So I just picked up this D2G from eBay. The guy said it was stuck on Bootloader and he couldn't get an SBF to stick so I thought I'd give it a try. Sure enough it is stuck on D0.11, battery OK, usb, connect to program, etc Bootloader on boot. I've tried to SBF .330 twice via Linux (I know how to do this, I've SBF'd a DX dozens of times) and done wipe data/cache and cache solo. I've gone into bootloader via the up button + power method, and recovery works via x + power too. It still boots straight into bootloader. Ideas?
hello friend, I solved this problem using RSD Lite 5.0...
you may have a bad sbf.. I know there are some fake .330 out there.. try to sbf back to .29 then update...

ok so heres what happened:
I have a d2g and flashed fission 2.4.3. everything was fine, but i was having an issue where the phone went into recovery if i plugged it to a wall charger and unplugged it fast. so i decided to flash sbf and return it to stock to begin the root/flash process all over again.
after successfully flashing sbf im stuck at the droid/red eye boot animation, i read that i was supposed to then go into recovery and clear/wipe data/cache, only problem is my phone wont go into recovery mode, it only shows the picture of the little android and an exclamation point inside a triangle, can anyone help me?
when you get into the screen with the little android guy, the exclamation point and the triangle, push the button on the keyboard with the magnifying glass, then you can wipe your cache/data
when you get to the android guy and the triangle hit the magnifying glass key on your physical keyboard...then factory reset
thank you guys sooo much! I just wiped data and cache and it fully booted! now i just need to call *228 to activate.
How would I boot into stock recovery on D2G? Power+Vol- Power+Vol+ ? Neither do anything...
(EDIT)
"Power+X" Will boot into stock recovery
Recovery Disappeared
After SBF; my D2G won't let me to recovery ~ stuck at the M LOGO
I tried everything including X+Power but it's as if Recovery is fried , it's lost..
Is it possible that the Keyboard is burned? Is there any other way ; any other key or button combination to boot into recovery? Maybe ADB Shell SU from off power?
So far only Software Upgrade mode works; VolumeUp+VolumeDown+Power
Please help..
P.S. Why do they call RSD Lite? Is there a non-lite full version which may let me boot into recovery using the computer and USB cable?
Thank you in advance//

Your phone went into CWM if you plugged charger and unplugged it fast? Try delete system/bin/hijack and system/bin/ logwrapper, then rename logwrapper.bin to logwrapper?

Look at EDIT #2!
Dear xda-developer,
My Dad got a brandnew Motorola Droid 2 and I should flash him a new Gingerbread Rom(CM7). But I briked his phone( )... so...
How can i get access to the Recovery Clockwork Mod after brik?
I tried to flash the CM7 to the Droid 2 but i forget to wipe it and to clear cache. After i installed the Custom Rom I reboot the phone, but after the Motorola Picture happen nothing. I tried different methods to get access to the Recovery Mod, but it doesen't work (holding the power Button and the X-Button, holding the power button and the volume down button or the arrow up button (but with this i get access to the bootloader))
Can I flash the Recovery with RSD-Lite? Maybe with step-by-step instruction? Pleeaaasee
Thanks a lot,
Johnny
EDIT: I try to flash another Custom Rom via RSD Lite... hope it works
EDIT #2: Battery Energy is low... and I can't recharge it (youtube.com/watch?v=3uVRZzRMkfg) ... don't know why(<-- NEED HELP!)
1. You can only flash SBF via RSDLite. You cannot flash custom ROMs like that.
2. You need to get some other battery, or charge your battery by some other means.
3. You cannot boot into ClockworkMod in this state.
Okay, now I can charge the battery with another Phone... but how can I access to Clockwork Mod?
Is a sbf-file to unroot a phone and make a recovery?
You cannot access ClockworkMod when the phone is bricked.
Flash an SBF, then root and install Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrap.
Ok, i tried this one:
mydroidworld.com/forums/droid-2-discussion/5323-tbh-mydroidworld-present-droid-2-2-3-20-triple-threat.html
but RSD always says that the flashing process failed...

Can you kindly inform us why are you using a Droid 2 SBF to flash a Droid 2 Global phone?
Ok, I found a sbf for milestone 2... but I realised that there is no Cyanogen Mod for Milestone 2... ony for the Droid 2. Is that right? So can I use this( download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=nightly&device=cdma_droid2) nightly builds wich are made for the Droid 2 on Milestone 2?
Thanks a lot!
AFAIR, the D2 port doesn't know about GSM.
Same problem on my Droid 2
I was attempting to flash a ROM on my Droid 2 via ROM Manager and forgot to wipe the cache & data...now when my Droid 2 reboots, I get a constant loop of the reboot screen with the Cyanogenmod 7 logo. I've tried going to recovery mode, via holding down the X on the keypad, then turning it on. It allowed me to clear my user data & wipe my cache, but when rebooting the system it still continues to reboot in a loop with Cyanogenmod 7, not taking me to the setup screen. I feel like I'm missing a few steps. Can someone help me with what I am doing wrong?
SBF, research (google is your textbook), and once you've researched enough research some more and then try again. Any time you feel like you've hit a brick wall SBF. Never use D2 or Milestone 2 roms with D2G. Same for the inverse. And use only a D2G SBF.

i have switched carriers, and want to sell my d2g i used the 2.4.29 sbf file and rsd lite to restore it to normal, and its stuck at the droid screen i cant believe im having a noob moment. i made sure all my usb drivers where up to date and had the newest version of rsdlite any advice would be great ?
Pull the battery.
If it doesn't help, go to the stock recovery and perform “wipe data/factory reset”.
Just in case you don't know how to get to the stock recovery, here: http://droid.koumakan.jp/wiki/Android_Recovery
grrr it says E:cant't open /cache/recovery/command
E:can't open/ cache/recovery/caller
Are you sure the SBF process was completed successfully?
Speaking of which, did you SBF booting the phone into the SBF loader?
The errors you saw are ok simply do wipe cache data and you should be fine.

Close RSDlite, and just take the battery out for a second. The phone will boot normally.

Hi, Have you tried Manual reset to clear the data/factory this sorted my install of Cm7 the other day when it boot looped.
To Manually Reset
If there are significant problems with your device or you are not able to follow the steps above please use the following process to manually reset the phone:
Turn off phone
Press Power key + Camera Key + GalleryKey to power on the phone and bring up the recovery screen
When the Triangle/Exclamation point screen appears, press Volume Up + Gallery Key down and tap the camera key to show the recovery menu.
When the recovery window appears, use the volume up/down keys to navigate the menu and the camera key to enter your selection.
Select Wipe data/factory reset
Select Reboot Phone
i cant get to stock recovery my volume up is broken>>> any fix for this using computer?

How are you getting to the bootloader to flash sbf with broken volume up? As far as I know bootloader is volume-up + camera while powering on. Maybe it's only partially broken?

i used volume down + camera button and power on to get to bootloader. is there a way to boot my phone from bootloader to open recovery using adb set up? if so, can u link me the application i will use. ive been so eager to fix my phone its been 3 month since it broke. any suggestion for fixing it? thnx in advance
hey guys i found something http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1210343 can i use easyadb to boot from bootloader to openrecovery coz im not so familiar android sdk.
i run adb or terminal but my phone is not recognised i already installed usb drivers for xt720. any steps to boot my phone in recovery using pc?
Which sbf are you using?
I think it's possible to create a synthetic sbf that wipes /data and /cache, must many of them should already do that. There's always a risk that the reboot is caused by something else father than lack of wipe. IIRC this usually happen after boot animation.
Anyway, I'm wondering if you're trying to flash the modsbf--that will never boot after sbf.
i used us brightpoint and all other sbf but still it keeps rebooting after m logo.wont go through bootanimation.i havent tried to flash modsbf. mioze wer can i get the synthetic sbf that wipes all? if ever it exist can u link me the sbf?
thnx in advance

The brightpoint is already a full flash that should wipe /data and /cache (it contains empty /data and /cache). Some of the Korean ones are service flashes that don't wipe data which is why I asked. (Don't bother with modsbf--you must have working stock recovery for that to work) The idea would be to use sbf-depacker to create a sbf that only has data.img and cache.img taken from eg the brightpoint, but I don't think that will help here since brightpoint doesn't work... I assume you've tried flashing and booting with the sdcard and sim removed?
hi!
pables123, how did you root your phone?
with superoneclick, or?

i already did it. i wonder what causes it to reboot? it started when i charged the phone overnight then wen i woke up it was stuck in bootanimation overnight.i tried to fixed it later that day but it keeps rebooting everything i flash any fresh sbf. any suggestion how to fix it since my volume up is broken?
thnx
Let me preface from saying I've had this phone and flashed countless ROMs on it.
Also the power button died on it (fast reboot etc problem) and since I had already ordered my Nexus 5 I just decided to rip the button off and use it for the few weeks until I got my new phone.
Now that its been a while I decided to see what I could do with it and wanted to boot. It wouldn't boot and was stuck at the loading screen for a good hour. So I went okay I'll just decide to use Odin and bring it back to stock. Followed the guide here to the T and 3 separate times all that happens is the phone is stuck at the S boot screen. Tried both stock roms posted.
Now since I don't have a power button I can't get into recovery (which I'm assuming is wiped but I have the Odin recovery ready to flash but whats the point?)
I tried adb/fastboot and the phone isn't recognized.
Any suggestions? Currently stuck at the boot logo for 1hr 25min. I'm aware of wiping the cache but I don't know how to do that without recovery.
Edit: So I opened the sucker again, got some foil and shorted the power button contacts and actually got to the stock recovery and did a wipe of the data and cache. Now booting fingers crossed. If this doesn't work at least I know I can get into recovery and install TWRP and a custom rom and see if that boots. However if this is a go then I'm good (only want it t run Perktv)
Edit2: So I couldn't get anything to install with TWRP (tried 3 different roms) so I went to the other recovery (Philz?)
Was able to install SlimKat (was using SlimBean when I was using the phone) and was finally able to install it... now its in a boot loop.
So I guess back to fully wiping (again) but I remember with these phones you had to do the wipe 2x which I didn't do. God I'm so spoiled with the Nexus.
Off to do that and see if that helps.
Edit3: Worked!! Woohoo
