What is killing my battery? - HTC Sensation

Ive got my sensation 4G 2 days ago. Here are 2 shots showing the battery usage during this period (didn't get the chance to root the phone yet so i had to use my camera for the shots).
I only have 1 account set for auto sync (no other account to be synchronized).
I went to bed last night at 2 and woke up at 10. During this 8 hours, the battery went from 63 to 30, which means roughly 4% per hour for just idling i suppose!
Do you guys have any idea why this is happening?!
Thanks a lot!

It's the autosync that is killing the battery behind the scene. Turn it off and make sure that data always on is turned off ad well as background data.

thanks but like i said i only have one email account set up for auto sync which checks pretty frequently but if i remove this one then whats the point of having a smartphone....

You install any aps? That's WAY too much awake time.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk

It's HTC Hub...make sure it's disabled.

Something is not right, your phone is awake while screen off. Check all sync settings. Also i would advice to drain battery completely and after charge it while phone is off. Do couple cycles like this.It will improve battery life.
On my phone i have Exchange account syncing every 15 min, GMail always on, yahoo always on, weather every 3 hr. Rest accounts sync set to manual. Battery on my phone last easily 18 hr +. Today 15hr and i am still have 50% battery remaining. Very happy with battery life on Sensation.

Usually the HTC stuff is the main catalyst behind the quick drain. Also you COULD just get the anker battery that everyone's been raving about. I personally swapped out my battery at a sprint store. Walked in and asked if they had any return Evo 3D's and the sales person was cool enough to do me the favor and swap my Sensation battery for one. 12 hour minimum batery evert day for me since!

wow u have so many accounts to be synced...i have disabled sync for everything except one yahoo mail account which syncs every 10 mins!!
what else could be the reason of awake battery usage?

I think every 10 minutes might be a little much. I would suggest doing a factory rest and starting fresh. I had horrible battery life when I first got my Sensation and a factory reset fixed it right up.

Then tap the graph to see the full screen graph.

same thing is happening to me but i have SOLID LINE under awake time.. ...nothing out of the ordinary running in watchdog or running services.. when i go to bed at night with full battery i wake up and its around 50% with NO USE.... i look at battery history and it says the phone has been awake 100% of the time,,, back ground data is off, auto sync off, already deleted facebook and twitter and picasa, location and gps off, disabled htchub and cant understand why phone is awake 100% of the time, how do i find out what is causing this? its really annoying ...

Ahhh I never knew you could get to that graph from there. Interesting.

download juice defender and screebl from market. Put the juice defender in Aggressive setting. and After installing screebl , got to android settings -> display -> disable all animations , set screen timeout to 15 seconds ( screebl will not let the device lock unless you have kept phone in horizontal orientation, so in general your device screen will turn off in 15 seconds whenever you are not using the phone )..i am sure you will reduce battery consumption....let me know if you could....

Do not use juice defender it will be a battery hog and it causes lag. Have you tried a factory reset?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk

screen on time coupled with brightness are where you start.
* Take your brightness down to 70-80%.
* Install Juice Defender. I have mine customized with Juice defender Ultimate (paid), but you could set it to aggressive.
From your pics, 12 hours is pretty good for the stock battery but you screen on time will put a major dent in that.
I would advise you to by one of the extended batteries that have been talked about in numerous threads. I just got 21 hours out of my non-stock battery yesterday. I have also gone over a full day as well.

Any suggestions about my battery life

I know that there are lots of these battery life threads and i have read most of them and I've tried closing processes that i don't need and i have tried setcpu to keep the cpu low when the device is off, which seemed to help some but my phone would shutoff randomly. So last night i had a full battery and went to bed when i woke up 8 hrs later i was at 20% so about 10% an hr not even using the device. I have attached some pics for reference does anyone have any thoughts that might help. Thanks
I don't know about galaxy S but on my X10 the problem was wifi.
When I didn't have a data plan I had wifi on all day and the battery was down in 10h max 12h.
To improve it I had to use JuiceDefender to enable wifi every five minutes for updates..
Try to disable wifi overnight, reboot the phone and see what happens.
By the way, what app you used for those stats?

I don't have wifi enabled, I don't use it that often. the name of the prog is system panel
Very weird indeed. I have my Captivate with Wifi on all day, GPS signal and auto sync and when I go to bed and wake up, the battery hasnt gone down at all. I had the phone go on full battery one day and I even sent a few texts and went online for 10 minutes before it lost just a bit of battery.
Do you have that one LED app installed? The one that shows a little red dot on the corner of your screen when you have a notification?

Ok so i tested again last night and I did not have my im+ app running and the battery life was soooo much better. I also did not have system panel running which records all the battery and cpu stats but i'm think its the im+ app that was taking up all the juice. Can anyone think of another app that does skype and facebook but that also does not take up sooo much batter life??? Thanks

Open up the dialer and type in *#*#4636#*#*
Go to BATTERY HISTORY>PARTIAL WAKE USAGE and maybe that will show you which app is sucking up your battery life while you sleep.
Also try, if you don't absolutely need an internet connection while you sleep, SMODA widget to turn off your mobile internet. It's quick, free, and painless.

I drained mine down to 5% and charged full a few times and still only got 8 - 10 hours on mine until i flashed to jh2 and now have been getting almost 16 hours with same usage and apps installed. I charge mine at night. I use ebuddy with the piwer saver option turbed on abd it does an ok job.

I have the stock ROM and stock launcher and my battery is awsome! 8 hours and I will still be above 80%.
Brightness: Lowest (manually control via stock stock gesture)
GPS: OFF
Wifi: ON all day
BT: OFF
GMail manual
Other emails accounts hourly for the most part.
Widgets: Google/Fancy Weather
BG: Mostly Black
I have never seen such good battery life on a smart phone.
I could easily get 2 days, but i rather charge every night and then not worry about battery usage.
The wifi/gmail/gps made a big difference, its too bad you can't set gmail to hourly or something lik e that. Some of my email accounts i would like to set longer than hourly.
The last few days have been pretty good one my phone. Used to get maybe 16 hours but my last charge lasted me about 50 hours with moderate browsing, gaming, and voice/text. Juiceplotter is telling me I'll be getting about 47 hours

My battery icon depletes one notch when I'm using the screen for about an hour. Some people recommend cycling the battery, in which you do a full drain and immediate full charge, 3 or 4 times. I've done it, but it's hard to say if it explains my good battery life.
let the battery drain COMPLETELY until the phone turns off a couple times, then charge it till 100% without unplugging it.

You don't want to drain the battery that much, those kind of batteries can be damaged. The phone turns off for a reason.
I haven't done the cycle thing and its fine. A lot of that comes from older batteries with the memory problem.
irus, software which is based on data connection drains the battery one way or another. Some apps now support push notifications and IM+ does too. Did you try to use push?
These claims of multiple day charges with moderate use is crazy to me. I have the newest ROM, a black screen, display all the way down, gps off, wifi on when in range, make zero voice calls, run juice, and only have 2 widgets that update every 4 hours. I use my phone for a maximum of 3 hours browsing the web, reading XDA and feedR, checking facebook and the occasional text message. My phone lasts a total of 12 to 14 hours. My battery has a manufacture date of late July. Is there some secret I am not aware of?

what i did to get 4% battery loss an hour

*edit: i posted this because i'm actually happy with my battery life*
1) install setcpu and have profiles-- screen off 216/216, overheat 216/600, and a sliding scale based on how much battery is left
2) uninstall battery monitor widget, and instead use anycut to put a shortcut to battery info on my home screen.-- i realized that i was running down by battery by constantly turning on my screen to look at this beautiful widget. therefore, i found an even less battery consuming option AND i limit myself to checking battery percentage once an hour
3) turn down screen brightness completely in the evening and in well lit areas-- aka work.
4) use titanium to freeze bloatware. it was brought up how this bloat showed up in running apps still and i used bloat freezer to freeze them again. HOWEVER, bloat freezer for some reason, made my battery life worsen, so i uninstalled and went back to titanium. however, now, these apps do not show up in running apps, but i have "lost" my account. i.e. can't find it to unfreeze if i wanted to.
5) used battery calibration and ran the phone down until it died, and then charged up completely while off, two nights in a row...
6) changed the secret menu to "auto"
7) removed the music player widget from my homescreen, replacing it instead with a shortcut to my all music playlist
things i did not budge on
there were things that i could've cut down, but would have, in my opinion, dumbed down the phone.
1) autosync both email addresses
2) beejive im is running at all times with push notifications, alert on the first message
3) words with friends also has push notifications enabled
4) i use shopkick constantly
5) "4G" service- its what im paying for, and i enjoy the extra speed, so i never turn it off.

First of all, only calibrate your battery once. The phone needs to take those reading for the battery to drain evenly. It can take awhile for it to read the entire battery. So just charge to 100 percent, clear battery stats and leave it for awhile. Secondly, 4 percent in an hour isn't all that bad. it should be more like 1 or 2 percent but 4 isn't terrible.
What is the secret menu?
I'm losing around 10% per hour.... moderate use.. I calibrated the battery once, and I don't really have any apps in the background. I also froze apps using BloatFreezer. I have no idea what to do at this point.
going to try this tomorrow morning, the phone prior to this replacement was dying in 5 hours with no use and data turned off while I was at work, that is terrible I would be happy if I get 10 hours, haha.
I recently bought the g2x and I must say I'm very disappointed in the battery life. How do you check what the battery % loss per hour?

Thought that maybe there is an app for that....
If there is, not sure what it is haha, but I rather just not download an app for that and just use math But really, the battery life on my phone is horrible, part of me wants to return it under buyer's remorse and part of me wants to wait for gingerbread to see if it works? Not sure what to do. I don't want to end up sticking with a crappy battery life phone.
So how do we access the "secret menu", and what do we change to auto?
for your 4% drop per hour, what was your phone usage? did you pretty much leave the phone idle or maybe 20 min of usage? that makes a big difference

I'm also getting around 4% per hour. Decent usage too (little over an hour of phone time with bluetooth, couple hours of web browsing over the day, alternating between wifi and cell radio). I got this through a battery calibration only.

This is an average of 4% drop over an 8-9 hour period. Over that time, I probably talked on the phone for about a half an hour, had iming running, so iw ould answer ims intermittently- probably 20 mins of iming, scanned a few things and checked in using shopkick, browsed for an hour cumulatively, read emails as they came in, and read and answered maybe 20 texts?
i would say that is medium/light usage. since i am in and out of meetings, i would only get a 1-2% drop some hours, and since i was talking on the phone, a bigger drop then...

I need stats from a poweruser. People keep reporting 20+ hrs but realistically u let ur phone sit for the whole d day and text once or twice. I use my phone all day. Thats what I bought it for.

[Q] Batt consumption after OTA update

Did anyone notice a change in battery consumption after the ota update?
Before the update I was getting to 97 percent after about 3 hours of the phone in idle - almost no use at all, no WiFi.
now It got to 94 percent with the same usage apart from 3 photos taken, could be that i'm just too harsh about it.. but still - wanted to check if anyone noticed anything.
edit: also I forgot to mention that I added the "mail" widget to one of the home screens, could be the power taker?
Probably the mail widget and the picture shooting (takes much ressources).
I haven't noticed any increased battery consumption, but it is probably to soon to tell.
Also forgot to mention I added two 'folder organizer' widgets , two folders which contain apps and games.
tomorrow I'll start off by removing them + the email widget and see if there is a difference.

are u really lookin' after for a 3% change in a 3h time ? maaan ... this could be a simple measure problem ... dont it take it too serious. if ya want to test it, maki it at least 10-20h run in standby (airplane mode on) ... it doesn't that accurate.
Yeh yeh I know I know I'm exaggerating.. I'm just becoming insane when it comes to battery life for some reason.. guess it's still the HD2's influence
It shouldn't bother me that much as it is.. I have a charger in my car plus I'm almost never gone more than 9 hours from home, which should be more than enough for the batt to last.. call me crazy it just occupies my mind
Update: strangest thing.... I just checked the phone, didnt turn the screen on since exactly one hour ago, batt was at 83 percent... that's about 9 percent in one hour!!!
removed the folder organizer folders, rebooted the phone, and suddenly received sms messages I should have received last night
now that's becoming something I should put my eye on.......
Update -
Well after another hour, phone only dropped 1 percent, i'll try to isolate the problem by adding the folder organizer widgets back and check in in one hour to see what the batt has to say..
If it'll drop 1-2 percent I guess there was some glitch causing the phone to not get calls\sms's and drop the batt usage about 10% in one hour..
Another thing I'm going to do is let it drain until it turns itself off and then fully charge it, I'v heard you should do that like 5 times when getting a new phone.
Update - 1 percent after another hour + folder organizer folders.. so, guess it was some major batt\radio glitch since last night until i rebooted today (phone was on charge all night)
I noticed that the setting 'Best WiFi performance' adds a serious battery drain when enabled after installing the FOTA, I was loosing 8-9% an hour compared to 3-4% before the update. Disabling this brought me back to 2-3% an hour. I still have a way better WiFi-connectivity compared to before the FOTA with this setting disabled.
I actually never checked that option but yeh I get your point, all is ok now I'll update if anything weird will happen, i'm getting 1-2% an hour

I charged mine up the night before last and have used it for internet, Angry Birds, whilst waiting for my clients and a lot of texting and about 10 mins of calls. This morning It's at 60% as I post this. I've noticed a huge difference since the upgrade and the phone is nowhere near as hot since the upgrade either.

It was a glitch 100%..
yesterday I let the phone drain itself (1day 7 hours - after the incident with the battery gone down 20 percent in 2 hours) then I fully charged it, turned it on last night before went to sleep, phone has been on since last night approx' 12 hours now - gone to 97 percent!! this is awesome!! I'm gonna' let it drain again a couple more times and this all over again
Battery lasts for approx 11-13 hours. Loosing 8-10% each hour with no usage at all.
It is updated. Reset to factory defaults. No extra apps installed. Just gmail, htc hub sync, wifi and that kind of stuff. No friends stream or Facebook or twitter.
What should I do? This is totally unacceptable.
Anyone tried to send it to service for fix?
first of all let the battery drain itself and let the phone shut down on its own, then fully charge the battery while the phone is off, do this for 3-4 times it will increase the battery's life span and charge time.
also check for the "best WIFI performance" as described in my post above, if it's checked uncheck it.
use auto screen brightness.
most important of all and may be causing your issue - check the stats of your charger, the charger I got with my sensation is imho faulty, it makes electricity noises, so I went back to my old HD2 one - perfect - the most important thing to check in your charger is the output voltages - it has to read 5v---1a - nothing different.

I think its better not to use auto screen brightness but use a fixed setting (maybe at around 25-30% brightness level). The reason being, the processor will have to be worked upon constantly to find the optimum brightness level and that would consume power!

Personally I believe the process of identifying the lighting and adapting to it doesn't take much effort from the processor, and based on my phone - the screen does consume energy but it will last 48 hours with the auto brightness setting on so why not use it? it's one of the good options we have in our phones and i really like it that when i go outside to the sun it'll increase the brightness in a millisecond.
the guy from the post above that's getting 10 hours of usage has a problem that I don't believe has something to do with his screen brightness unless he keeps the screen turned on all the time....
I updated to 1.35.xxx.x in the morning and after that the battery meter has only gone down by about 20% in the last 7 hours or so! The phone was off charge in the morning and I downloaded the update over my 2G connection. I also put on a live wallpaper just for fun! No calls made/received but few texts only. No games played. Surfed a little bit on internet (maybe 10 mins).
I'm liking it

Terrible Battery life problem

I recently got a new lg g2x. Seems like an alright device (it's not the best out there, but it was free so it'll do). The only thing I can't stand it even with pretty low usage i'm getting around 12 hours of battery life max. With the same type of usage from the sensation I had before I would be getting around 24 hours or more.
Any one got any ideas of what to do? I'm currently on eaglesblood, I was on CM7 latest nightly before, and before that was stock. All battery life sucked though.
Any help would be appreciated. I did order a spare battery on ebay, that i'm hoping might do some good.

What happened to your Sensation?
Have you tried calibrating after flashing a new ROM? Personally, fitsnugly's CM7 Kang plus Faux's or Morfic's Trinity kernel has always given me really good battery life. Around 24 hours with average useage.
I'm returning it via American Express premium returns. By calibrate you mean?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Use the battery calibration app in the market after flashing new roms. If you can't figure out how to make your battery last longer, just buy an extended battery for like 12 dollars off ebay. Everybody has had good luck with them. There's a thread over it in the accessories portion of the g2x forum.

Alright, I already ordered a spare battery, but I'm not sure what else it could be. I'll post back after I get the battery and try calibrating it.
Just in case you may have overlooked this....turn your wifi off when not using it. Wifi burns goood.
My wifi is always off, although a few times when trying to turn it on when just flashing CM7 it resulted with not being able to turn it on due to some "error." A recent example of my battery drain is: Cell Standby 43%, Phone Idle 32%, Display 16%, Android System 11%.
Calibrating would be my advice. I get a good 24 hours of usage with CM7 with normal usage. I get 30+ with light usage, and this is with wifi set to never sleep.
Everyone that gets 16+ hours, do you have Data running all the time?
Data + Light Use = 8hr MAX
Juice Defender "Data Off" + Light Use = 14hrs MAX
Juice Defender "Data Off" + Medium USE = 8hrs
Only did a couple texting and my battery is at 35% already, and its only been 6 hours...
Battery Calibrate = Flash new rom > 100% > Calibrate > use and recharge for 3 days...

Did you check what is using battery? And if your phone is actually "sleeping" in battery info?
I'm running [ROM] [PORT] G2X SINGH UI v1.12.30 (MIUI + MODS)
Cell Standby 26%
Phone Idle 23%
Andriod System 17%
Telephony System 15%
FOTA Kill 7% << Don't know what that is
Launcher 6%
Voice Calls 5%
10017 4% << Don't know what that is
Everything else is 1%
How can I find out if my Phone "Actually Sleeping"?
If it's actually sleeping, then your phone would not have any activity under "awake" while the screen is off. Also currently I'm on 30 hours battery with 33% left.

It show that it's was awake the whole time... the past 7 hours...
When I scroll down it show these that is on the whole time:
Launcher
Telephony Service on and off
Messaging
Facebook
Gmail
Email
Weird though, I have Juice Defender on Extreme.. so there isn't any data running until I enable it.
Well to find out if it's been awake the whole time you have to go in one more menu deeper. You can do that by pressing the graph in the battery stats.

i recently installed stock froyo (just rooted) and i actually get amazing battery life...not even running juice defender or anything and ive been using my phone quite frequently. data on and off throughout the day, near constant texting, approx 1hr worth of talk time and other miscellaneous activities and i still have 60% left of my battery...its been on for about 16hrs now

I'm looking in the graph, Awake is on the whole time. Then when I scroll down, these are the program is always on:
Launcher, Telephony Service, Messaging, Facebook, Gmail, Email, Maps
Well I just installed Advance Task Killer again.. even though alot of people said it doesn't work. I'm going to test that for the rest of the day.

I'm currently exploring which programs are preventing the phone to stay "asleep."
I freeze lots of programs I don't use, the only ones I see constantly active now are Google maps, Facebook, and the launcher (which I hope isn't one of the issues).
I froze the first 2 and I'll be doing tests today to see exactly what it is.
Do you guys use the default MIUI launcher?
Yeah I'm using the default MIUI launcher..
I also freezed MAP and FACEBOOK... see how that goes for the rest of the day.
Phone was off for about an hour straight, think I'm getting better "sleep" periods. Launcher activity is constantly blue.
I use the modified launcher with the extended settings. Only widget on it is fancy widget pro.
Going to see how well the phone fairs for the rest of the day.
EDIT:
Been doing research, apparently telocation causes a lot of battery drain, and alarm manager (although mine is almost always asleep).
I recently uninstalled fancy widget in hopes that launcher won't keep itself awake, and froze the telocation and no freeze or force close on anything.
I had a major battery issue with my last install of CM7 on a new G2X, what fixed it for me was enabling "use wireless networks" in location and security settings. I noticed something was odd when I ran speedtest and every time it would try to connect to servers in NY or NJ(I live in NC).....I'm not exactly sure what was going on, but enabling it fixed my battery life.

I think I solved the ICS fast battery drain... simple solution

I have a Galaxy Note and updated to ICS about a month ago....
Like many of you I also experienced fast battery drain, around 10% or more per hour, without usage. even more when I use it. 5 hours with moderate usage.
I am on unlimited data plan so 4G is always on.
I also tried fully charging the phone before going to bed at 11pm, woke up at 6am and battery already at 20+%, that's when I was sleeping, no use at all.
For a month, I have been charging my phone 2x a day!
I was very frustrated and wanted to go back to GB.
I was researching for weeks for the solution (also, checking for ICS updates almost everyday, waiting to see if Android had found a solution already), no one seemed to have a concrete solution, some suggest resetting, formatting etc.
These were so complicated for me I didn't even dream of doing them.
3 days ago, I accidentally switched off my 4G connection.
I didn't realize that the connection was off..
I was happy to see my battery charge was still at 98% after an hour, after 2 hours, light usage 95%.
"What's happening?"
Then I saw that my 4G was off.
Now, I was thinking 4G connection was the culprit... but I wanted to explore more and see if there was an app that could be causing this....
I checked my apps that used data and nothing was on, then I checked my sync settings, This is where I found out that I had so many accounts that had SYNC ON! Twitter, facebook, gmail, samsung e-mail etc.
So, I tried an experiment.... I stopped SYNCING everything.
It worked!
For one day, maybe 12hrs. (light usage with 4G connection on, just light usage, I checked my gmail by using the refresh button) 75% left on the battery!!! Wow!!
Then I thought "come on...gmail and android? Same owner/company right? I'm going to try to turn ON the GMAIL SYNC, I'm sure there won't be a problem"
I was right!!!
Now on my second day with 4G connection ON, Sync Gmail ON, medium usage, maybe 20-30min of phone calls, 30 or more texts, email and around 10 minutes of internet surfing.
9 hours unplugged and battery only at 70%!!!
I am very happy!
Oh, last night, I think only about 8-10% of battery was used (6 or 7 hours of sleep only 8-10% used....) nice!
For those who have not tried it yet... please try it... I hope it also works for you.
I just wanted to share my experience and hopefully help others that are, i'm sure, also already so frustrated with ICS.
I apologize for the long post.
Cheers!
so in other words disabling sync for apps that use networks poorly, over a high power useage radio.
its not really a solution, more of avoiding the problem . I know sync falls under android os in the data usage. which means to disable its bg data disables it all, so the real solution is to apply bg data restrictions to sync list as well to cover all ways of data access.
evidence of this is that Facebook ignores bg data restrictions( no big surprise there)
I think there is something wrong with my twitter app?
maybe I changed my password in my home page but did not change it in my twitter app and the app kept on trying and trying to log in but can't, maybe this caused the fast battery drain?
I didn't check it yet, maybe one of these days, but now, I'm happy... I really don't need to sync twitter all the time anyway.
Guys, check your accounts and sync... let us know what happens.
OLD NEWS.
Try this. My experience is on the AT&T Skyrocket, but from the research I've done both the Skyrocket and Note have the same problem. It's probably your charger.

You have CPU Spy, so run this test to rule one thing out:
1) Charge your phone overnight.
2) When you wake up in the morning, pull it from the charger and reset the timers in CPU Spy.
3) Let the phone sit idle for a few minutes with the screen off.
4) Refresh the timers in CPU Spy.
If your phone spent significant time at 384 mhz during that idle time and none in Deep Sleep, it's your charger. If it's deep sleeping, it's not your charger (do you use more than one charger?) To further verify the problem, restart your phone, let it sit idle for a few minutes, and check CPU Spy to see if it went into deep sleep after you restarted.
I have a couple of chargers that cause my phone to never deep sleep after I charge with them. The thing that remedies it is restarting the phone or plugging in to a "working" charger. It's a know issue, there's a dedicated thread in the Note forum where someone pinpoints the issue for the Note.
I researched a lot about battery problems on this phone, so list more specifics (do you always use the same charger, charge to full, apps, widgets, etc) and I'd be glad to help. Also, when you take a screen shot of your battery life like you did, take one of your screen on time as well. Since that's your primary drain, it's a good indicator of how your battery life is. 8 hours of battery life sucks, but it's really good if 4 hours is with the screen on.
EDIT: Here's the link to a VERY informative thread on the issue for the Note: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1519084
And one more EDIT, with a workaround: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1516565

And has worked for most Android versions.
wow.
the more stuff you have 'on' on your phone, the more battery it will use. hmmm. Do you leave GPS on when your inside a building also?
I think syncing should not be put on auto. Unless on necessary apps like email. And... email only? Facebook and what not social app, keeping track on website when you want to is prolly sufficient. Unnecessary background data mining will without doubt drain the battery.
I will PM all senior mods here on xda and suggest you for 'Elite Developer'...you deserved it like noone else
This is not development and should not be posted in a development forum.
Moved to general.
