[Q] How can I tell if my Bootloader is unlocked? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I am rooted and unlocked, using adam's EZ Unlock 1.2 tool and running AOKP 4. I am about to flash a rooted "stock" ROM and am not sure if my bootloader will be unlocked after that flash, is their a way to tell if your bootloader is locked or not?
Thx

When our phones boot up there's two splash screens before the boot animation. The first one just says 'Samsung' and the second one says 'Samsung Galaxy SIII' and the way to tell easily if your bootloader is unlocked is if that first one that just says samsung flashes by in .5/1 second. If it doesn't and stays on the screen for 2-4 seconds then it's not unlocked.

If you're flashing it through a custom recovery, then it shouldn't lock your bootloader as it should only be writing to the system partition.

Sounds like it's not unlocked if you still have the custom boot screen. What method did you use to unlock?
You are not unlocked. When your bootloader is unlocked that Samsung screen just flies by. No padlock no waiting.

Thanks! i used a windows batch file to do the unlock...guess ill give it another go.
worked thanks!
My SGiii now does this when booting. I have root. I used the devFS root method. I to my knowledge I have not flashed the boot loader. Is this what people were talking about by adding one to there flash counter? If so I might as well flash cwm.
Is my warranty void now?

Has nothing to do with flash counter. It shows that software is modified and is caused by root. Unlocking the bootloader will get rid of lock. Warranty is void only if you don't revert to stock before return.

Bootloader on 4.3

Hi when I rooted and tried to flash twrp I soft bricked my phone and when I Odin back to stock a flashed safestrap I rebooted and on the boot screen it showed an unlocked lock with the word custom below it. So doesn't that mean that my bootloader is unlocked?

It doesn't, that custom padlock is known to show up on completely stock firmware. It's not really an indicator of much of anything.

Can't root

Hello xda
Title says it all. I have unlocked my bootloader without a problem, I have tried every single way to root the moto G and have had no luck now.
I've tried the super boot methods 1 & 2
#1 the .bat file works and says its complete but upon a reboot of the phone super su is no were to be seen and have no root access. Tried about 7-8 times.
Method 2 apparently works correctly and gives me the hab recovery error but when I click the recovery option in bootloader to progress it just boots me out and boots up the phone or takes me into the recovery screen saying no commands.
I'm running 4.4.2 with unlocked bootloader what other options are available? Cheers

Slight problem after finally gaining root.
I can't get any custom ROM to boot up? They just hang at the boot logos. Could someone please help. Thankyou

Likely need to do some wiping... What partitions did you wipe when you installed the ROM?
Try wiping cache and dalvik should fix it

How to Know before flashing custom recovery

Hello I have a chinese opo with cm11s installed.Whenever I run bootloader unlock it says time taken 0.00 sec
okay. Now Im not sure maybe the seller has unlocked the boot loader. Is there a way to know before flashing custom recovery? Thanks. Will flashing custom recovery on locked bootloader will brick my device?
Sent from my One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No it will not brick your phone. If your phone's bootloader is locked, it will simply not let you flash a custom recovery. If its unlocked, then it'll flash the custom recovery.
Ensure that update CM recovery in developer options is disabled (to enable the menu, tap build # 10 times in about phone and then go back into developer options)
Thanks it worked,I was right it was already unlocked

How to unlock the bootloader of a Verizon Galaxy S3 (i535) running 4.4.2

Hey everyone,
So, I have a verizon Galaxy s3 4g (i535) and I have been searching for days now for a way to unlock my bootloader so that I can flash a recovery and then flash some new ROMS. I tried flashing a recovery through odin but it failed, I tried flashing it through the apps available in appstore like TWRP Manager, ROM Manager, Flashify even used the terminal emulator and then entered the code to flash the recovery image I had in my sd card etc but everytime I use these tools it says that the recovery has been flashed and then when I reboot to recovery, I get the screen which says that a wrong version of android was flashed and that I should contact verizon and that screen keeps on coming even when i restart the phone, until I get my phone into download mode and then restart it. I have read alot of threads but couldn't find any at all. So is there any way to unlock my bootloader or to flash a recovery and then flash ROMS without unlocking the bootloader?
Would be really thankful if anyone could help.

When the bootloader is locked, especially on this specific phone the SCH-I535 your stuck with it and there is no way to unlock the bootloader. You can't run custom roms or a custom recovery either
You can however install safestrap as a recovery and there are a few bootloader locked roms you can also install

You do realize this photo proves nothing, right? This post could just as easily come from someone with an unlocked bootloader who subsequently flashed AOKP and also the VRUDNE1 modem. I'm using SlimKat with the same modem, doesn't mean my bootloader was locked with the VRUDNE1 4.4.2 update.

Amen to that man, people don't seem to get that the bootloader cannot be unlocked once the OTA is taken. I grow seriously tired of repeating myself a million times

So what's the deal then? You know there's a $1,400+ reward for unlocking it if you're serious. I'll gladly give you props for being first if you're right.
