[APP] POPUP 7 A Concept Notification Center for Andorid, WP7 themed(Updated V3.1) - Android Apps and Games

Attached some ScreenShots...
HI there,
Introducing POPUP 7
A application which shows sms with sender photo and sms contents without disturbing any of your works. It comes from background and disappears.
Do not halt/pause your Games, any other work. Amazingly you can access your work even when this app is showing messages.
Click on popup to view sms thread just like in Windows Phone 7.
You can completely Customize look for this app.
1. Ability to show hide contact Image.
2. Ability to change color.
3. Ability to set duration.
4. Ability to show number of message lines.
5. Click on arrow to view complete message.
Any Suggestions are welcome.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.np.smsPopupPlusfree&feature=search_result
***NOTE***
For those who are using GOSMSPRO and Popup 7 is not working
In goSmsPro go to menu->setting ->ReceiveSetting... Please UNCHECK "DISABLE OTHER MESSAGE NOTIFICATION " option.
This will resolve problem.. please do not RATE low as this is not a fault of this app, that settings in go sms suppresses androids default Intents for sms received.
ToDO:
Working to make POPUP 7 as complete Notification center for android. If anyone wants to join me or give suggestions they are welcome.
Here is Concept what it will look like:
(This concept is originally from Yanko Andreev who joined me to make it true, this is just a concept, POPUP 7 will not be exactly like this.)
This is Concept picture of Notification Center, This kind of notification center will be implemented for POPUP 7. It is not there right now but it is in development.

Yeah I agree. This app is pretty cool so far, but it does not handle multiple texts well. Some features I'd suggest are to display the message text while the reply entry box is up, open keyboard automatically when "reply" is pressed, close popup when "read" is pressed, not make the whole popup background open SMS app (easily do this by accident when trying to press arrow), and custom color choice, including transparency.
Like i said tho, great app so far, especially considering it just came out. So keep up the development and I can see this turning into a success

seems good but i dont want to message content to be displayed in the popup unless i click some button to show it..please do add this feature and i would definitely buy it.

Updates are coming...

Hi ajk1311,
Thanks for your suggestions , these all things are considered and I am releasing one update for multimessage handling.

Idea behind this app is to make user read/reply message but being very less obtrusive. User should be able to access background work while doing these activities, so I think showing original message while replying will make message window large.

POPUP 7 is intended for much more than just sms messaging and next few updates will prove that.

Nice app.

This looks pretty interesting! Will check it out!

very nice application thank you.
may i suggest to include popup for E.mails also (K9)? it will be unique one on android.
thanks again

This looks promising, but I think if you want to attract more users, to some degree you should really work on getting better (higher-res) images on the Market app page. They do not make the app look attractive, enough to the extent that it can easily dissuade many [superficial albeit average] users.
Just wondering, how does the app handle incoming texts when the screen is off and lockscreen enabled? Can it turn on the screen and bypass the lockscreen? Also, I'm looking at the pay version and from the screenshots, the Reply, Read, and Delete buttons look quite ugly and unfitting given this is supposedly inspired by WP7.
Other than those points, everything I had in mind was already nicely stated by ajk1311. This app looks promising, I will keep an eye out on this development...

I can probably make a simple border in photoshop if you'd like.. pm

Hi c00ller,
Thanks for feedback,
Next update(after 2 days) for this app will handle Ringtones, Lockscreen and wake locks.
After implementation of bug free basic functionalities I am going to add some more advance functionalities like reminder for sms, missed call alert, kmail Integration and Incall popup, outgoing call popup.
The idea behind such implementation is to make life easy on mobiles and give some high usable apps.

Thanks for this application dev!
Certainly bringing convenience to us. Will there be an update where it will handle the SMS at the top for reply straight? It will be very convenient for us if this is available.
Will be looking forward to the update!

Hey dev is there any chance to include message content privacy feature ...surely there would be many like me who woudnt want others to see the message content easily and as others said the ability to reply with in the popup itself instead of going to the message application

I like the update! Makes the popup a little more user friendly. After pressing the 'reply' button, however, the popup gets kind of distorted with a noticeable separation between the entry box and the rest of the popup. Another feature, that idk if is development or not, that i thought of was a way to return to the message text after pressing reply, so we can refer to the message content if need be. Good update and I love the quick responses and development! Keep it up!

First of all, you already know it's a good idea and it will catch up if you make it snappy and jazzy looking.
Secondly, try googling some wp7 icons, and put those instead of the simple rectangular buttons. +1 for good looks and wp7 feel.
third thing - I don't know if it's possible, but consider overtaking the notification bar for a while to have more screen real estate. Stock vanilla sms app can do it, I remember sense sms app can do it too - it overtakes the notification bar space, leaving just the clock, battery and reception icons and displays a newly arrived text message for a short period of time.
Quite useful, it's just the notification bar itself it often not big enough, so I'm just thinking, maybe you could break the message in two parts, send one part to the notification bar, the rest to your view, then you'd have the whole message on a bigger screen estate.

Great idea, just more customization would be great and perhaps integrate this into an SMS application.

Works nice so far. Prefect for school
Please lengthen your message to at least 10 charters

Love this app . In a future update can you add like a fade away ?
Also a plain black or white background?

I have updated POPUP 7 paid app with some new buttons and functionality to reply also changed.

Hi karthik1der,
Content Privacy feature will be there in next update.
But tell me one thing, what Kind of Privacy feature you are refering to?
One I am thinking is give user ability not to show sms Content for some specified Contacts.

Does not support qvga phones and tablets.
If you encountered some crash issue, please don't uninstall it right away, because I can see it , I'll try my best to resolve it.
Coolands for Twitter is a revolutionary twitter client. It has many unique features, gives you the best mobile twitter experience you never imagined before.
*The first unique feature is Real-Time.
You can’t find any refresh button in this app, because you absolutely don’t need to. Every time you open it, you’ll get the latest tweets and while you’re reading, you’ll get incoming tweets in Real-Time. So if your friend mentioned you, you can reply instantly.
*The second unique feature is Avatar Indicator.
Avatar Indicator is small avatars showed on the title bar to indicate that you’ve got new message/tweet/mention. Since it’s real-time, you’ll keep getting incoming tweets while you’re reading your older timeline, Avatar-Indicator will let you know who’s tweet you’ve just got, and decide whether to check it out right away.
*The third unique feature is Direct Link
I think it is obviously the most intuitive and convenient way to open a link. When you want to open a link, just click it in the time line . You can also click a username to open a profile window, click a hash tag to open a search result window. Different kind of links displayed in different colors, you can change it to whatever color you like.
The fourth unique feature is Smart Bookmark
Have you ever experienced this scenario? When you are reading your home timeline, the app notified you that you’ve got some new tweets, you click “go-to-top” button to read the newest tweets, and then you want to get back to the previous position to continue your reading. How can you do this? In other twitter clients you have to scroll down all the way to find where you were, a lot of time wasted. But in this app, “go-to-top” button will appear when you scrolling up, click it, you can got to top, read the newest tweets. After that when you scrolling down, Smart Bookmark button will appear at the corner. Click it, you can get back to exactly where you were.
*The fifth unique feature is User Level Notification
Notification for all your new tweets is meaningless, if you following more than a few users, you’ll get new tweets all the time. What if you only want to be notified when someone you most care about posted a new tweet? In this app, it’s easy. You can change your friend’s notification setting directly in his/her profile screen. You can also set different notification ringtone for your friends respectively. So when you heard a notification ringtone, you’ll know who he/she is without the need to open your phone. And you can manage all the enabled User-Level-Notification settings in one place.
*The sixth unique feature is Sleep Time.
It’s not very special but I think it’s important. You probably don’t want to be waked up by any kind of notification noise when you sleep. You can set your sleep time, so you don’t receive any kind of notifications when you sleep.
*The seventh unique feature is Last Position.
This app doesn’t save all your older tweets when you exit. Every time you launch it, the newest tweets show up on the screen. But you can retrieve your position at which you exited last time, and continue your reading, by select ‘Last position’ menu option.
Coolands for Twitter has most of the basic twitter client features, like post/delete tweets, retweet, reply, quote, send/delete direct message, subscribe/unsubscribe lists, follow/unfollow user, multiple account support (up to 3), append picture with your tweets, mention auto complete, recent search auto complete, etc.
Please give me feedbacks if you have tried it, and I PROMISE to reply all your emails.
*1.11 update
*Add static image notifier on the top of the screen, removed text notifier.
*1.12 update
*fixed silent ringtone issue.
*removed picture resize options, pictures will be resized to proper size automatically before upload.
*1.20 update
*Refined UI
*Add 'Last position' menu option. it is used to retrieve your position at which you exited last time, and continue your reading.
Unable to install on my Acer A500. The market says the app is incompatible.

I ruled out Tablet,because I don't have tablet, so I can't make a tablet version.
I just received an crash report, from LG GT-540 caused by a NullPointerException, I guess that's because my Entry Activity was killed by System when user went to Browser to authorize the app.
I'm sorry for my user who use 256M RAM phone, I use Samsung Vibrant to test which has 512M RAM, I should get one.

app has crazy potential. won't lie. but it has some few issues. most users won't pick up on the swipe to change screens. at least i think they won't. I could be wrong. There were also a few spelling mistakes in it, but overall was great. With a little polish this could overtake plume as my go to twitter app.

Of course. Swipe all the way to the left and "Favorites" is misspelled. The help screen has some minor stuff. If you want I can rewrite it all, but I'll have to do it after I wake up. When you compose, the hint is missing a space between what's happening, and the twitter user name. I also had a force close but i've been unable to replicate it so it might have just been a one time thing. But the more i play with it, the more I like it. Thank you!
You are so kind, I'll correct them in the next version.
And I definitely need you to rewrite the help stuff.
And have you notice the lanscape mode composing screen? You can type in lanscape mode and still see the number of characters, and buttons. I think its very convenient. And I didn't mention it on market description.

What keyword did you use to search? I searched "coolands for twitter", and there it is.
Maybe you just searched "coolands", and its not showed on the first page.
I used the link.....no problems. Also noticed the spelling errors, no big deal. Initially will take some getting use to, but the more I use it, the more I like it.
Now I found it by searching for "coolands for Twitter ", thanks.

Thank you for this free app. I'll try it, seems awesome.
Great app other than the small issues mentioned. I'm confused about why there is an update interval in settings if it is real time.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
that is background refresh interval for notifications, its confusing indid, i should change the name.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
1.02 update
fixed some crash issue.
fixed some spelling error.
And it's not All-Time Real-Time, if you exit the app, and notification is enabled, it won't notify you in Real-Time.
I could do that, but that would drain your battery heavily.
will be trying this out in a while.
thanks!
I need more feedbacks please.
I feel depressed about not getting replys.

VERY original app, it is software like this that makes me wish I knew or could learn how to program (can't due to totally diff career, work, etc). This is a great concept! I have a friend learning to program and sometimes seems dismotivated because he says everything (software) already exists... which if course is not the case. Thank you for your contribution

Disregard this. Rebooted and force closes went away. Beautiful app!
Concentration
Sounds like an awesome app.But does it work along with handcent sms (I use it)?
But won't a person who is texting be concentrating only on sending and reading messages.I mean will he really be looking at the moving image and paying attention to it? It will slightly slow down his texting abilities even if he does.
Great App!!! A great way check someone out with removing your eyes off them. A good looking woman.:good:

YOUR FEEDBACK PLEASE!
Text & Numbers are what all of our actions revolve around when it comes to our smart devices.
Problematic Situation: You need to write something really quick on the fly so you spend a few seconds going back to your home screen looking for ANY app that will let you type; when you're done typing you realize you actually need to email it so you spend a few more seconds copying the content and then open your email app; when you're FINALLY done, you realize you lost the copied content because you copied something else in the process so you just give up and quit for the day!

The purpose of the colorful and dark shaded UI is to be simple and easy to tell the difference between the categorized actions while using stock icons alot of people are familiare with.

If you pressed home or it got dismissed by another full screen app, tap the Anything Texter app icon and it will be restored.
If the swipe hotspot got killed by android then all you have to do is turn off your screen, smile, then turn your screen on (and unlock it if needs to) and the hotspot will come back on the bottom left side; Remember swipe from the edge of the screen in any direction.

THX for your reply mate!
Ok now i know how to handle this app. But is it intended that press Home Button the app get killed?! For me every time I pressed home Button I have to restart the app by tap the Anything Texter Icon as you said. Its a little bit annoying... So you are working on that or its desired??
Thx anyway!
Tapping Home (or being overide by another full screen app e.g. phone call) Anything Texter window will be hidden and tapping the icon will resume the window as it was left.
Tapping Back will save the current content as 'last text and/or numbers' and will close the window. Swiping the hotspot will start a new window session, which you can hit the recover button (green round arrow) to put the last content in fields.
I'll fix the overiding by other apps and make the home screen do the same action as the Back button.
Your feedback is very appriciated thank you!

Thx, that sounds good. With these fixes the app is pefect in my opinion!
Hi... Very beautiful and useful application... I'm trying it on my note 3 stock and the only problems that I have are the difficulty to swipe from the bottom left side that sometimes don't appear and I see slowdowns when writing... I use SwiftKey for type.... Anyway nice app and good idea... Keep it up this great work... Thanks

Thanks for the positive feedback!
Rebooting your device will CONSIDERABLY boost the speed of Anything Texter but as i mentioned, there will be a MASSIVE speed improvements both in the launching time & typing response in next update.
If Android kills the swipe hotspot turn screen off then on (will implement a more persistent solution soon)
You can also make the hotspot size bigger or smaller (remember to swipe from the edge works the best)

I was already impressed by this app in my previous post and initial use...
...and now 8 days after using Anything Texter, I cannot live without it!
There is literally no thinking involved, i just turn on my phone > swipe > type text > use it for anything!
I already reached 500 actions
Its already filled with features and you're about to add more in the next updates, I love you!

I have been using Anything Texter for about 3 weeks and i've reached 1027 actions!
At the same time i uninstalled 8 apps i dont need anymore thanks to this.
Im forcing my wife to use this while she's working because it saves me at least 20 min a day.
ZERO battery consumption for an app that is always there with a swipe and provide TONS of usefull functions is a winner in my book!

Awesome app! A couple of minor issues: the default text size is very tiny -- any chance that you could increase the size a bit? Also, the default bubble appearance location is in the upper-left corner -- can that be moved a bit down so that the bubble is a bit easier to reach? Thank you!
I'm going to test the app out for a little bit, and then I will purchase the pro version. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for this good suggestions. We will grow up the default font size by 2dp and set default position to right vertical center. All with next update in a few days.
Many greetings
Stallware
Could you make options forbubble pop up position? I personally would prefer it pop up on the left side. Id be willing to pay if it was added to the plus version. Also is background color changable or just text boxes? The white looks weird on dark themes.
Sent from my LG-D415 using XDA Free mobile app
Background is colour able. What do you mean with left bounded? The popup is generally bounded on bubble so if bubble is left, popup is left.
Awesome! Just what i was looking for. Good design, and the possibility to keep any sms app with it. The animations could be smoother (like facebook messenger for example) and the font is really small like it was said before. Nice work!
We currently work on the animations. On Android lollipop this should be smooth allready. Do you mean that we should display the complete history in the chat?

I actually meant just the animations, they are really fluid on facebook messenger. But the history thing is nice too. Like showing the 2 previous sms, not the whole history imo
Have had issues typing longer messages in here. Seems to be around the 2-3 standard SMS size length. I'll type out a message, hit send, and it appears to go through, but never does. Makes the app seem very unreliable.
On Lollipop.
good
Thanks for this note we will check SMS length and may depart it. Also we try to build in a SMS feedback. All on start of next week. Firstly there will be an update with font size and default position.
Many greetings

nice, but on my galaxy A5 the font is still very small
Its not really possible to dimension the size right on every device. Because of this there is the plus version that is completly personalizeable.
New update released.
Added copy possibility of message content on long click
Links will now converted to clickable views
Feedback of send button if message is empty
Performance increased by high amount of messages
Hope you like this new features.
Best greetings
Stallware
I love this app. A few suggestions:
-Please allow reply to message to clear all SMS notifications pending in the notification drawer
-please add the "once SMS is read, turn off the little bubble number ticker"
-please add delivery report
-please add smoother animations like those seen in flynx browser or bubble link broswer. They use independent bubble libraries that are open sourced. They're smooth and nice on the eyes
-allow the bubble to hide a little more. Like PA HALO Ninja mode. Maybe set an option for this?
-please add the ability to change the bubble notification number's color
-add a "load more messages" button or option to load more Sms" in the bubble's page OR add an option to load xyz amount of messages instead of having just the last ones since the bubble was created
-add a "keep in memory" option
-add sound notifications/vibrate.
-add a "do not disturb" applist. For example, I don't want this to show up on ACDisplay
-add a quick reply notification ticker in the notification drawer to quick reply to the message received. When clicking the quick reply, the bubble pops up with the message opened. Why would you do it this way? For those who don't want the bubble on the lock screen or lockscreen apps. . .but want to be able to reply quickly from the lockscreen without having to open the entire messaging app. I use Google messenger which doesn't have a quick reply ability
-add "close on send" optio
-add "open keyboard on bubble page expansion" option
Other than that this app is legit.
Wow thanks for this many suggestions.
We will put all of them to our development discussion list.
- Delivery report is allready in progress
- Badge count invisible if read as option should be possible, also colourable
- Smoother animation is a ongoing progress, do you know which library flynx and link bubble use?
- Possibility to hide bubble more will be checked
- Load more messages is good but currently this app is more a small notification than a complete sms app, will be discussed
- keep in memory? What does this mean?
- Sounds and notifications should currently be processed by the default sms app, otherwise it will be duplicate
- Since Lollipop a blacklist is still not possible anymore, android do not offer information about apps that are currently on front
- Close on send and open keyboard default seems to be a easy preference adding
In the next weeks there will be no big development change because of vacation but after this we will have a deep look at this suggestions.
Thanksfull Greetings
Stallware

There appears to be a problem with the way we set up the promo code posted above. Or rather we misunderstood the way Google Play promo codes work.
Sincere apologies to everyone who tried to use it. Chances are it failed with an error message stating “already used by someone else”.
We still want to offer the Premium upgrade for free to all the existing users. And if you would like to get it, simply drop us a line at [email protected] and we’ll email you your personal promo code.
Sorry for the mess up
Version 3.3.9
What's new:
- Small improvement: You can now name/label alarms.
Hey mate! Thanks again for the promo code.
Gonna give you some feedback in return (Sorry I am little bit late on this, forgot I even have the app). Let's go:
1) Allow "weekdays" to be configurable. Lots of places in the world use Sunday as start of the week day and not Monday.
2) Make it so I can disable the wake up message.
3) Will be cool if instead of saying "Alarm will go off today" you will mention how much time is left till the alarm.
4) Shake to snooze/dismiss doesn't work outside of app screen.
5) Does each alarm has to be so big? I can only fit 3 without the need to scroll down.
6) Allow some basic theming options. Black and yellow is not everyones cup of tea.
7) Adding a label will make the text for alarm days dissappear. See attached pic.
8) label text color should have a different color in order to recognize it more easily.
That's it buddy, any more feedback and I will have to start charging you
Thanks a lot mate! More than enough for starters
Just few questions to help me understand it better:
2) You mean not to show the confirmation screen at all? Or to show the screen without the message?
5) What's the phone you have? I'll check its screen size and make sure bigger screens (like yours) fit more alarms.

Happy to help, mate.
Regarding 2 - I am talking about the option of removing the message screen completely. It is an unwanted second click (For me at least). When turning off the alarm I must face that message screen even though I did not write there anything - So I get an empty message that cannot be removed.
Regarding 5 - I have xiaomi mi mix. But it has nothing to do with my phone's screen. Even on the pictures on Google play, you only show 3 alarms. Try adding the 4th one and you will notice that the text for it cannot be seen unless we scroll down.
Have a nice day.
Regarding 2 - Got you. I know what I'll do. Won't show the screen if the message is set to blank/empty.
Regarding 5 - A bit confused. Attached is the original screenshot used to make the picture on Google Play. It fits 4 alarms nicely. The free version fits 4 alarms without any scrollbars, the premium version adds a bit of padding at the bottom to accommodate the add/plus button which forces the scrollbar to appear. I used the Google Clock app as a reference (also attached). Are you saying it would be better to have 5 alarms on the screen?
Many thanks once again!

Hey, looks like I was mistaken about 5 and I think I know why.
It looks like I got confused a little bit because I can still scroll down while not having anything there. It lead me to assume that in order to read the days of week or label for the last alarm clock I will need to scroll to bot.
I crossed checked with one of the screenshots I took back then and I did not had anything specific set for that alarm (Attaching pic for reference).
IMO, you should get rid of that scroll if it does nothing until the 5th alarm comes into play.
About the 5 clocks on a single screen - I think it will look better and feel better but my phone is big so you better test it on smaller phones as well to see if it still holds up even after changing to 5.
It also it might hurt your business plan, so it too, needs to be taken into consideration.
Good night buddy.
Aw man, I missed the premium version
