A fast review of my Resin Skin Case

I ordered this on Feb 12 and got it today Feb 16, would of probably been faster if it wasn't for the weekend and Presidents day.
Unlike my first of the same color with checkered marks, this one is clear and smoke colored, Fitment is fine, putting it on for the first time was a tight fit but it will give you the peace of mind that once its ON, its ON forever and this sucker isnt going anywhere. Fitment is perfect and all holes line up. What I like most about this is that it extends over the Camera lens unlike the previous one in which there was no protection at all.
I like it and will be ordering from these guys in the future.

Is this actually a crystal case? if so then I think it's a little too steep on the price.
But it does have an acrylic / rubbery look to it compared to a normal crystal case, but then again, also the pictures are quite blurry.

No its not a crystal case. Its a silicon resin case thats somewhat elastic. Yeah those pics are blurry but thats the best I can do for now since I used my G1 to take the shots.

How does the feel of the case compare to the Checkered/Argyle smoke case? That's the case I have right now, and I would definitely be interested in upgrading if the material feels the same.

Does this still work if you put it in the dock?

Just ordered. Waiting for shipping conf. I got the clear candy one. I like the look of the N1 so if I can show it off as much as possible great.
I am getting this mostly for the grip and feel. Though it is nice it will protect it.

This one has a more sturdier feel to it, but its just as flexible.

No it will not work on a dock, if you have no plans of using a dock then this is the way to do. I dont think that there are any cases out there that will work with the Nexus dock.

Would the case block the camera lens?

The case does not block the camera lens. There is a small opening over the center of the glass lens so while the lens is protected from most scratches I haven't seen any effect on pictures (thought I haven't taken many). One thing i noticed though is that the small opening seems to attract dust which is hard to wipe off. A can of compressed air solves that problem though.

Think I might just order this one, using the checkered case right now and would love the cover for the camera lens.

Is this better then the crystal cases?

How much thickness does this add to the phone? I am interested in some protection for my nexus, but don't want to double its thickness like many of the rubber cases do.

Just received the case. Here are the goods:
Fits perfectly
Protects the camera without ruining pictures
Flexible rubbery plastic provides good protection
And the bad:
Couldn't get it to fit properly with my phantomskinz
Harder to get the charger to plug in (inserted at slight angle)
Overall it's very good. It'll protect against most falls but you'll still need a screen protector. It fit over my phantomskinz snuggly but the skin and the case kept rubbing and sticking together making it difficult to install properly (some of the alignment was off) so I opted to remove the back parts of my skin - now it fits perfectly.

-And the bad:
---Harder to get the charger to plug in (inserted at slight angle)
I can confirm this. Nothing a little exacto work couldn't fix though

[Q] 'Bumper' style case?

My most hated thing about my Galaxy S is the bezel. Was wondering if anyone's come across a case similar to Apple's bumpers, as this would hide the bezel in a more elegant way. I've already tried the DIY method of using a wristband, but the phones is too big and so it just snapped when I was trying to put it on.
Any suggestions are welcome

Dont forget the home button really gets easily scratched even by our bare skin!

the Euro ToughCase is also very good, for protection
but the one i like best is the Korean Mesh type is super elegant, make the phone looks really sharp and cool

I bought the case-mate case, it's a 2 parter, rubber and partial hardcase also extra screen protector is thrown into the package too.

Never liked mesh case. They look weird to me

As nice as all those cases are I love the look of the device how it is, hence my attempt to hide the only bit of it I don't like.

Maybe you could just cut the jellycases back open and there is your bumber...

I did that already and its not good if you cut the whole backside off. Sides come too loose in my opinion.
Maybe if you don't cut the whole back off and leave some backside to keep the case in shape and give some friction it would be ok.

Starting to sound like a shill, but the Phantomskinz Chromatic "carbon fiber" appliqué that I'm using does a great job of hiding MOST of the iChrome look of the bezel. It totally covers the sides and leaves just a small ~1mm bit of chrome exposed on the top of the device, which is much more tasteful.

[Review] Seidio Active w/kickstand (White)

Alright. So, impressions first.
I've used Seidio Active cases on all of my phones since my original Incredible (quite a few devices). I love them. It was a no-brainer to get one for my One X. I hadn't ever used one of the kickstand models, so this is a first for me.
First off, the case is great. Very well designed, feels really really good in the hand. It gives the physical buttons (power, volume) a better feeling, makes them easier to use. I know some people had issues with the power button being a little too recessed, so this should remedy the issue a little.
It looks great. I got the glossed white, and I have to say, if you got the white One X, this is definitely the way to go. Really accentuates the overall look of the device, matches nicely.
The case should definitely prevent a lot of damage from drops. The silicon layer allows you to put it down face first without it resting on the screen, and the hard shell gives it good protection on the edges and corners. It also lifts the phone off of the camera lens.
The kickstand. This is kind of meh, to be honest. It is advertised as a metal kickstand, but honestly it feels pretty flimsy. It does support the phone on its side, but you cannot set it up vertically (like you can with the Thunderbolt). I've honestly not used the kickstand much. I don't use my phone for watching stuff very often, and even less often do I need to rest it that way. It can't be charged while the kickstand is out since the charging port is covered.
Another gripe about the kickstand is that it puts a little bulge on the back of the case. You can't really tell on the site, but it juts out a little. Kind of awkward, kind of throws off the minimal look to it. Not a huge deal though. I did contact Seidio and they said they have no plans to develop the Active case without a kickstand for the One X. So it is what it is.
Overall, it is a great case. If you are looking for solid protection with minimal bulk, this is definitely for you. I was actually really surprised how thin the device stays with the case on. Thanks to the hard shell the case doesn't make it difficult to pocket, since the silicon layer isn't what contacts the inside of the pocket (if that is an issue for you).
I'd definitely say it is worth it. Some will love and use the kickstand probably, others will likely be indifferent. I could live without it. But you can't beat the look or the feel, or the peace of mind it brings. Recommended!

Hmm... I really like the Kickstand. I purchased the platinum version of the seidio surface case from best buy and it lacks the kickstand. Will probably return it and get the surface case with the kickstand instead. All in all, Thanks for the Pics!

I have really been considering this case. It seems really nice. The only thing that has me not wanting a case on this phone is I'm worried it will detract from the ergonomics of the screen. The lip around the screen looks like it will make it more difficult to use the edges of the screen.

I got both this one and the Surface case at the same time so I could compare them. I have to say that I absolutely love the Surface case, but was not a fan of the active with kickstand. The Active has that awkward bulge in the back where the kickstand is, and I just didn't like the look and fit on the phone. The Surface, in my opinion, is just about perfect. It fits great over my Zagg screen protector, and it is very minimalistic and i think it actually helps maintain the phone's natural good looks! If you haven't tried the Surface case, give it a try! ( There's a thread on here somewhere with pictures of the Surface case... I'll try to find it and post a link.)

I get the surface cases for every phone I buy. I have to have a clip and the surface case is the best option for me. It doesn't add a lot of bulk but still feels protected. I was glad that Best Buy got the platinum case in for the HOX really quick. Identical to the surface case but 10 bucks cheaper.

Review of Active w/ kickstand
I've had my Active w/ kickstand for a couple of days. I really like the case. I got the blue version. The blue is darker and has a slight metallic tint. I think it looks better than the pictures seidio has posted online. The rubber skin makes the buttons easier to press, and has a great tactile feel. This is great for the power button, which usually took me a couple of tries without the case. I'd prefer the volumes weren't as easy to press, but not a big deal. The kickstand works well for me, but the charging port is at the bottom, when the kickstand is out. So you can't charge and use the kickstand at the same time. The edges of the screen are easy to use, unless you use the advanced setting in chrome that puts the menu button on the side. Also the lip, can interfere with your screen protector. I had to readjust mine to make sure it didn't line up with the edge of the lip, otherwise the lip tends to push the edge of the screen protector up.
Hope that helps, anyone considering this case.

On Amazon, Seidio claims that this case fits both the AT&T One X and the International One X. Does it indeed fit both, or just ours, or just the International? I need to buy a case, and I would prefer one with a kickstand. If anyone can tell me if the one on Amazon fits, that would be great. It would also be really helpful if you posted a link to a case for the AT&T One X that offers superior protection to the Seidio case, but also has a kickstand, but ideally I would like to order the Seidio for the AT&T One X. Sorry to be so demanding, but I won't take this phone out of my house until I get a case, and I really want to show it off at school

I've always liked seidio's products. Especially their active line cases. the AT&T rep was trying to get me to buy their $50 POS hard case. I didn't, the plastic feel just isn't good for me. Plus also the seidio holster is a lot better.
I got the case in red. I think it looks great. The kickstand does feel a little cheap but it ain't bad. I can live with it When propped up, it does its job quite well. My only complaint about the case is that because the edges of the screen on this phone are not raised, the case rubs up against the edge of my screen protector and it keeps lifting it then I push it back down. I may have to try to find a screen protector that has some stickiness to it.

Unfortunately not, Amazon.ca was the best it got. Wireless wave has some gel cases and possibly even otterbox cases. These however are not anywhere in stores

One side note on the Surface is the fact that when using the kickstand, the USB port is underneath, preventing you from charging it at the same time
But still, it's the best fit for the looks of the phone and protects the camera so you don't have to worry about setting it down roughly. my 2 cents

Have the same case but in black. Seems like it will def protect the phone. Feels good, haven't used the kickstand yet but will hold the phone up. Fairly easy to install and remove. Thought about the Surface case but wanted a case just for when I'm in the garage or outside at the beach or something so went with some extra protection. Rest of the time just use the phone as is with a screen protector. Like the design of the phone so don't care to have a case on it all the time.

Tech21 D3O Impact Maze Case

Hi Guys,
I cancelled my pre-order for the Spigen Neo Hybrid as it was taking far too long to arive (expected from Amazon UK was towards the end of May) So I decided to go ahead and try the Tech21 Impact Maze case, which I picked up from eBay UK for about 20 quid. Thought I would do a little review just to let you all know what I think so far...
OK, so when I was looking for a case, I wanted something that was going to offer a bit more protection from drops than the Case-Mate Barely There I had on my S2, but didn't want anything too bulky. I definitely didn't want anything that looked remotely like an Otterbox!
Initial impressions when looking at the Tech21 website, all the cases are somewhat transparent, and you can see the D30 material in all of them (apart from the Impact Snap range, which looked a bit too bulky with all the cutouts). I didn't really like the look of it, but the technology behind the D3O material looked very promising, and from watching a couple of youtube videos, its safe to say that employees at Tech21 definitely have faith in their products! Watch THIS and you'll see what I mean. This stuff is used in body armour and bulletproof vests and everything... pretty remarkable stuff really!
Anyways, I gave it a shot and it arrived this morning. Upon seeing it, it looks much darker than the images made it look (I bought the smoky version, on a Black Mist S4) and it actually looks pretty good. Still not keen on the orange bits, but you can't have everything! The fit seems great, not particularly tight to get on, but the phone doesn't move around inside it, and there are no noticeable loose bits. The case is make from smooth, soft plastic, so it feels really nice to hold, but shouldn't be so grippy that it makes it awkward to get out of your pocket. It does add some bulk (about 3mm around each side, 2mm on the back), but still feels nice to use.
I had read reports that the buttons can feel very stiff. Fortunately, I've found that while they do feel different to using them without a case, they're still pretty responsive.
The lip on the front doesn't seem to foul my screen protector, but glass ones might cause issues due to the extra thickness, which I guess will be a consideration with most cases.
All the cutouts are lined up perfectly, standard headphone plugs should fit no problem, and the hole for the USB cable should support most standard size connectors too.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with it, would be happy to recommend the case if you're looking for something similar, and happy to recommend the seller I bought it from HERE. I ordered this late Monday night, Dispach email came through early tuesday morning and it arrived by first class royal mail today. Couldn't be happier!
Will get some snaps up of the phone in the case as soon as I have something to take them with

I love those D3O Tech21 cases... we had the guy come into our office with the D3O putty and a hammer. You can push maybe a centimeter of the stuff around your finger, then hammer it like mad without feeling anything - just don't miss and hit your finger dead on! Magical stuff for sure, glad to hear that the Maze case looks better in person than it does in the pictures.

Ok but my only question, is;
If this stuff is so good why is it only around the edges of the phone?

Thacounty - there are LOADS of videos all over YouTube of very similar things, as well as the same guy (who I think must be the CEO of Tech21) throwing phones around HARD!!
I suspect they only put it around the edges as impact force her is higher (lower surface area means same force on a smaller area)

Just a blip of info on the stuff they use...
they use it in a lot of high impact things like like knee pads and elbow pads on motorcycle gear, works really well.

Its also being tested in bulletproof vests (by BAE Systems no less...) as its energy absorption properties are higher than that of Kevlar apparently!
And just for a laugh... D3O Hat!!

I really want to order the clear maze one for my white gs4 does it add too much width to the phone? I'm a guy with average sized hands and I can hold my galaxy nexus alright. Just worried about it making it too hard to use one handed.

This Tech21 case is around 7.7mm width-wise, definitely comfortable in one hand.
I'm still trying to decide whether or not to keep this or to go for an Otterbox Commuter when it comes out...I'm impressed by the impact protection advertisements, but I've had an Otterbox for my last two devices and it's definitely tried and true.

OK one last thing is really bothering me and the only reason I haven't ordered this yet. I feel like the front lip is too small... I have a diztronic less then 10$ case on my galaxy nexus right now and that has a nice sized front lip... Already ordered a MIME glass screen protector but if this thing falls on its face I wanna protect that beautiful screen..

Hey, I got my case yesterday evening. Even took some photos with my camera however didn't get a chance to upload them. Will try this evening.
Overall case is quite nice. Fits the phone well, is quite slim however due to substantial protection on the sides it does add considerably to the width and height of phone. Comparing to neo-hybrid it's a little taller, a millimeter or two wider and only slightly thicker however I feel a lot more confident of dropping it in this than the neo-hybrid.
Cutouts for ports are all perfect with a decent charging cutout so it fits all my chargers. Nice grip with the case. The Mesh on the back does look quite nice with the textured s4 back.

Overall case is quite nice. Fits the phone well, is quite slim however due to substantial protection on the sides it does add considerably to the width and height of phone. Comparing to neo-hybrid it's a little taller, a millimeter or two wider and only slightly thicker however I feel a lot more confident of dropping it in this than the neo-hybrid.

Carved Nexus 6P Case

I received my satellite series case today from Carved. The unique thing about the Satellite series is every case is different. The one that I have is unique to me and no one else will ever have the same design. If you want to be a plain old Jane they do offer just plain wood backs. Although the 6P variant of those haven't been added to their site yet. Just the Satellite Series and the option to make a custom case have been added for the 6P so far.
Now I have noticed that the case itself or the shell the woods attached to looks very similar to the Cover Up case. So it appears both companies source the shell or case from the same company and don't make it themselves. Which seems like a lot of phone accessory companies do that.
Anyway let's get on with the case itself. The sides have a really nice texture and it feels very secure in my hands. Now the case itself isn't the slimmest case you'll ever use. It's a little thicker then my Supcase Unicorn Beatle and Diztronic TPU case. But with the grip that isn't an issue.
The wood back of the phone has a different texture then what I imagined. For whatever reason I expected the wood to have a somewhat rough texture to it. But that isn't the case here. The wood has a very smooth feel to it and it's also somewhat glossy. The preview on the site didn't really show that. But it doesn't make the case any less beautiful.
The only issue with this case which I'm not sure if it's even an issue to be honest is the case isn't tight against the back of the phone. I originally thought the case was warped due to the wood. But I think it's like that by design. Before I explain further here's a .gif of what I mean. http://i.imgur.com/nknfW4H.gifv Most cases have a spot "dug out" for the camera hump. But this doesn't have that. It has these notches inside the case that appear to raise it just a little bit so the back doesn't touch the phone. Now this does make the fingerprint reader feel deeper then it actually is. This is really the only downside of the case for me and it's something I can live with.
If you're looking for heavy duty protection I would avoid this case. It's just going to protect the phone from everyday wear and tear and minor drops. The case doesn't really have a lip. The sides are raised above the screen so the screen doesn't get scratched when you set it face down. But there really isn't a lip that wraps around the front of the screen like most cases. Also the corners aren't reinforced like my Supcase.
If you want to know about the buttons they're adequate. They're better then the Supcase Unicorn but worse then the Diztronic TPU buttons. When adjusting the volume you can hear an audible click and has good tactile feedback. The same can't really be said about the power button. It offers no audible click. But none of the buttons are hard to press and they're probably still as sensitive or maybe a little less then what they're like without a case.
Overall it's a very nice case and it's probably the most unique case for the 6P out right now. The satellite series does run a little pricey. They run from $50-60 with free shipping. But it's highly worth it with what you're getting. There plain cases are about $30.

It seems that the case itself has some sort of a gap between the back of the phone. You can fill it up if you use some soft pads made of foam Just have a look eg. here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/accessories/mod-ultra-rugged-poetic-revolution-t3307492
The soft pads will help you to fill the gap while not adding too much pressure against the back of the phone itself.

I just bought one as well! Should be arriving here later today, I asked them about the gap, and they said they fixed that issue so maybe you got a bad one?

I can confirm they didn't fix it what soever I am really disappointed in this and I will be returning the case.

That one looks nice. But yeah I think the gap is by design. Like I said instead of making a indent for the camera hump. They just put notches inside the case to raise it so the hump isn't an issue.

I ordered mine yesterday. Hopefully it doesn't have the gap, but I doubt it. Still, the cases look amazing.

Like I said before, if you really like this case and want to keep it anyway, use some thin soft pads made of foam in order to fill the gap. These pads will adjust the phone to the mechanical structure of the case. At least this method works great in the Poetic Revolution Case I´m using
