I used the one click root for my Nexus S 4G. Is there a way to remove the lock icon on the bootloader screen? (Google Logo)

No, bootloader locked = no lock on screen but no using custom roms.
It's on the screen for like 3 seconds is it really that big of a deal?

This is entirely inaccurate. Locking the boot loader does *not* remove a custom recovery, does *not* remove root access and does *not* prevent loading custom roms.
It will prevent flashing a new recovery using fastboot if the custom recovery is overwritten at any point. However, as long as you still have root access you can use the flash_image binary and flash whatever recovery you would like directly from the device.
There is also nothing preventing you from installing a custom rom if a custom recovery is in place.

I suppose I worded poorly, but thats basically what I meant... thats for the clarification

Get rid of lock on splash screen?

Just curious if anyone knows a way to get rid of the unlocked lock on the Google splash screen with a phone with an unlocked bootloader?
Not trying to do anything devious, I just think it's kinda ugly.
relock the boot loader.

I sort of assumed that would do the trick. But won't that wipe my device and make flashing impossible?

No and no. Relocking does not wipe, only unlocking. Your custom recovery will stay installed, and as long as you have root you can even install a new recovery using flash_image if it is somehow overwritten.

[Q] Nexus S 4G Bootloader Lock

My question is, if you relock the bootloader on ns4g after unlocking and rooting, will you loose the root or the ability to flash any custom roms or mods?

No. You can still flash anything via custom recovery.
You will, however, lose the ability to flash a custom recovery if it is overwritten via fastboot. If you have root access you can still use the flash_image binary from the device or flash via Rom Manager. If you lose root and recovery though you will have to unlock again.

This is a dev phone, so you can lock and unlock the bootloader as you please. You will not be able to switch the recovery with it locked.

Yes you can - via a custom recovery you can flash whatever you want.
Pre 2.3.3 you could fastboot boot a custom recovery and flash whatever you wanted without even touching the stock recovery. That was never the intended functionality though and 2.3.3 took that ability away again (so that you now have to initially unlock in order to flash a custom recovery).
Thanks
Thank you Rem3Dy & krohnjw, I understand now. And thanks for the tip about flashing through rom manager krohnjw, its very usefull and easier instead of flashing manually.

erasing before flashing seems to help, I just use fastboot though as it's easy and doesn't have any issues. I don't recommend locking the bootloader if you plan on flashing, but it is possible.

I agree with you krohnjw as sometimes when you don't do a full wipe the new flashed rom gives you problems, specially with FC's, but I've never had a problem when flashing after doing a full wipe.

CM10 Question

What could happen if I didn't unlock my bootloader and I install a CM10 non-kexec?

You would be in a boot loop. This is because CM10 requires a custom kernel, and if you didn't have kexec you'd have no kernel to use to boot it up.

its that fixable? because I already unlock my bootloader with EZ-unlock app but I'm not sure 100% if I unlock it
Thanks

Even with the bootloader unlocked, you can still use kexec if you want. As far as checking if the bootloader is unlocked, when you reboot the phone there should no longer be a pad lock of any kind.
I was thinking to flash a cm10 no-kexec with twrp2.2 recovery it's a good idea?

[Q] How can I tell if my Bootloader is unlocked?

I am rooted and unlocked, using adam's EZ Unlock 1.2 tool and running AOKP 4. I am about to flash a rooted "stock" ROM and am not sure if my bootloader will be unlocked after that flash, is their a way to tell if your bootloader is locked or not?
Thx
When our phones boot up there's two splash screens before the boot animation. The first one just says 'Samsung' and the second one says 'Samsung Galaxy SIII' and the way to tell easily if your bootloader is unlocked is if that first one that just says samsung flashes by in .5/1 second. If it doesn't and stays on the screen for 2-4 seconds then it's not unlocked.
If you're flashing it through a custom recovery, then it shouldn't lock your bootloader as it should only be writing to the system partition.

lol I didn't even catch that. I literally just saw the "how do you tell" part.

Don't hate me, but with the Unlocking...

I have unlocked and rooted my phone. I am proud of the fact that it is mine. I know to most people it isn't an issue, and it isn't THAT big of a deal, but i would like it to go away anyway...
Is there a way to hide the Lock Icon you get after unlocking the bootloader in the Boot sequence?

I'd prefer to recommend bootlocker. Once you have root access, you can lock / unlock /reset tamper flag at will without connecting to a pc.

You sure its not Boot"UN"locker? I've never heard of an app that did this so, out of curiosity, I searched for "bootlocker" and found "bootunlocker" instead.

Is relocking it going to cause an issue if I decide to install a rom in the future? Or use Wugfresh to lock and unroot? Or will it be seamless?

You can still flash roms via recovery with a locked bootloader. You just need to unlock the bootloader again to update your recovery.
DON'T EVER USE TOOLKITS

Just to update recovery I will need to relock the bootloader?
And out of curiosity, why not use Toolkits? If its to help me gain experience, I usually have no problem using adb, but I'm at work and figured it was easier. That, and I am lazy

No. You'd need to unlock the bootloader to update recovery.
Its easy enough without toolkits. Being lazy and taking shortcuts is dangerous.
adb isn't really related to anything we're discussing here
