I found these somewhere...i forgot where, but they work well on the hero. ill post them here.
i do have a question tho and hopefully the XDA community (You Guys) can help me out.
in both of the touchwiz apk's i have, the default screen is the first fine, im fine with that, but is there a touchwiz for our phones that have the default screen as the middle screen (like the epic)
what's so special about the touchwiz? What features does it have over launcher pro?
it's just for people who maybe wanted to try touchwiz, like me. Its kinda nice and I haven't noticed a lag

Isn't there a setting for default screen? I seem to remember this, setting hidden somewhere in the touchwiz settings.
from the mobile me
I didn't see an option like that. If u see that option then let me know

And why are the Samsung Widgets empty?
Going back to launcher pro

i think touchwiz looks like a ****ty iphone ripoff. OP thanks for posting but ill stick to AWD.
Samsung widgets r empty cuz we don't have any installed, and even if we could install them I doubt it'd show up. I do agree this is a rip off of iPhone, many others have said that, but I thought this would be nice to share. If u stick to adw or launcherpro, I understand (I'm using launcherpro plus, there is no lag in the latest update)

I would not mind it if it had calendar and bookmark widgets

Can this apk be installed over any Sprint 2.1 ROM (currently running fresh 2.4)?
for droid eris users the first touchwiz apk works just tried it on cyanogen tazz
This is kinda out of place in the Hero forum, but I installed the first one on my Samsung Intercept, and it works great!
It would be nice to see this touchwiz port get fleshed out throughout the OS; messaging and sounds and the whole nine

rules are rules whether you want attention or not. im sure this will come to the evo when source or an ruu leaks.
CM6 already has Landscape homescreen... Just gotta make sure the fancy widget changes to whats above.
If you use launcher pro, the launcher icons rotate too.
CM 6 (stock vanilla froyo) does this. and its better than sence.
Example... The fancy widget needs a better landscape mode
Swyped from my Snappified Evo via XDA App
Just a notion here, but when did everyone start using CM6?
The day it came out

When we see a non_TMobile Vision leak we should be able to obtain Landscape sense by using a few apk's from it.

I am not running the CM due to lack of 4g and camera issues. But I am sure it will be on my rotation soon, right now Fresh has had the least force closes for me.

+1...I prefer vanilla in a lot of areas compared to sense, but I always find myself going back to sense. LauncherPro is getting better though.
Works fine with LauncherPro as well. I have 4G and all that good stuff on a fast, stable ROM. I have not found any Sense widget that doesn't have an equal or superior replacement anyway. They're OK but not very customizable and kinda gaudy/glossy.

Based on Eh17, but with some TW4 Files.
May not boot, so good luck.
I know the OP is boring for now, but I'll make it better later.

I've been running this since last night, and it seems to work much better for me than when I tried to run TW 4.5. The only issue I've had so far is with market updates crashing the market, but I'm sure that's from the way I restored all my apps, since I was so tired.
I would like to know if anyone knows of a way to do this true TW4 standalone from the ROM, or is the only way to use this ROM?
If it is anything like TW4.5, you have to turn on landscape mode followed by a reboot. It only has to be done once but once you do you get landscape.

Yeah, all you need is the framework.jar from the framework folder and it needs to go in an Eh17 rom and you also need twlauncher from system/app

Just manually add the apps you want on the dock.
(App Drawer > Menu > View Type > Customizable Grid > Menu > Edit > *Make Changes* > Menu > Save > Menu > View Type > Go back to what you like.)
It's a lot more annoying than other launchers on the market, but you can still do it. TW4 seems to have a maximum of three apps, plus the app drawer. On the custom TW4.5, it allows for more, but the app drawer still will always be the right-most icon. Those two things are all I would as for Samsung.. well maybe an auto-hide home screen number too. Minor annoyances but a silky smooth launcher.
Also, thanks for the reply xboxfanj, about trying to add this without needing to flash the whole ROM.
Thanks.

If I can find the time, I might try learning how to do that, because I'm having a bit too much trouble combining my mods. I might tinker with it, along side working on getting ACS ICS where I want it on my phone. In the meantime, I've been using QQLauncher. It's nicer looking, and more of what I want, since it readily works with ACS ICS, but TW4 seemed to be a bit smoother for me. Now that the Galaxy Nexus has been announced, I might also be a little more patient as things develop. Not to mention, Cyanogen is getting pretty polished. Decisions, decisions.. I'll be glad when I'm finally settled on something. Until then, hopefully I can learn enough to help put some of these solid mods together.

St. Louis Buddies. Cardinals 2nite. I'll fix it and make it more TW4 like too, IE: not only the launcher, other interface elements too. I'll make it a theme.

I know it's a bit much to ask and probably won't be around for a while, i'm positive there are people interested in it just as much as me as i'm currently "ICS pimping" my phone out but due to my locked boot loader and fastboot not working due to 02 sim lock (and not having the persuasion or the trust to do it via online no offence due to the costs..) i can't get cm7 running and using that ICS theme i was wondering if anyone could make this ?
With widget locker you can mimic the lockscreen now.
Oh i have the wallpapers, the widget locker and using the ICS clone, the default UI sounds , the ringtones and notifications ripped from the Galaxy Nexus, launcher pro icons theme, the google widget and the clock widget, oh and the market update the google music app update and the google+ update from 4.0
i'm getting there lmao
Couldn't you just switch to ADW or Go Launcher and use one of their ICS themes?

no, because i already have that done read my previous comment, i'm talking about a theme the way the Galaxy S II theme got ported to this rom, re-themeing the stock status bar, apps framework, system UI etc.
It's a bit much to ask but i'm sure someone will do it soon enough if they have the interest

Why not try porting the theme yourself you can edit framework and systemui without needing to decompile so shouldnt be too hard
trust me it attempted it before and i ended up bricking my phone, don't ask probz didn't give it correct permissions , being a uni student leaves me little time to focus on things like that 9:00 A.M. and i'm up to my neck in coursework lol.

Is there any way someone can port touchwiz 4.0 from the T-Mobile galaxy s 2 to work with our kj6 roms? (Valahalla, octane v3, etc). I know about touchwiz 4.5 but its very unstable on my phone for some reason and its app sorting in the app drawer does not work. I love how smooth tw4 is compared to others like launcher pro and adw and I just think it looks soo much better. I appreciate it if anyone can help. I'm sure other memebers would like this as well. Furthermore, I'm running Valhalla- it comes with this launcher, the modified touchwiz 4, on there. You do not need this for valhalla.

The 4.5 comes from the fact that it was a modified version of 4. This launcher automatically comes configured with the stay in ram feature selected- it's been awhile but I am sure that Launcherpro has that feature as well, but it is by default off. Try disabling that and see if it just fc's the launcher (thus resulting in a restart of the launcher) as opposed to your phone crashing. Thats really the only thing that would separate it from other launchers. You can turn the 3d effects off as well to help with the ram. I always make sure to kill passive processes- then again I do not use octane so I am not sure how it runs.
I never had problems with the app drawer. You can change the sorting preferences in the preferences menu of the launcher. It is by default on unrestricted, but you can change it to alphabetical.

I tried turning that off, launcher won't even open anymore so I had to reinstall it. Tried running it for a day but it just doesn't work on my phone which is currently running valahlla final. I have the app drawer set to alphabetical but it still doesn't sort properly. If I install a lot of new apps or delete a lot of apps, there are lots of blank spaces and the only way to get rid of the spaces is to manually move each app one by one which is really a big pain. I just want stock touchwiz 4. I hope someone can get it to work on this phone. After playing with my brother's galaxy s 2, none of the launchers on the market feel anywhere close to that smooth.

Yeah go launcher is pretty good. Still isn't as fast as launcher pro though. I really wish we had a stock touchwiz 4 launcher for this phone. Tw4.5 freezes too much and no other launcher out there really comes close to how fluid tw4 is. I've tried like every launcher in the market too.
