how do i unsitall preloaded system app
root the phone. install titanium backup and you can uninstall system apps. MAKE SURE YOU DO RESEARCH PRIOR TO UNINSTALLING ANY SYSTEM APPS.
Is there a list of safe system apps to remove for this Galaxy S 4G?
There is, but you have to search for it. I'm on my phone and the search function sucks.
u must root the phone to gain access to root files and delete bloatware apps or pre installed apps but b4 u delete them be sure to back them up with a something like titanium backup so if u need warantee work u can re-install them
You can also use FBis251 [CWM] SGS4G KJ6 Debloater, instead of uninstalling one app at a time. You could uninstall all the ones you want removed in one shoot.Works Great. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1385187

This only work if your running a KJ6 rom , not Froyo.

is Titanium backup still the best?
i uninstalled a stock app and it wont reinstall
also drop box always fails 50 times
And the Dev never writes back on the PRo version
Is there a better alternative to back up a phone and then remotely save the information via WIFI to a PC or something
Cheers
I personally think it is the best backup app, and now you can also extract apps (and data) from clockwork mod backups. It is also free

You should just freeze the stock apps instead of uninstalling
I recently rooted my Skyrocket (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340526) but am unable to delete apps. I have full superuser access and have even installed a custom ROM already, but the only option when I go to "manage apps" is to delete the updated version. I've even tried deleting the apps using Launcher Pro's method (long holding on the trash icon) and it just says "Uninstall unsuccessful."
So, what gives? Why am I rooted and don't have full access over my apps??
Thanks.
EDIT: Also, just to add, I have apps that came with the stock phone (like AP Mobile, AccuWeather, etc.) that I can see in the manage applications list under ALL but they aren't in my app drawer. So I get the worst of both worlds: some apps I can't access and can't uninstall!
Root doesn't change the fact that the apps are protected system apps. The default uninstaller will still stop you from fully removing them.
You can easily download a free app from the market, such as Root Uninstaller, to remove protected system apps. Just be careful, as you can so remove vital system apps crucial to the operation of android with root Uninstaller. Only remove apps you are sure won't hurt the system.

Many of the roms don't have the bloat. Look them over and see if any fit your needs. You'll need rom manager (marketplace). Before flashing any of the roms for this phone, read the threads associated with each one, so you'll have an idea about any issues. Make sure you also understand the consequences of flashing a rom.
You dont need rom manager. I dont use it. But some people prefer it.

Keep in mind. You can flash the stock recovery tar and still take an ota update. But if you delete bloat you can not. Youll have to flash back to stock. Unless you have a nandroid backup with bloat intact.

For those who are new to this, like me, it is the easiest way, after looking over some of the guides.
And if you choose to use rom manager. You have to select the tmobile galaxy s2. Skyrocket is not listed. But it is almost an identical phone.
Just download titanium backup, it can uninstall protected apps.

Thanks for the help everyone. I just moved from the Atrix which didn't have protected systems apps after bypassing the bootloader.
I ended up installing "Sky Ice Cream Sandwich" which I thought didn't have bloatware but it still shows up... And I did use ROM Manager but that was just because I wanted to get into CWM easier.
Anyway, I found a list of apps I can uninstall here so I'll just be using Titanium Backup since I've already purchased it.
Thanks again.
I use Titanium Backup, it works flawless and is really easy.
can't delete system apps
Hello. Pls help me to solve my problem. I've already rooted my HTC desire 620 but I still can't delete my system apps(no root permissions). Also doesn't works another apps with(root needs)
Thanks
Hello to everyone,
I have flashed Kitkat 4.4 and AOKP into my Galaxy S3 mini (i8190N) from this MACLAW website and it seems as it will work.
The only thing I have a problem with is backing up my apps with Titanium Backup. After I chose the folder with apps in 'settings', they didn`t appear in the app list.
Anyone knows why?
Hopefully you backed up apps before flashing new rom. All you need to do now is install Titanium Backup, allow it super user privileges and going to Backup/Restore tab of the app you should see all the apps there. The ones in red are system apps, don't restore those. Can't remember for sure right now, but I thing the ones stricked through are those backed up but not yet installed. Those that are in white bold font are already installed with the new rom.

Beware that somethimes, if you try to restore an app that comes with stock rom (like Notes or Memo on Galaxy S2) it can not be restored and Titanium Backup would get stuck on that restoring popup screen. You need to kill all the processes by stopping the app in settings -> apps -> running apps. You also need to stop cached process by going to Show cashed processes
Hello OneplusOne users,
has anybody know this Adflex virus / trojan horse?
Every few hours my display shows ads by Adflex.
For example Hola Launcher ads.
I searched Google for "Adflex Android"...
But there are only strange search results, linking to sites, where I shall download a file called "SpyHunter-Installer.exe". These websites are not serios, I think.
I have tried Avast, Ahnlab and AVG. None of these anti virus apps finds any real malware / viruses / trojan horses, except SuperSu or busybox installer...
What can I try now?
I do not want to wipe my data.
Does anybody know this ****?
Edit: AdAway is not working anymore.
Wipe your phone before anything important gets stolen from you, as sensitive information.

Have you tried malwarebytes? Might be worth a shot.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.malwarebytes.antimalware
Root and install a new rom.
Make sure you use TITANIUM BACKUP to backup all of your data.
I have solved my problem.
First I checked my cm12s on second slot.
Last time I booted this is a few weeks ago and then was everything fine.
Now cm12s is affected, too.
I have wiped everything.
Clean installed Temasek's cm12.1 v12.1.
Everything was ok then, until I installed Mybackup Root from play store. After installing this, first ads were shown within seconds. Adaway stopped working again.
After I wiped cache, deleted data and uninstalled Mybackup Root, everything seems to be OK.
Now I will switch back to Titanium Backup.
How can this happen with an app, installed from official play store?
Don't restore a backup, you will just be restoring the malware too. You need to do a completely clean install.
---------- Post added at 08:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:09 PM ----------
By complete I mean do not use titanium backup.

That's true and that's exactly what I did.
Und would be really stupid to restore an old backup...
I have even wiped internal storage as well.
I meant, that I will switch back to Titanium Backup for future backups...
api.adflex adflex

I have backed up unnecessary system bloat with titanium backup, but I'm wondering if I uninstall these apps, and my Backup turns out not to be usable (maybe I break the system), will a factory reset bring these apps back?
Also, if I do I uninstall the system app, will it give any useful extra space for the system?

The space gained in the /system is the same as the size of the system app removed, every apps is a different size.
Thanks for the quick answer. I appreciate it. In that case, I will simply freeze those items, instead of deleting them.
