Get rooted then, simples. As gavriel, said, why would you not, and now with the one click method there's no reason not to. I can see how it seems a bit daunting, but once you've done it you'll wonder why you hadn't before.

+1! I've lost count at just how many times in the first few weeks I had to reflash mine as I was new to Android and just kept screwing stuff up, and I learned to root the old way which is a tad more complex than the one click method, but figured it out in no time.
ADB also baffled me at first but again, I soon picked it up, you just need to do some reading of the forums and make the mistakes yourself. I've seen the Xperia referred to as "unbrickable", although I couldn't tell you just how true that is
ok.. so here's my non-rooted phone pics..
ADW launcher -

Meridian Music Player widget

I am at the same question Antonyvijai.
How can I put this on my phone (AT&T 2.2 KB1 Froyo + Root + Supercurio's KB1 + Voodoo + CWM Recovery)
If I need to deodex, a link to a how to would be awesome!
Question 2, does flashing this mod remove any themeing I have installed?

Absolutely. Having a guide will help us a lot. Last thing we need is an hard bricked captivate

Ok, I googled the phrase "deodex android".
It looks like the 3rd result is a HOW-TO (it is titled that anyway). So I am off to read this! I'll let you know what happens later.
I still need to know if flashing this mod will wipeout my matted blue theme!
Thanks!
UPDATE:
I read the link. I am going to try this, however, I do not have the time right now (have a "real" job I am late for already!) If anyone tries this, post here to let us know the result!

That I know / understand now! So, won't have that question anymore. In the adb shell command I see it is referring to ext3. I flashed voodoo lagfix injected kernel and somewhere I read it changes it to ext4 or something like that ..is it something I need to watch at least or it doesn't matter too! Also, do you know any other method to deodex? Like through a root app...

Netarchy's 1.3.0.X+ above kernels have it. And yes it will affect your experience with CM7..... affecting in a positively way. It's so much better than the stock kernel.
It has support for Voodoo Color, Voodoo Color, BLN and a lot of other goodies.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936219
NOTE: When you flash a newer version of CM7 afterwards. You'll have to flash the kernel after flashing CM7 as well because flashing CM7 replaces your kernel with the stock kernel.

Also recommended and not mentioned is the "No LED" app from the market... works by highlighting one or two pixils of the screen...

Should be able to - it's compatible with Infused v2 and Hellraiser ROMs, and I'm fairly certain that Mikey "pre-integrated" Hellraiser for us to create this ROM.
Worst case if it doesn't work, you can heimdall/odin the kernel from Mikey's zip.
Is it possible to get a mirror? I have no luck with File Sonic
