It looks like the 3rd result is a HOW-TO (it is titled that anyway). So I am off to read this! I'll let you know what happens later.
I still need to know if flashing this mod will wipeout my matted blue theme!

it doesnt matter if its froyo or eclair, or what rom you are on....heck it almost doesnt matter what PHONE you are on. deodexing is the same process across the board

That I know / understand now! So, won't have that question anymore. In the adb shell command I see it is referring to ext3. I flashed voodoo lagfix injected kernel and somewhere I read it changes it to ext4 or something like that ..is it something I need to watch at least or it doesn't matter too! Also, do you know any other method to deodex? Like through a root app...

why go through all the trouble? just flash a custom rom like cognition....its just like stock with some mods like power button menu and lockscreens....

UM, YEAH, DI17 is Froyo, you can flash it with a Froyo ROM 2.2...

As far as I know, there was really only one true CWM -flashable modem available, and I thought that was EC05 because it came with an official release. I think all the other 'leaked' modems have to be Odin'd, but I'm not 100% on that one.
I was able to see a a bunch of files listed yesterday. Now all I'm getting when selecting the categories is "Empty Directory" ("Noting available at this time").
Where the files removed or is this an issue with my app/connection?

only OTA releases have CWM flashable modems... which means EB13 and EC05, and DI18, and i think 2 more before that... but, the arent modem flashes they upgrades, which means from a specific modem to a specific modem...

Ok. Now I see items on the list again. But, I didn't see anything when I tried this morning up until about 5 minutes ago. Same thing happened yesterday (and the day before?).
"Install Theme" had no items listed. Neither did any other categories. Anyhow, it seems to be ok now, but just wondering if there are any issues with my app or connection that may be causing this.

If it's being updated, then it's being updated all the time. 9/10 times that I check for roms, kernels, modems etc etc etc it tells me nothing could be found. Just tried again, 15 seconds after I got an empty report and I see things.

There is NOTHING you can do right now to get CM7. It doesn't exist for this phone regardless of what version you are currently on. It's just not there.

Why down Rom manger work for this phone...it even had my phone in its list...i even paid foe the premium one...wtf...?...and I've been in Google for hours reading...lol...is there any way i can download a Rom on my sd card...and flash it like that...that's how Rom manager does it...and what Rom can i use...?...do you need all my phone info...???

Step one, search for the gb starter pack, fbis251 was the op in that thread. follow it to the t.
Then, use odin to flash bhundvens kj6 kernel with voodoo and cwm
Now read around and learn to flash via cwm.
Lastly Install valhalla final either regular or black version (i like black imo)
Please, before you continue, and no I'm not discrediting you, i know this has been said before and i have no way to know if you have or not, but read all the stickies in our forums here, they really are helpful

And just because a phone it's listed as compatible, it don't mean that it's gonna work... I believe there is some work to get cm on this phone since only in November did Samsung release the source.

Hi Jules,
In order to use voodoo lagfix, you'll need to install one of the kernels that have that ability. I personally suggest using bhndven's
[KERNEL][UVKJ6][BETA3] Subtly Modified Stock with CWM5 + Voodoo Lagfix [12/19/2011]. Just follow the install instructions on his page. It's a great kernel, has the latest CWM (which fixes an issue with GB ROMs not being able to mount/unmount the /system partiton), root, and voodoo lagfix in it.
Once you've installed it, reboot into CWM recovery (either use an app like quick boot, or you have to power down the phone, hold down the volume up, volume down, & power keys, then release the power key after the "Galaxy S" screen gets a bit brighter), go to the voodoo menu, and ensure "voodoo lagfix" is enabled and "/system lagfix" is enabled.
As for the debloater (check my signature for the link), literally, go read FB's page about it. It takes you to a site, you select what you want to remove, it creates a .zip file you download, put it on your sdcard, then flash it from within CWM.

The link for bhundven's kernel installs CWM as part of the kernel. If you follow the instructions on his page you'll be fine. He writes good stuff
The only other way I know to install it on Gingerbread is to install one of drhonk's kernels in the dev section. Using the one I mentioned is easier & is the current version of CWM.

I finally got around to adding a few guides in there. vgcraze has been making it look awesome so I finally felt inspired to it. Any time anyone asks a basic question we can link them to the wiki from now on.
Good point, bro. I'm going to contribute what I can as well. Probably won't have a decent time until tomorrow though. This community has helped me a lot so I try to pay back as much as I can.

I'm glad. If you're ever wondering about wiki syntax just google it. I was wondering how to make thumbnails so I just googled "wiki syntax thumbnails" and got what I wanted . It's easier than you'd think.
