
so still not using effectively all 128RAM just 64Mb
but wondering if the bga ram isn't installed right would the device under hardware tab read 128 RAM....
best regard!!!!
moiisse
moiisse,
If you can see 128Mb under: start>setting>sysytem>device information>hardware then you RAM is installed and should be working.
If it is working then under: Start>Settings>System>Memory Program you should see 112Mb or there abouts.
So it sounds like you have a bad solder connection on one or more of the data lines. Did you re-ball the chips after you got them off the BA? If not this will be the problem. The only way to check the solder connections is to X-ray them. To replace the BGA RAM chips is a specialist job and needs the right equipment to do it right. I know becuase it teach poeple to do this sort of work. I could sort out the problem but I'm based in the UK, may be expensive to ship.
Anyway Have a look at my procedure on how it should be done, not the use hot air and hope for the best method I have seen many times before.

No, it's not depending on PP. You'll still see the RAM nearly 112MB if the chips installation are perfect. I think somethink was wrong.
I prefer you should explain the whole precess that you have followed and also post some of the close snapshots from MB. Then some of the experienced users may verify about what was wrong...

Thank you I link every question to this anwsers....
In my experience, the network or manufacturer has to set up a licence with bbconnect to allow the service. You cannot just buy a copy or use an old copy to get it to work. The rhodium has bbconnect working this is probably due to it being aimed at business where as the topaz is aimed at the casual user who won't need it.
I hope this helps.
v1zca1no,
Did you get BBC working with your Diamond2. I have tried contacting HTC and got rather useless answers....

Camera Flash For Our Fit !

I was searching the internet, for a while to find out the way to somehow add a external flash to our fit, and ended up to a post, which was about a device called "iFlash". It is a external hardware device for iPhone users only which adds a extra flash to there device.
So I was wondering, can this be made to work on on a android phone, or are there any alternatives !!
I recon that you could get an old microusb lead, chomp and strip the outer insulation. Use a multimeter to find which is power (I think the positive is red and negative is white on most USB cables). Wire up the positive connection of a LED to the negative of the USB lead, then negative to positive. Plug in and it should work!

nice info. want to know more about this.
if this works for my device then i am surely getting it.
Aspire [lomash] where are you we need your expert view about this.
@sid
you could try PhonePhlash.
I don't know whether it's available in India or not, but the pics shown do look good...
@Nathan
I don't think Fit's microUSB port has any power output.
So we need to use an external power supply like Lithium Button Cells or AA Batteries
(but they would look plain ugly)
@amandeep
i'm no expert lol... i just try my best to find the answers to your problems...
